B*****ks didnt know that! wonder if i could get in coming out on the driver side???
-
Exhaust styled like this... but on a rado, obvioulsy i wouldnt be able to do the cut out..but i think it would look cool...??
-
just looked at that... the car isnt to my taste but i think the idea of a side exit exhaust is really cool.. i would probably go for something similar but not have the tailpipe design like that... but something a bit more simple
-
mines now at 98k...
-
thats cameron diaz darren... :D my turn.. hehe
-
exactly what i thought!! just reading thru this months pvw... luv the look of the mk3 golf with the side exit... look so mean!
-
Has anyone got any pics of a corrado with a side exit exhaust that they can show me...? :D
-
Yeah its pretty much totalled the piston.. the bore is still perfect tho thank god! If they are the same then i will prob want one asap! ( you may have just saved his day! ) aslong as i wont have issues fitting it to the current rods and crank... PM me a price etc and we can take it from there! really is a shame as the engine was running 183bhp before this happend... Cheers Mike
-
are you sure they are the same size as the 9a Pistons? if so we may need one of them from you as i cant find anywhere else! any idea on how much? PM some piccies :D

My bro had a mishap with a washer on tuesday night which left the head knackerd and the piston looking like this... Personally i dont think he will get away with using the piston in its current state... do vw still sell new pistons for the 2L 9a 16v engine?? Or does anyone know anyone with a spare piston available??
-
go to 1.9 mate! quite cheap to do if you go to the right people  Pistons will cost around £400 - £500 and a rebore and the other parts (bearing shells & gasket kit etc etc) will prob total £300 so around 800 - 900 all in for what would be practically a new 1.9 bottem end which will last for ages and give good power too! use the 83mm pistons.. Iam sure the likes of G-werks can build an engine for you at the right price..
-
yep have to agree! the forum gave you an honest answer we are not biased at all! if G-werks was a crap company we would say so... and come to think of it, alot of other forums would say so aswell... hence why G-werks have a good reputation not only on here but on a number of other forums and websites :)
-
well surely if 99% of the users on this forum reccomend G-werks that cant be a bad thing..?? it depends what you want doing really? Absolutely nothing wrong with G-werks from the experience i ve had dealing with them...certainly wouldnt go anywhere else at the moment! especially for G60s...
-
i am running 195/40 16" on an 8" wide rim...nice stretch and you can still drive the car without the fear of the tyres failing... i ve been running them for a while and never had any problems... and i do drive fairly quickly at times...lol :D

yeah, should be in the shops wednesday / thursday i think...?

In this months PVW you will find a nice feature on G-werks.. Had a quick look at it today whilst i was there..very nicely done to! Its a 5 page feature! Well done to Darren & all @ G-werks for all your hard work and efforts! Certainly is paying off now!! :thumb right: Also has Big Rons Mk1 Vr6 on the front cover so its a bit of a special issue to say the least!!!

the car is alot more lively compared to the piper 270 cam... it pulls like a train even from low down which i wasnt expecting as its slightly more of an aggressive cam... After 3 k revs or so the car really takes ofF! and the power delivery is very linear aswell so its not like at you have no torque and then suddenly you have bags of it etc.. its all spread out quite nicely with this setup.. really wish i had put this cam on first of all.. you wont regret getting one! Idle seems to be ok too... although i have a front solid mount on at the mo, which makes the car vibrate a little anyway..so wont really know the outcome untill i swap over to a different uprated mount...
-
A record! 3 days this week!...! What you dont know is that i secretly work there... lol :D
-
can i have one then darren?
-
looking like the one to go for then! cheers mate I do like the feel of the solid mount when under acceleration, but after having one on the car for a year i am pretty fed up with the vibrations now..
-
I am getting a bit frustrated with the immense vibrations coming through the cabin of my corrado with the BBM solid front mount on my car.. I was thinking about something like this?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vw-Sports-Front-Engine-Mount-Gti-Corrado-G60-Rallye_W0QQitemZ330059891747QQihZ014QQcategoryZ72205QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I think this is a G-werks item judging by the ebay add?? I want something thats gunna hold the engine nicely but is not gunna ratttle my cabin to bits??
-
i dunno.... it depends what gearbox he has on the golf?? if its a normal 8v box and you are right in the powerband then i am sure it would take off! also noticed he changes gear quite soon after accelerating so he must have been at atleast 4k rpm to get that kinda acceleration...?
-
I would say it it worth doing yeah, especially if you plan to flow the head and add a cam later on... The G-werks Manifolds work well, i have one on my car.. very happy with it.. You could also try the supersprint manifolds... although these have a smaller diameter header.. http://www.g-werks.co.uk/Products_Exhausts/Default.aspx

Ahh thats not too bad! cheers Darren!

Fitted my new Schrick split profile cam today. i have set the cam timing as per the original g60 timing marks, now as far as i know these timing marks are only suited to the stock cam and i will need to correctly time in the cam as per the spec etc.. Only thing is i cant seem to find any info o the camshaft itself with regards to setting it up?? Does anyone know where i can find it.. nothing came with the cam that tells me at what point the cam needs to be timed in correctly to get a base setting.. I have a timing disc somewhere which i can use hopefully to get the timing somewhere correct...providing i have the info from the cam..?
