James. 9 Posted December 19, 2011 Last time someone mentioned it, wishbones (oe) were about £100 + vat each. Plus the bushes on top. Powder coating shouldn't rush you more than £20/30 a pair. They would have to be seriously rotten, to not be able to be saved though. Had mine done recently and I thought they were bad. They came up like new. VAG-hag 0 Posted February 4, 2012 Are the wishbones easy enough to remove? I want to do this too....
daves16v 1 Posted February 4, 2012 Are the wishbones easy enough to remove? I want to do this too.... Yes but of course you have to destroy them to get them out. Prise the rubber out first, should be easy if they're buggered, then cut through the outer with a hacksaw being very careful not to cut the wishbone itself. Then use a hammer/drift to knock em out. MK1Campaign 0 Posted February 4, 2012 New ones only come with black electro coat so you'd be better off powder coating them too.
stevef182 0 Posted February 4, 2012 I have recently done the R32 rears and powerflex front combo - worth doing
shaunVR6 0 Posted February 4, 2012 This mite be a stupid question but cud u leave the bushes in when they get powder coated or wud the temps involved destroy the rubber
Laser Mark 0 Posted February 5, 2012 I shot blasted and powder coated a pair of wishbones which had R32 rushes in. They stood up on to the temperature fine. (its only 180 degrees for 10 mins)
