  1. I don't see why it wouldn't work? Just a worry if no other manufacturer has tried it there must be a reason. I realise I haven't helped this topic what so ever.....
  2. Well done mate, sorry missed your call, family problems... it would have been a small bloody problem wouldn't it! glad it's firing on all cylinders! I'm still waiting to have a go - 3 years now!
  3. I'm not using my car that much at the moment and so have been filling up with Ultimate as apparently optimax reduces in Octane if left for too long *apparently* Actually I nearly always use Ultimate since it came out and Optimax if a BP garage is too far away. Never tried unleaded - don't see the point if Super is suppose to be better for the engine and gives a better mpg so the costs should be quite even overall.
  4. No I haven't seen one I really want at the moment, have been checking ebay also. The good news is I just got my insurance renewed today for £780 fully comp with breakdown cover and everything else with Admiral, Well Impressed!! bloody esure or egg (I've forgotten) quoted me £2,400! Got to pay my months train to London from Guildford which is too fockin much (marther focker, genious) I will keep searching for the MK2! I need to start saving to get the bits for the C - I think I lost the whole point of the exercise - Take the C off the road and save money to fix everything at once by spending new insurance money on a runabout. Now I have insured the C and want a golf gti as well ?
  5. Agreed that Karmann is dam nice! Rekon the RS's would look good on it also
  6. Okay okay, when they are both sitting at idle the OE is quiter when they are at full pelt the OE is quiter and boring but when you are cruising on the motorway at 80 mph I can hear nothing with the Milltek very comfortable driving.
  7. Get a Milltek! sounds awesome when you want it to I think it's quieter than OE system but when you really push it you get this awesome raspy note! highly recommended!
  8. Not 100% sure about a 320is to be honest, was told there were a few different versions in E30 form - Italians had a different one or something? Thought the E30 M3 was a 2.3? Any way - It is really a non spending car I'm looking for but I would actually like a mk2 gti 8v now, I might even spend some money on it you never know.... Seen some 1994 Saab 900's for under £1k they don't look too bad also. I think it's going to be an 8v gti mk2 Golf in the end - have a bmw mechanic friend that told me all the E30 BM's look a mess that he has had in to work on, he's had a few Golf's and said he'll come with me and get it up on the ramps before I buy - if the seller will let me. Wish I'd done the same with my C after replacing brake bias, all brake lines etc within 6 months of owning...
  9. Good advice Kev, I definitely don't want to start tweaking two cars, my objective is to find one that will run fine and not need anything doing to it, full Tax and MOT and good tyres. I'm sorry but I really could not bring myself to sit in a mondeo let alone be seen driving one. I have no issue with drving a golf with dents or rust in but not a mondeo. I have a general hate against Vauxhalls and Fords - I could even drive a micra without feeling embarrased
  10. Wow really? 84k!? haven't seen any mk2 GTI's under 100k for under 1,000 maybe I should hold out as my favourite is £950 on autotrader with 130,000 miles. Not so sure about the scirocco, will have a look around, the Blue GLX sounds good, wasn't too convinced on the brown one on autotrader - yuk, no offense to anyone with a brown car - I'm brown but don't want my car to be!
  11. Jim - Scirocco! thats a good plan! I'll have a look on autotrader Bally - I think i'll go and have a look at the 16v
  12. I'm swaying towards a mk2 GTI 8v as a few people tell me they have less bhp but have more torque and more enjoyable to drive. Never been in a 16v mk2 so no first hand experience. Would like the big bumpers and the bbs 15's. I don't think I'll be driving a mondayow thankyou...... Seen a nice mk2 gti black with bbs 15's on autotrader for £950 130,000 miles - looks really nice, think it's a 16v though
  13. Hi people I have decided to take the C off the road for a bit and just get everything as I want it. I need to get myself a run about and am pretty sure a C for £1k would be pretty unreliable unless anyone esle says different. okay thoughts: - Mk2 GTI 16v or 8v Mk3 GTI BMW E30 318is, 320(is) or 325 Toyota MR2 Nissan 200sx I think my C might need a new clutch, slave cylinder, new breaks up front, wheels refurbed, new tyres and new insurance - best quote £1120 BARSTewARDS nearly 23 and 1yr NCD
  14. Thanks guys, good link Ryan, prices were quite good also, my tyres are knackered so will just rip them off if poss and send them in. Think they need a full blast and maybe some filling in here and there. Has anyone seen any mirror polished solitudes??
  15. nobody? how about west sussex? anyone have any recommendations and costs? thought about doing them in a graphite colour
  16. I have 4 BBS solitudes which are wanting to go on my car, after closer examination they are looking a big weathered everywhere. I was initially just going to get the outsides done but want the whole alloys blasting and refurbed. Where do I go - I'm near Guildford Spit n' Polish in Kent maybe, but as I'm constantly working have no time to take them there, any ideas? costs? Have 4 Bridgestone RE-720's on order - some ones going to be speeding!!!
  17. I might be interested also - I can see the FK's corroding, not really a big fan of them. Depends on price also. Any life time claims on them or anything?
  18. The candidate should have a track record of high volume sales Excellent staff management skills English Speaker, local language not essential Car dealership experience The person will have operational control of the entire dealership
  19. Very random, but, they want an English, car mad person with a strong sales background so thought here was a good place to start. If anyone is interested in relocating to Czech Republic to work in Automotive Sales - my client will pay you approx £130K pa (average bonuses) If you know anyone interested also please let me know Company - AAA Auto - http://www.aaaauto.cz CV's - mailto:[email protected] Job Title - General Manager The candidate should have a proven track record in automotive sales in similar companies. £90K in Eastern Europe buys you a hell of a lot more than here - might be hard to find a Corrado though

    VR6 engines

same as the mk3 golf VR6 I think, 174 hp, sounds good and thats about all I know. I think they are the same block but the Corrado one is bored out? I'm sure I'll be corrected
  21. That actually looks really good!!!
