Talk to John at JMR in West Sussex - On the way to Worthing. He is 16vG60 on the forum. Lots of people have done this mod with some people pushing over 300+ HP. Will cost some to get it right though

Anymore verdicts of this post? Took my car to a place in Guildford last week and they said "oh thats just a typical VW noise" well they don't do it when they are new! So what is it? I still don't know - so far I have had "could be the clutch...." "could be the release bearings..." "could be the brakes..." DICK! "could be the slave cylinder...." "could be a mouse....." oh dear, this has been said 4 times now sorry I'm angry today

Possibly a new Volkswagen Contact I hope!

Ah you serious? It's the auto industry they will sack you if you don't do Sundays when assigned. Have left the idea of working in a dealership, would be willing to do one saturday a month but not more. Have handed my Notice in and my last day is tomorrow and I haven't got myself a new job.... Thinking of setting up my own company but keeping it quiet for now.... Otherwise I'll be back as a recruitment consultant in Guildford or Reading or somewhere not in smelly London - I like my trees, grass and horse shit in the road! -
Rent out a electric buffer/polisher from Jewsons or similar and get some decent compound - don't push hard or you'll see the metal! just let the weight of the polisher do it all. Did it on my old 3 series after someone poured paint stripper or acid on it, nice people.... Looked like new after though! then stacked it into a crash barrier after receiving a Tiff Needle DVD and power sliding around some rounderbouts....

Yeah I hate it to I'd have three of them to go with my small ....'s That Bently looks amazing, I'd have a Continental GT and an Enzo also please! Obviously with my lottery win - wouldn't buy a house just live in the cars in a field! Why keep all your hard earned money in a bank account? -
Yeah mine does this too, I have been blaming it on the konigsports but if it's not I would be very happy to find out what it is as I've just had the ball joints replaced on the front droplink/anti-roll bar

Well... the interview went well from my side I think. I so wanted the job until I found out about the hours. Monday - Saturday (with rota for having 1 week day off - tues, wed and thurs) Every second Sunday working also. So I would be required to work a whole weekend every other week. Not cool, back to the drawing board -

well... not too far off 6 months recruitment, about 3 years part time with Dennis doing Golf and Sporting Events Management and having to bring on new clients and about two months telesales before all of that. Not too far off two years I rekon, did that placement year from uni with General Motors and did some sales there also but mainly I.T. rubbish - about as fun as none -

Very good advice, yes I am a reasonably young one - 22, I have a 4year Computing and I.T. degree, nearly 2 years sales experience, currently in recruitment but want to get into the automotive industry. I'm thinking get some experience with a dealership and learn some German and see where it all takes me - hopefully Porsche Head Ofice in Reading! -

God thats expensive! I haven't got the job yet, I hope I get it though, they do Audi's, BMW's and Mercedes also. They have a used division but never seen any Corrado's there. Hope I don't have to work every Saturday though as I think they do -

I did but you didn't pick up! I honestly found out 5 mins ago, how cool! The old Lady is friends with the FD for the company and the person interviewing me used to insure the company through my Mum -
Completely off the topic but... I have an Interview to be a Sales Exec at Volkswagen Colbornes in Guildford on Saturday! So excited! Had enough of commuting to London everyday from Guildford and maybe I can get discount parts for the C. I probably won't get it but I will try my best! I have no idea about VW's new model range - better do some research!

I am extremely happy with my Milltek! http://www.millteksport.com/ I do not work for them but I have one fitted to my VR6. I am sure some people have had problems with all systems but as John said it comes down to the fitting. I changed purely because the standard system was 10 years old and needed a change. Milltek has one of the best reputations with German sports cars which can be viewed from their website and the fact John has one fitted to his motor - which is one of the hottest Corrado's in the country! It's stupid slagging off a product on a forum that atleast a relevant percentage of users own. I know Supersprint are good - Asim and Kev have them. I know Magnex are good - Guy has one. Ben has a powerflow because it is the most custom you can get on an off the shelf product. None of them complain. Myself, Woody and John have Milltek's on our much loved vehicles and have no problems. I bought the Milltek because of the name, guarantee, image and finish not because I wanted a loud noise or the car to go 1% faster.

Kebabman - Yes thats exactly the problem I have, it makes that same noise especially in the instance you wrote about - really bloody annoying I don't want to go quite to the extremes that 2CC did to fix it though unless I have to

Getting rid of the green stuff from the winter
biggerbigneil replied to biggerbigneil's topic in Exterior
Cheers Jim and Musicman, I thought I'd it somewhere to but couldn't find it. I saw some advert about this product that removes dirt, moss, rust etc from just spraying it on. Can't remember the name but thought it must be very powerful to remove rust so wasn't going to risk it on rubber -
I was looking at a few products for removing the green stuff (moss?) on the door window rubbers and the sunroof trim. Anyone know of any good stuff to use? It's the part that touches the exterior side of the door windows, so don't want to attack it with something too strong incase it ruins the seal. Cheers

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
biggerbigneil replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
Hi mate, looks good! Body kit and alloys look smart, I'd keep it all on unless you want to get gti aniversary kit on including the BBS alloys. But even then I think they would both look just as smart! Just drive the thing and spend the extra time and money finishing the Corrado! -
OK, we know your cars, where did your names come from???

Where does Vince work?

We'll have to keep each other updated how to fix it then if a few people are having this problem. Thanks for the details though. Neil

Thanks guys, will get some help with all sugestions, CRB? clutch release bearing? I think thats what my mechanic friend thought it was, he'll fit a new clutch for me for £100 if I supply the parts as he can use the ramps at BMW on Saturdays. I'm sure the cars didn't do this from new so something is either dry or slowly wearing out. How long should clutches last anyway - I'm not quite on 70k yet It is very annoying leaving peoples houses or in town centers when my pride and joy squeaks when I get going. Kev - your right it creaks when I press down the peddle, how did you solve the problem? did you replace the pressure plate fingers and the ceramic actuator arm ball? Scruffy - have tried that also and doesn't sound like it's the actual clutch plates slipping then.
-
Hi everyone! Okay a bit of a problem. When I am at standstill and drive off in 1st gear I get a squeaking noise from up front and it's not the calipers. I don't think it happens if i do the same in second. The clutch does not slip at all. If I press in the clutch (in or out of gear, with the engine on or off) it squeaks, if i push the clutch down really slowly I can hear 7 small clicks and also 7 small clicks if i lift my foot off slowly. No problems with the car driving except one day when the car got rreally hot (traffic jam getting lost in London) I let my foot off really slowly into second and the clutch banged down (happened twice and my foot didn't slip) This is all typed so badly but if anyone has any ideas - new clutch, slave cylinder, clutch bearings? No idea, I've spent 4k now on the car since Easter 94 (not including tyres, servicing, BBS RS's, Milltek, FK's, petrol, just mechanical things) but I think this might be the last problem!
