Those "spoilers" really live up to their name eh? What a waste.

Gotcha, will add em on to the list. Cheers all 8)

Just called up a place as an enquiry, they said I might have to replace the rear spring plates?? Never heard of this before, I kinda figured that if I was buying a Bilstein suspension kit for a Corrado - it would have everything I need to get cracking (aside from mounts/bushes).... Now I'm all confused. Arrg. :|
-
Ah OK, as much as I want performance I really do value my ride comfort. Maybe the VR6 mounts ain't such a hot idea. Standards all round it is :) Wish my car was only ten years old, 14 and still going strong - only just hit 100K too. Kev, how much do Vibratechnics pay you?? :D :D :D :D
-
I think I might just go for the VR6 top mounts then, and just replace the bushes/ball joints with VW ones for the time being. Reason for this is I need money for the SS exhaust + respray! Thanks for your thoughts Andy, much obliged. Cheers :D
-
Any recommendations actually for the top mounts/bushes? TIA randal
-
Cool, I'll stick bushes and top mounts on my list of to-do's too then. Might as well I guess, saves doing them at a later date. Oh god, that sounded almost responsible! AAARRRRGGG!!!
-
Cool Cool! Was a little concerned about 45 quid shocks, but that's good news. Did you end up just replacing the shocks, or did you do all the top mounts and stuff too? ta randal

I'm looking at getting a set of bilstein "streetline" shocks to replace the sachs things I've got on there at the moment, and drop the car 40mm or so. Don't have the money for coilovers, and there's a few other things I want to get done too - so I'm opting for the more economic solution. Has anyone had any experience with these, or can anyone recommend a better shock for about the same kinda price (150-200)? Thanks in advance randal

I feel a new game coming on... Hey Henny - What colour is 3rd wire from the left on the ECU loom? Sorry couldn't resist, but it's damn impressive you remember all this!

It's not something to do with the alarm/total closure module is it? Only reason I say that, is I was having some really odd problems with indicators which break into the alarm circuit at the hazards. Could have something to do with it? Dunno, I can recommend Andy at Electrifying Touch if you have any alarm related problems. The man is a legend. Give me a shout if you need his number. Thanks randal

and Brentacre quoted me 500, plus they said I can stick new shoes and suspension on there without my premium going up :D I think i've found a new insurance company.... -

HIC just quoted me 1500 quid :( Apparently some dude just wrote off a Sierra Cosworth, and all young drivers are taking a slap in the tackle for it. -
If the hoses are anything to go by, i can see why the oil cooler is such a gimpy knee. Ended up taking off the rad hose, and was deliberating taking the alternator out just so I had some space to get the crappy pliers I had to make a decent fit on the pinch clips! Not a problem though, as I grabbed some jubilees when I got the hose :D No way in hell I was going through that again! Will have a think about the mocal idea, more tempted to get me shocks and shoes sorted first... ah decisions decisions  ta again

OK, of much toil, sweat (it's DAMN hot out there!) and swearing have managed to crack the lot. The top hose was only split at the very end, so a quick trim and it's all good. Having just spent over an hour trying to get the pinch clips off on the lower hose (oo-er), I totally agree with you stel g60! Henny, this oil cooler you speak of - I thought that was just a G60 thing? I'm interested, very interested... I guess it would mount behind the rad and feed inline somehow? Do tell, I'm all excited at the prospect of taking that cursed 48 quid (in the eyes of a stealer anyway) and setting fire to it! :D Cheers all randal

sounds like the window regulator is knackered. had the same problem on a volvo 480. (don't laugh, it was pretty quick  ) Umm, did you have problems getting the window up/down before the major trouble started? Slow movement, sounds like it was struggling? The problem with regulators is the fact they are so damn fiddly to repair, GSF http://www.gsfcarparts.com might be able to help you. Else GPC http://www.gpcvwaudi.com should come up trumps. yay the top hose just split whilst trying to remove it so i could access the lower one. it's turning out to be one of those days.... f'ckit.
-
yeppers, the question mark shaped doohickie. Just waiting for a mate to come pick me up... Grrrrrrr stealers... GRRRRRR.
-
Rock on GSF - 5.50! More like it. If it wasn't for the fact I love the car so much, I'd actually boycott VW and their UK-esque prices.
-
Motor factors didn't have it, so had to call the stealer. It's not a part they keep so I'd have to wait till Thursday. But that's not the best bit.... 48 quid + vat for the part. I have NEVER heard of such bullsh*t in my entire life, w*n*ers!
-
Gav - you da man! Thanks very much. Would have used a standard piece of hose, but owing to the shape of it I guess that would have caused more problems with kinking etc... Will give Mr Motor Factors a call now and see what the damage is. Thanks again randal

Morning All, On my way to work this morning, and noticed the temperature was climbing rather rapidly. Pulled over and did the bonnet check, water was low. Topped it up (LOTS), and ran the engine for a minute or two on the forecourt. Only to find water literally jetting out of a hose at the bottom front of the engine. (see pic) Could anyone tell me what this is/part number please? I need to know quite urgently as I have to be in North London for 2pm! Waaaah! Thanks in advance randal

Thank you for starting this up, else I would have never heard of Bubb Rubb and lil Sis... Woo Wooooooo!

Yep central locking still works, only after you get the striking pin right though. I think that's what was wreaking havoc with mine, got that right and the c locking played along too. HTH randal
