  1. I'd be up for a Group Buy on Sub enclosure and door pods.
  2. At least yours all work. My rear one doesn't squirt at all :(
  3. Aye still got her. Did 300 miles today on a shopping run from Belgium to Canterbury. Drove like a dream despite the snow/sleet/rain and poo roads. The dreaded pinkness has started again on the paintwork. Will have to get the polish out next weekend.
  4. Car's lookin' well Mr. Hub. Love the phat rims. 8) 8) Them's Ronals on thon red yoke I think.
  5. Excellent. Keep 'em coming! :salute:
  6. Anyone? There must be someone who can recommend a place in the Dover area?
  7. Yup. Parts here in Belgium are horrendously priced too! Drop Alan at Vagparts an e-mail [email protected]. I saved £20 over UK Dealer prices last week on a bunch of trim bits including postage to Belgium.
  8. Hi, I'm working in Belgium at the moment and will be for the foreseeable future. In the southern area where I'm based there don't seem to be any VW specialists, only the local main dealer. The cost of parts, never-mind labour is horrendous compared to the UK, not to mention the language barrier. I can nip across the channel on the Dover-Calais ferry and I was wondering if there are any VW specialists in the Dover area? Even up to a 40 mile radius. Just for normal servicing and MOT etc, I've had (touch wood) all the big jobs done already and I'm not doing a lot of mileage. As an example. Today I priced a pair of Dunlop SP Sport 2000E tyres. Locally 310€ fitted! That's £250! :censored: £140 for the tyres from mytyres.co.uk. At most another £20 for fitting in the UK. £160 all in. Petrol's more expensive here too. So maybe Britain ain't such a rip-off. (the Govt here really hate motorists!) :help:
  9. The number Julian told me to call is 01462 758500 which is dead The number you posted was also dead yesterday but it's working today. Weird! I've e-mailed Vagparts.com for prices now instead. I'm in Belgium at the moment and my French isn't good enough to have complicated discussions at the local Stealers. :)
  10. Both numbers are actually dead. They don't ring at all. Bit worrying.
  11. Oh well. Would prefer to give them my business than the stealers. But since customer service is as high on their agenda as VW's. I guess I'll take my chances and order the bits from VW. SORT IT OUT GPC!!
  12. Just wondering if they're having problems? I need a few bits'n'pieces and e-mailed them last week for a quote. Got a response, but when I tried to call today to confirm the order and pay I couldn't get through on either of the numbers I have??
  13. The bloke used what I can only describe as a big cheesewire which he slipped under the trim and used to saw the glue away. (Hope that makes sense)
  14. Ah! Got ya. Expensive job then! How much was the screen?
  15. Hi, For my old 16 valve I had a nice fitting gaitor from Snappy Gaitors Available in all colours IIRC It covered just the parts that the crappy plastic gaitor did. I also got an alloy handle from Trimsport. Snappy Gaitors Andy Mayer 01270 580730 07984 520943 Was about 5 years ago now, so hope he's still in business. Right good job This is the only pic I have. Belfastfumanchu has the car now so PM him for better ones. PICT0023.jpg[/attachment:1636540b]
  16. Not quite sure how you could get the trim cheaper than them. Surely they have a trade account with VW? So on-top of your £50 glass excess you now have to buy the trim too! :mad2: :confused4: :nono: Not so impressed with RAC Windscreens then. How come we have to do their job when ordering the bits? They should know not just to turn up with a screen. :brickwall: At least you got the nice Sekurit top-tint screen and not the (rumour) crappy Pilkington one. 8) 8)
  17. They're probably meant to come with a new screen if you order it from VW. But these windscreen fitting places normally just order a screen and that's it. I had to ask them to order the trim that goes around the outside of the screen. Guess I should have asked them to order the other bits too.
  18. I ordered the bits from GPC Windscreen Trim 536853829 03C
  19. Looking for a runabout with a towbar. Bloke in work has offered me a 1997 1.8 16v Vectra for buttons. (>£300) Bodywork is ok for an 11 yr old Vauxhall, my expectations ain't too high. Anyone know what the common electrical/mechanical faults are on these yokes? Not that I'm looking to knock the price down. Just don't want to buy a lemon.
  20. I have a Laserline 996 Alarm. Connected to the central locking and performs Total Closure on arming. A few times recently, I have come out in the morning to find the car unlocked. This only seems to happen outside my house. I lock the car when it's in the car park at work too and I have never returned to find it open. How does the Laserline alarm work? Does it use the same radio frequency and code everytime to arm/disarm? (Thinking someone may have grabbed the code) Or perhaps the alarm itself is faulty? Thankfully, nothing has happened to the car yet as I live in a quiet area but it is only a matter of time....
  21. Just had my windscreen replaced today. The plastic trim along the bottom of the screen had been glued on during a previous windscreen replacement and as a result came off in pieces. Can someone please post up the part numbers for the trim and the clips that hold it on. Normally I would just call Volkswagen and explain what I want. But I'm in Southern Belgium and my French isn't good enough for complicated stuff like this.
  22. I'd be happy to pay £35 - £40. Plus send you the gear stick surround on an exchange basis.
