I know quite a few people have been on this forum worrying about their MFA oil temperature readings. Just thought I'd quote from the Corrado manual page 38 - they don't seem to be as worried as some of us!!! "Oil temperatures ( within a range of +50C and +160C ) are shown. When no oil temperature indication is shown, the engine is still not warm, and therefore should not be worked hard. The engine speed should be reduced if the oil temperature rises to +145 C" Thats put my mind at ease....... :) :) Im off to read the rest of the manual now...........

perhaps insurers should be made to refer to an authority such as the CCGB in order to establish the true replacement value of our beloved cars.  Failing that everybody take out insurance shortfall cover

Gosh, these people astound me with their swift solutions to seemingly impossible problems!!! This guy should surely be involved in the NASA space program - rather than being wasted at a tyre fitting place!

Blair, firstly I am sorry for the hassle you have had with this so called 'specialist' From what I can tell, you have clear grounds for an action against him and in my opinion you are likely to succeed. The unfortunate thing is if he IS telling the truth and is about to declare bankruptcy, in which case there may be a delay and/or only a partial financial recompense. Surely it is time to name this individual and his practice on this forum?

Have had personal dealings with personal injury claims with HENDERSONS. IMHO I advise anyone to avoid them if only for the reason that I get the impresson they get so many clients (perhaps having done a deal with recovery firms?) and tend to rush through claims without the personal treatment. My advice would be to employ a local solicitor who has experience of PIC and to avoid this firm.

see Highway Code rules 94, 201, 211 It is acceptable to use foglights, front and [/i]rear in conditions of poor visiblity so long as they are switched off once the visibility improves. This does not necessarily mean exclusively for foggy conditions. If in heavy rain and extensive spray you are being dazzled by rear fogs then I suggest you are driving too close to the driver in front which is a far more dangerous and common failing today. The whole issue is down to common sense. As for the people who use them in clear conditions, I think we can safely assume the majority are young males whose behaviour can be justifiably ascribed to the young homosapien urge to display and preen themselves in the presence of others. It is a characteristic that maturity seems to diminish. Conversely, people who get annoyed by their use in clear daylight do so not because they are a hazard to themselves(highly unlikely in daylight, and due to other reasons as mentioned earlier), but because they are responding to the aforementioned masculine display of a fellow male with instinctive disdain. Most probably feel they wish they could use their fogs without conscience but feel annoyed that others seem to be able to use them with indifference. Again this comes down to the differing levels of maturity amongst the male automobile driving community. I therefore conclude: 1. Use fogs as per the Highway Code 2. Improper use can be explained by the variance in the masculine homo-sapien behavioral dynamic and is a variable dependent on age and general maturity. 3. Improper use results in inappropriately, excessive responses from drivers who do not employ their use except when needed, perhaps because although their psyche has caused them to pass this 'mental stage of development' their harbour a desire to use them without any psychological impunity. Just a passing thought......
