Think I'm going to go for the drill option, so goggles and a clear work area are going to be a must! Wax in the eyes - ouch. Sounds like the voice of experience there dude, mucho suckage! :(

uh oh, methinks a purchase is gonna happen... ...or at the very least a hire! how much did that lot set you back roughly?
-
hmm, that's not a bad idea. You mean the ones that have a buffing/polishing bad on either side, normally with a guard?
-
Damn, so it is a case of mucho elbow grease :D Thanks for the response.

I've seen a lot of cars with polished inlet manifolds, alternators, rocker covers etc.. and they look pretty sweet. Now, how exactly do people get that finish? Is it a case of uber-elbow grease sanding, polishing with power drill and bit, buffing etc...? I've never known for sure, wanted to check as I'd like to do the same to mine when I take the head off for work. Is there a specfic procedure, or recommendations? Ta in advance randal

I pity da foo' who messes wit' my TV station... ..just drink your milk BA... :D

just goes to show that advertising drives ITV, not the viewing pleasure of it's customers - nor the content of it's shows. UK TV is becoming more like the states every day, and we've got Murdock to thank for it. (not the A-Team loon, although him running a TV station would surely end in hysterical results). randal

Wasn't that up for sale on ebay not too long ago?

Has anyone gone the wing mirror route to get around the MOT testing? Or do you sitll have to have side repeaters on the body of the car to satisfy Mr MoT?
-
Should be too much of a problem, as I leave the dash illumination set at top and don't twiddle with it. Unless I fat finger the headlight switch  Hmm, mood lighting for the car... :D

The easiest way to spot the play is to turn the wipers on, and stand side on watching the spline shaft. As the wiper comes up vertical, you'll see the blade move away from the windscreen. If this is the case, the two welds that hold the upside down "T" shaped spline for the wiper arm have snapped allowing the "T" to move away when it should be pushing the blade onto the screen. Hope that's understandable enough, it's a pain to explain but it's easy to spot if it's that foo-bar'd. hth randal

Wow, those Team Dynamics rims really compliment that Roco. That can't be the original paintwork can it??

OK, it should be here tomorrow all being well and good. I've been reading through the instructions on how to fit to a MK4 Golf, all looks like a doddle. The wiring to the doors and power is no problem, as will be running an "on" wire to the headlight switch. It lists pin 17 on the MK4 headlight switch as the one that activates the LED ambience when the headlights are on - I'm guessing the same one that does the dash illumination. Does anyone know which pin this is on the early rado switch? tia randal

Damn, those SLA machines are handy! Go into mass production and flood ebay, bring the prices down - that'll scupper the badge thieves! randal
