Dan i was thinkin of all reds but i dunno how id get the reverse lights to shine white still? Rams ive also changed the switches for weather proof ones from maplins. Think i paid 3 or 4 quid for two. The silly green ones they supply with the solenoids look poo Kempy maybe yourd jus needs a little adjustment?
-
cool i shall pop over once its complete as i had i scrap door i though id do a test fit of a solenoid for the door poppers. Was a right fiddle but ive positioned it in a way so i can get the thing mounted easily ( i wont have the big gaping hole to stick it through)also so its easy to adjust the slack on the wire

havent mounted them yet as the car is still in the bodyshop. ive got a spare door which i have used as a test bed.I cut away the whole handle area to see where i could put it.Im going to bolt the mount for the solenoid on the side the that the latch is bolted to. so basically its under the lock.It was the only place i could see it going without it interfering with the window. Still looks like it will be a sodding arse to fit though. in the meantime feast your eyes on my car before it went in for paint....

i have an ai606 on my rado. seeing as the doors are shaved i was wondering if i can use any of the spare outputs to pop the doors? in the instructions it states i can have a boot release ( optional output ) and on the other channel is an optional auxillary output. Boot/hatch release (optional output and vehicle dependant) If your vehicle has a boot release solenoid it can be activated from the radio key by pressing button 3 on your remote control for 3 seconds. If the alarm system is already armed when button 3 is pressed, the internal motion sensors and the boot switch sensing will be disabled to ensure that the alarm is not triggered. The sensors in the boot will remain inactive until 20 seconds after the boot has been closed, then re-enabled so that your vehicle is again fully protected. The siren will emit a small chirp every 6 seconds to indicate the boot is still open. To ensure your safety when driving, this feature cannot be activated when the ignition is on. If your vehicle does not have the appropriate solenoid and relay, it may be possible for a TOAD dealer to fit these for you. Optional auxilliary output The alarm system can be used to remotely activate a feature, such as your headlights. This can be useful for your peace-of mind, when entering and exiting an unlit car park for example. Pressing button 4 for 3 seconds will activate this function for a time period. If your vehicle does not have the appropriate control mechanism, it may be possible for your TOAD dealer to fit this for you. ----------------- can i use the boot release to open one door and the optional one for the passenger door? it sounds like the two channels do different things so im confused
-
haha heres some progress of the bumper
-
thanks man, i got the other door handle flushed (only took pics of the primer stage though)
-
maybe different models had a different plug end so this might be fitted to the wiring to allow you to use the neuspeed one. i dunno just a guess really
-
haha cheers mrbeige rams there is no rush :D id love to have flared arches but it would take me so long to do. i want it back on the road asap in one colour. would you believe i dont even drive it at the moment because it looks a state
-
good progress, strange how you dont have the hole that i have on the inner wing. ill get a pic when i take the wing off again
-
yes dan im going to make a fibreglass backing to channel the air from the vent to my air filter. Probably just as well im doing that as the inner wing looks poop behind the vent as it is
-
finally it feels like im getting somewhere! welded up drivers side side repeater filled primed and guide coat flattened and painted bumper tow eye shaved! and painted heres the badgeless, seamless and smooth bumper in one shot vw badge ... bye bye other corner passenger side repeater gone and finally a couple of the wing vent
