Not got any more pictures of the new bike.....this will change come summer. The lack of diving is something you soon get used to and I'd say allows for later braking into corners as it didn't upset the bike (by the way, the S1000R has normal forks) The speed triple doesn't really compare to the Ducati or BMW for me as its lacking 25BHP and is heavier.

Merry Xmas and a happy (breakdown free) new year to all too.

Can you not remove the bulb and fit an LED in the original holder?

The K1300 was telelever front and at first it was a bit weird but you soon get used to it. It could feel a bit vague when pushed to the limits on tight corners, but usually felt rock solid once in the bends. I liked the K so much it's been a hard decision downsizing to the S1000R which has less bhp & torque but on a plus is a load lighter and handles much better. Ride the BMW as well as the Ducati Monster R which I like (bar comparative price/spec). I always remember the wise words of a once Ducati fan who took his 800 to the TT. He suggested he'd never owned a bike that handled and stopped so well, but then set itself on fire when it rained....he came back a foot passenger. I'm sure Ducati will have sorted the electrics on their newer offerings.

Picked my new toy up at the weekend. So far I've done 6.2 miles due to the fabulous weather. Roll on summer.

Interesting, I must try mine if it plays up again.

Not sure that others would call this a vice :)

You sure it's the valve? I thought mine wasn't working as sometimes she needed foot to board cranking to fire up....when I checked, it was working.

You won't get a photograph of the washer as it goes under the scuttle. Basically, take the drivers side arm off and you'll see a 22mm (ish) nut that holds the mechanism in, remove it. Also remove a 10mm bolt thats on the wiper motor bracket. Once both removed you can push down on the bit the arm bolts to, slide in a 2mm washer onto the underside of the scuttle. Then fasten it all back together.

Not at all. Honestly one of the best mods done so far as visibility in this weather has much improved.

Well the car hasn't missed it for the last 2 years and runs spot on. I'll have to have a look for a spare plug.
-
I'm sure mine doesn't have one - is it necessary? Where does it plug in?

Been looking at new HT leads as I fancy a bit of colour rather than black. Noticed that the 1.8 and 2.0 leads are listed separately, the 2.0 costing more. I've never owned a 1.8 but presumed it'd be the same layout as the 2.0 and that they'd use the same leads. So what's the difference?

I found the bosch ones had the same performance as as normal blades on standard arms (i.e. cr*p) but are fabulous on my E30 arms.

Me too. Remember now the water pump came with cam belt kit, but wasn't driven by it. You may as well change both belts as I'm sure the power steering belt need removing to allow fitment of the alternator belt.
-
Another "from experience" scenario is the revving up which was in my case due to a leak on the intake that caused it to hunt. I sprayed round with carb cleaner to try and find it but didn't, then by chance leant against the elbow on top of the metering head and it regained it's smooth idle. I swapped that part out for a spare I had and have enjoyed smooth idle since.
-
The belt that runs the alternator is easy to do roadside. I personally would recommend you buy a Continental belt having used others (Dayco) that died in weeks. Water pump is powered by the cam belt from memory so if that has died, worth changing the cam belt/tensioner at the same time.

Got me twitching, lol

Last night whilst pootling (cough) down the bypass the front drivers side tyre blew out. Continental tyre so not cheap stuff. I'm guessing Christine (my possessed Corrado) knows I haven't bought her anything for xmas yet - looks like she's getting tyres. I don't think I've ever had a car that's picked up as many punctures or knackered as many tyres as the C.

I use them and they get a thumbs up from me. First tried them on the original arms to see if they would help the poor over 50mph performance - nope, just the same. Recently fitted a set of BMW E30 wiper arms and some 22" aero blades - I don't know how I've managed without them for so long - well worth the mod, cost about £45 all in so much cheaper than Lupo or TT upgrades. Check out my thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?93057-Alternative-wiper-arms-which-ones-fit it has links to an E30 fitting guide and some photographs. Stuart.

Hi Nick, I'm in the market for some breakdown cover and your package looks good. Before I splash the cash, can you tell me who comes out if I breakdown (touches wood) - i.e, RAC, AA, Greenflag or other? -
SWG you say.....where you based and how much?

Just get on ebay and by a replacement with the built in amp (think it was a Hirshman like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hirschmann-HIT-AUTA-16V-Flex-AM-FM-OEM-B-sting-car-roof-aerial-inc-5m-cable-/231546465946?hash=item35e93eae9a:g:UogAAOSwBLlVP8De). I did this and went from radio 1 or 2 only to receiving everything.
