Pretty sure the bracket with bushes that sits on top the gearbox is still available, but don't think the shift cable end parts are.

there's not much that can be done, if you really want an improvement then either look out for some very late mk3 16v/VR parts or go the whole hog and fit a mk4 gearlever mech and shift tower 100 times better

some lever and gearbox shift tower info in here:

£50 -100 would get you a o2j mk4 era tower /cables &bracket/shifter which is way way better than what the cars came with , self ajusting too and short shifters available if you want them

id tried re bushing and fitting late mk3 parts , but the o2j stuff really is worth doing

cupra 20vt or big block polos have the correct housing to bolt straight in , no mods

I've only just fitted the Dave Shortshift kit, i take it that would be no good if i had O2J stuff? (not even tried it out yet)

no you replace it all with the more modern gear , all the way from gearstick to the tower

whatver you do it you wont get it as nice as the o2j stuff

I'm using mk4 golf gear selector and tower with polo diesel casing. Bolts straight in. Easy to do, great feel to drive with!

My gearbox end tower keeps jumping out of alignment if I throw in reverse quickly😞. Seems like there is a piece missing . Any ideas? Or has anyone got all the part numbers required to change to mk4 set up
