James. 9 Posted September 12, 2022 Filling the VR this week, so whats everyone using ? Heritage only list pre-mixed at £13 a litre 😳. Anybody have a good word for this: Febi coolant Never thought I’d be confused over coolant.
_Matt_ 32 Posted September 12, 2022 I'm using ready mixed G13. I understand you should use deionised water so just bought the ready mixed stuff as it was going to be a lot of volume of liquid delivered either way so went premixed for that reason. James. 9 Posted September 12, 2022 Yes, cheers. I have some de-ionised already. Ready mixed certainly is convenient, but when you need 10 litres, it starts to look a little expensive for me. I put the Comma product in the 8v and it’s performing as expected. Just curious what everyone is using in 2022
oneohtwo 8 Posted September 12, 2022 Ready mixed G13 for me as well. Found there was too much confusion over whether you should use de-ionised, demineralised or distilled water, so gave up. Plus keeping a few bottles handy if you need to top up avoids having to use tap water.
fla 9 Posted September 13, 2022 Is it no longer available on its own? Demin water is only about £2 for 2.5 litres from Asda

That Febi one looks ok to me and quite well priced too
mnmv12 2 Posted September 13, 2022 Have been using Comma G48 for the last 20 years simple because that is what they always recommend never really thought about using G12+, G13 in a pre 96 car. I can certainly see the advantages of the more modern fluid. Are the original Corrado radiators all aluminium? For some unbeknown reason I assumed they had some copper in them and therefore thought the later fluid’s weren’t suitable. Time for a change I reckon. Crasher 3 Posted September 14, 2022 We have gone over to G12 Evo mixed 60/40 with distilled water as that is the curent spec to TRY and stop MQB heater matrix's getting blocked; it is nearly that season again!
