  1. There is two ways around this, PM me if you want to know more, as I dont have the time to type it here atm
  2. my VR6 engine, but unsure of how much they go for. Mods, this isnt a for sale advert, and please anyone reading dont PM me regarding this. Its a v late 2.9 from a N plate rado, covered 105K miles, and has had timing chains, and headgasket done along with other bits. I am considering selling it as I may have a deal coming off to get me something a little better, but I havent a clue what its worth Am thinking of somewhere between 500-1K, whats the right sort of ballpark? Advice please - (and once again, no PM's or anything related to this, as its not definitely for sale as yet) Muchos thankyou's
  3. I just got some 288mm discs, they were £49 + VAT at GSF for Brembo plain discs. If you get some non VAG, go for quality
  4. The mounting points on the 4 and 5 stud hubs are different in terms of the offset needed on the disc - a 4 stud disc has a much heavier offset than a 5 stud one for this reason, so the only disc you can mount with a 4 stud hub is a 4 stud disc Regarding the 18's, I couldnt tell you, but they will stick further out from the bodywork than a standard VW 5x100 wheel
  5. The 5 stud setup is a wider track than the 4 stud rado setup The only way to use the 4 stud rado wishbones and still run 5 stud is to use a 5 stud drive flange, with a new bearing in the existing 4 stud hub - then you will have to redrill the existing disc to 5x100. This can be done with no problems Just as a bit of additional information, the 4 stud setup on a rado or MK2/3 golf uses a ET35 wheel, whereas the wider 5 stud setup is offset with an ET43 wheel. We will ignore the MK3 4 stud widetrack setup in this instance......
  6. MK3 5 stud is the same as rado 5 stud What you need is 5 stud wishbones, ARB, driveshafts (longer length and bigger outer cv) and also the hubs. The choice of brakes is then 280mm as fitted to rado VR's or early MK3's, or 288's off later mk3's. I'm not entirely sure that the MK4 288 is the same, but I would think it would be
  7. Have you got any links to those two log manifolds above? Cheers Chris
  8. His son is called Trevor and is a good driver himself. The Reeves dont need any introduction in the VW world, they both are very good cars and are pedalled extremely well

    Bootlid widths

I'm in berks and have a late bootlid for sale if you need to check widths
  10. I dont agree with that, otherwise why would tuners, including Stealth, change the inlet and TB on ODB1 Golfs to that of the Corrado? Surely this lends weight to the fact that the 2.9TB is larger than that of the ODB1 Golf. Surely somewhere on here there are the pics or facts about this?
  11. I heard my name mentioned, and without wanting to step on anyone's toes at all, I have an axle that is totally complete, ABS sensors, handbrake cables, stubs, calipers, discs, the lot. If this is more appealing (and like I say, not trying to step on any toes) then let me know
  12. Sorry, I dont know where the corrado is, but I do want a job at BMW Bracknell, esp as its just round the corner from where I live
  13. List up your gearbox code for the 1.8 16v box, and if no-one does it before this evening I'll look it up on ETKA so you can see what it is like in comparison to a VR box and also a MK3 16v box
  14. First off, define what you want out of the engine, good road speed, long ratios for cruising, or shorter ones for sprinting? I do know that the box that is regarding as the best for conversions (when done in a MK2) for a good comparision to the ratios of a MK2 16v road box is that of a MK3 16v - this is a cable change box that has a 3.6 FD and the same individual ratios as that of a VR box. Essentially this gives reasonable sprinting ratios, whilst still giving a reasonable cruising aspect as well. But like I said, it depends on what you want.....
  15. I'll have one too, as above, PM me the details of payment and I'll sort it out for you Ta
  16. syn. - syncro var. varient, or estate
  17. Chris - I knew you'd be able to enlighten if I pointed you in this direction. As ever I learn a little more :)
  18. The metal HD used by many instead of the original fitment type is not £100.... How much are they charging you for the 6 branch? Be good to see pics of it once you have the car back (or before if you can)
  19. This is your old rollcage phatty my current project
  20. Get a proper one made specifically to your car - IMO the best way
  21. The new shape 3 due to be released soon is rumoured to have the 3L twin T engine from the current 535 - then you'll know what quick is (for a diesel of course)
  22. They are £90 each (new) from the dealers
  23. Not paying the £120, hmm thats what I thought as well You need to find a late GTI MK3 or a VR, got to be post 96 from memory. The good news is that you can sell on your 280mm calipers and carriers to a Corrado non G60 or MK2 Golf owner as they are a bolt on upgrade for those guys
