  1. That is incorrect.... You will find comparing the water temp guage via the oil temp on the mfa that the water temp actually increases quicker.... hence why its important from cold start to watch the oil temp before revving it rather than the water!
  2. Mobile One Oil is MUCH too thin for pretty much any VW engine except the newer turbo's , etc.... Change it for 10W 40 quantum and see how you get on. Driving will be fine. Scott
  3. What you use to race mate? I race in the BRCA regional / nationals comps with 1/10th off road. Scott.
  4. A total waste of time.... I do actually keep all my tax discs for the Corrado though and keep them with the history  Scott.

    Inters fun and games

LOL - you nutter!!! Its a HUGE task..... Not particularly hard but very fiddly and easy to break things... took me 8hrs to do mine and I aint no amateur
  7. Will second you on the Fulda's..... had them on old Corrado - superb tyres and great value for money. I run Yokohama AVS Sports and they are simply awesome! - £54 per tyre though..... Scott.
  8. 30 mins!!!! It shouldnt even take you half of that mate!!.... :D
  9. the leads from gsf are utter crock.... dont waste your time with them.
  10. Sorry to be a party pooper Scott, but at 4k rpm you'll only just be making 170-ish BHP, power peaks at approx. 5500 rpm. More importantly torque peaks around 4200rpm.... I stand corrected 8) I should know this as have the ruddy power graph lol!!!
  11. Fair do mate - I'm not a fan of high revving engines hence why questioned - if it picks up from those kind of revs then its a better engine than I thought as most valvers dont seem to go well at all until around 4k rpm.... my mates 170bhp Celica is a prime example (nothing happens till 5k rpm!!)... wouldnt mind a test drive in one!! - not a chance of getting my mitts on my mates  The 306 is a good car - I put 40k miles on mine a year - its reliable and handles better than 95% of most hot hatches - when the time comes to trade mine in I will be upgrading it to a phase 2 HDi model that I'm told isnt as tunable but is a good car in its own right. 145lbft torque from a 90bhp diesel aint no small figure and thats the mechanical injection one!!! 8) Corrados are expensive cars but then thats what you pay for a car you rarely see on the road and was made in small numbers.... its a car that turns heads where ever we go and gets respect from people in the know and questioning looks from those who dont.... thats why I bought a VR6 :) So ok it can be beat round corners by serious machinery but has the cubes to out accelerate quite alot even now when the youngest is 9yrs old... thats some mean feat but there is no denying that the Corrado shape is simply one of the best looking coupes of all time. mucho respect Pug geezer 8) Scott
  12. So basically reading between the lines you have to rev the bollards off the Pug to get it to respond within the rev range to make for entertainment...??? Dont get me wrong it sounds great - but people dont buy a VR6 to do that..... :D I bought a VR6 for its low down torque and beautiful roar of nearly 200bhp at just 4000rpm.... *:) As for the handling I have a Pug 306 XDT and it handles very well... but its no where near a match for my VR6 8) Scott
  13. Exactly what am going to do myself..... the labour is the killer - the parts are cheap. Got a local engineering guy doing the head for me... my only concerns come to timing it up properly - can anyone advise? Also how much of a nightmare is it to get the gearbox off? Cheers Scott
  14. There isnt one GTi-6 in the world in standard form that can match a VR6 in standard trim..... even my mate who owns a S reg GTi-6 describes the performance as 'nippy' but not mind blowing........
  15. how did you tweak the fuelling on the D turbo mate? :) - got a XRDT with the same engine and want to give it little more poke 8) Scott
  16. Max RMS of the 5 1/4's are 75W... the rest are lower. So I would have thought that the stereo amp would be adequate. Seems as though the wiring is miles off - will see if can re wire it... not so sure about the dash mounted co axials - reckon they should be tweeters only>? Just seems when turn it up it sounds tingy and the if turn it up more then 4*6's in the back start to break up...
  17. I am using the orig VW loom... does anyone know which colours are positive / negative so I can check??
  18. Hi All, I have installed new speakers in my corrado - Kicker dual axials.... supposed to be excellent speakers!!! - But they lack depth, sound tiny and have little bass.... Can anyone explain why? I have: two 6*4's in rear two 5 1/4's in doors and two 4 inch in the dash... I did notice that the ones in the dash dont fit very well when removing the tweeters and sticking new speakers in dash I have a 1cm hole round the speaker.... but the rest of them fit spot on.... Do I need to get an amp to run these speakers (DX series) - running a Pioneer mosfet 45w*4 OEL unit ... Any help appreciated as really fed up with sound system at moment... my OE stereo in my Pug sounds better!!! Cheers Scott.
  19. Ah right - thats next to the nightclub? Mine is a K plate.... Aqua Blue.
