  1. You really need to use the bolts that come with the adapters to be honest although the g60 ones should be ok?? as far as the allen key bolts are concerned i did them up to the standard wheel bolt torque which is somink like 110lbs or was it 110 nm??? somink like that... pretty tight so they dont come loose!
  2. Perfectly safe to use! just make sure everything is correctly tightened.
  3. Has anyone had any experience with the Garmin StreetPilot i Series?? My GF is thinking of getting me one for christmas as i am always getting lost!
  4. Yeah this could get out of hand! i only wanna try a more powerful pump as i am in the process of trying to eliminate a problem... if the problem is sorted with this impreza pump then i may look into getting a sytec pump, i dont really wanna spend £90 on a sytec pump if its not needed??
  5. thanks for the subaru pump gazza! i hope this will sort me out for a while! :D Judging by your experiences with them i am sure it will work fine on my setup!
  6. I will take my chances and use the screwdriver method... :) I think i may also go for the walbro 255 pump and try to adapt it somehow... Quite a bit cheaper than stealer prices! I think the car is leaning out occasionally at high revs / high boost which is causing the car to pink and bleed boost... if i can get myself a decent pump then atleast i wont need to touch that again in the future.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WALBRO-FUEL-PUMP-00-06-SUBARU-IMPREZA-255LPH_W0QQitemZ190041396179QQihZ009QQcategoryZ72205QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Although there seems to be 2 different types of 255 walbro pump??
  7. Gazza what subaru pump is required? is there any differences in models?? Also i just had a quick look... i cant work out how the top part comes off tho?? does it just pull off? it seems stuck down..
  8. Will have to have a look TM then... and see if i can get it out! cheers guys
  9. Before i start to get out of my depth wear exactly is the pump located in the tank? i had a quick look today but couldnt really locate it... probably due to the lack of light
  10. Have a look on here... these pumps are AFAIK much better than the standard items! i am looking at gettin one for mine. http://www.fuelsystem.co.uk/injection.htm
  11. so how do we go about fitting a suburu pump then??
  12. Have they been chromed? or powder coated mate?
  13. does the tooth cutout line up with the timing mark on the rocker cover? the two marks have got to sit either side of the timing mark on the rocker cover?? is there a small dot timing mark on the other sode of the cam pulley roughly in the middle of the 2 on the outside?
  14. from a standing start i think the r32 will have ya... although at speed ur g60 should be able to easily keep up??
  15. when i last had mine at those sorta speeds i was at 160 and if it not been for my lack of bottle it would have carried on well into 165... it would also depend where the rev limiter is set in the engine map having a slightly higher rev limit would increase top end speed... I know its prob more like 145 - 150 in reality... but that still bloody good for a 15 year old car!

    10k Boost

thats what i thought but i had a look inside the engine throught the plugs yday and it looks pretty gummed up with carbon??? I also wanna take out my injectors and get them ultrasonically cleaned ( i have a cleaner at work ).. i wanna make sure 100% that i am getting a good fuel flow and there is no carbon deposits inside the engine... all of which can cause pinking and irregular running... and as i am trying to solve this stupid pinking problem i might aswell do what i can??
  17. i Would be very suprised if that wasnt leads to be honest andy!! Just change them for some of the gsf beru leads... they are good enough and if its not the leasds at least you wont have wasted £69 on magnecors...

    10k Boost

Has anyone had any experience with this?? i am planning on using on my G60?? http://www.difflock.com/buyersguide/newproducts/10k_boost/index.shtml
  19. i have a pinking problem with my car at higher revs.... i am starting to think that maybe its due to a leak somewhere... either through inlet & manifold or the injector seals... if a car has been custom mapped any slight problem with the car will show up 10 times worse than it would than with a standard car as its that much more refined when the car is spot on... I think its just gonna be a case of checking everything and changing / fxing what you know could be the problem and take it from there... your main one being that blowing manifold. I have checked pretty much everything on my car including the fuel pump and all is ok yet the car still pinks at higher revs... causing the knock sensor to kick in and steal 5 psi of boost and blow it out of the ISV...
  20. have a look here matey! loadsa info on the 2Litre conversion.. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41171
  21. Nah dont 20v turbo it.... 200+bhp is achievable on a 2Ltr 16v... dont get me wrong 20v turbo units are very very good, its just not very "original" at the moment...( it gets a bit boring after a while looking at the same engine in practically every modified vw around.. 8) ) and a minimalistic bay with a nice healthy 2Ltr 16v is defo the way to go mate!
