Useful info that is Mawrick ;)

Nice one, glad you're sorted at last ;) It's got me scratching my head though lol. I know the timing was good as did that with the cam belt. I wonder if the rotor arm had got loose? (I didn't touch that, only the distributor body when tweaking the timing.) I had it on a MK1 Golf recently - the rotor arm itself looked like new, but you could wiggle it on the dizzy shaft an alarming amount. Surprisingly the car seemed to run ok so guess it was centrifugal force keeping it in the right place? Anyway, it's working right so that's great news :) Bulbs look bright too!

The lambda isn't original one so it should be ok and there were no fault codes from it once sorted so I wouldn't waste money on it to be honest.

You know I'd help if was closer Wayne. You're welcome to bring it over to my unit if it can make the trip! ;)

That's good news, look forward to the pics. There was discussion about Longlife on the MK2 Golf OC forum - equally good feedback and their lifetime warranty goes with the car, so if you ever sell it the next owner benefits too. Can't argue with service like that ;)

Your financial advisor approves of the spend!! LOL :thumbleft: Hopefully someone local can lend a hand ;)

Welcome John! Hopefully you can find your dream C soon enough, there seems to be a fair few out there for sale right now - although not all to your spec! I like your sig pic ;)

Nice to see it again Toby! I think this time of year it will be 50 shades of brown! lol At least once you've got the paint done and a nice coat of wax the dirt should just slide off with a quick hose down. I loved the way this one handles, always grinning and better than my VR. Ref the running issue, aside oil and filter change I don't think any else will be due down to time or mileage (check the spreadsheet ;) ) as I replaced most things when I got it to sort the running issues I had back then, so don't waste your money on dizzy cap, rotor arm etc. The only thing I never did was the plug leads - I was on the verge of doing them when I found the loose lambda wire which sorted the problems back then so didn't bother. So that would be the only other thing I'd consider. As an aside, have you been keeping track of Peacedub's thread on his valver? - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=89926 He's recently done some tests on his metering head to sort out his running issues. Maybe worth doing some checks similar to see if you have any other problems. Again, not an area I checked other than cleaning and re-setting the metering flap as lambda wire sorted everything else.

Great news, at least all of your hard work and patience has paid off! :)

Don't bother buyer the seals Wayne until you know all of your drain tubes are all clear, otherwise you could be wasting your money and find it still leaks! ;)

Wow, that must go like stink!! I had a GTI-6 back in the day (and loved it!) so in the 205 with a hair dryer strapped to it, it must be mental!! lol
-
Nice one!! :thumbleft: Mine's my daily but not doing quite that many miles
-
Sorry missed the 205 in your pics - too busy looking at the Rado! lol Would have seen what colour it is there :thumbleft:

Blimey that is a bible! What is frozen white? Solid, metallic?
-
Pleased to hear it, hopefully we'll soon be hearing your tales of driving and enjoying it ;)
-
Welcome to the forum Garry. That doesn't look too bad at all ;)
-
Nice tidy up of the chassis legs ;)
-
It was a pleasure Wayne. Apologies though - we were so busy chatting I never got the kettle on!! Hopefully these few days will give you some inspiration to get the right bits done on your VR and keep it! ;) (Dave's VR is stunning )

Thanks Roger. My logic was telling me that but thought it's worth double checking ;)

Not great news Toby but have to say I'm baffled. The loom was installed as per the instructions that came with it and it's always worked ok.

Looks like you're having a good tour, hope the kids are enjoying ;) Hopefully see you Tuesday
