Currently a group buy for the full DB kit on Volksdevil 8) http://z14.invisionfree.com/volksdevil/index.php?showtopic=10279

Cheers mate, the manifolds hopefully going on very soon :D Along with a new system, wideband kit 8) and some other bits, then mapping :D I want to see what the new power figure is before i run the nitrous really. 206 to beat!
-
My late 92 has the crap. :)
-
Its a wet kit Neil. :) The timing is currently at 6deg btdc, but ive run it at 8 with no probs so ill leave it at 6 for now with small jets and see how it goes. 8) Just got back from the unit :cuckoo: Couple more of the air box modifications... Sorted a propper plug for the cossie intercooler, i didn't want it welded up as it may come in handy some time. The pipe now with the boss welded on. Tapped it, m8x1.0mm and filed down the boss. Fitted/loctited the nitrous fogger. How it will roughly sit.
-
My 92 G60 had that part too, currently removed while working on the car.
-
The weather made it look a bit dirty, but perfectly legal ill have ya know   Aye, the rado above also had an early bumper with one late headlight, and one early! But the lad is on with sorting it i think 8) Looks the norm to me mate :) Neil.
-
Not any good ones that i can find im afraid mate...Best i can do are these. Iirc he had a late wing on the passenger side, and an early one on the drivers side. Neil.

I wish id have left it now tbh...Having a nightmare with the front bumper/crap painters. :censored: Still waiting on the new coilover spring collars :( amongst other bits... Got a feeling it ain't gonna be ready for vag 2009, just not enough time man.And im really p|ssed off with the bumper, the mot ran out too. Just back from the unit having done this, bit of a rush job tbh. 4" neoprene/copper wound pipe. Created a hole in a spare air box, with a bit of platic welding (melting) And drilled a hole/inserted a grommet to sit the fuel tank breather pipe in there too. I drilled the brace for the air filter element, and tie wrapped the original outside/mfa temp sensor onto it. So the mfa will now show the temperature in the air box. Where the cold air feed/neoprene pipe comes through the carbon cannister hole from the air box (carbon can was removed long ago) Where the outside temp sensor used to sit, in the grill in the front bumper. This is where the cold air feed/neoprene pipe will feed cold air from. When i manage to cut it out.

Didn't think so Walesy 8) But always wondered if there is someting strangely cobbled together by vw out there as they were pretty random in the early/late changeover  Vick, the wings are really noticeable when you see em side by side. A lad on Volksdevil has a rado with an early wing on one side, late on the other and its a fair difference  Neil.

Didnt some of the later G60's have ABS aswell?[/quote:bpbcxw5v] Aye...mine has that crap (abs) For people who can't drive tbh The chassis numbers are dated up to and after late style, (i think 'N' chassis onwards are late) with different exhaust systems/fuel tanks and pumps. Im pretty sure different brake calipers and inlet manifolds on the earlier ones too? Some late'ish ones popped up here...cool. Did any get the vr6 interior i wonder? Never seen one? Neil.

^^ Interesting 8)

Im bloody sure i had the part number somewhere but can't find it :( A quick search shows up: 059 121 113B porsche 924 - dunno if it will fit, good possibility. http://www.worldimpex.com/parts/genuine ... 59113.html http://www.worldimpex.com/parts/genuine ... 52481.html http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pag ... ory=Timing http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pag ... uctID=7013 http://www.allworldautomotive.com/auto_ ... 16653.html skoda fav/felicia Ive seen the diesel one mentioned but can't see a part number.
-
Cheers Neil - that corresponds to 82 degrees which should be fine. Do you know whether this is a Vag part, or whether Neuspeed make them? Ive got a feeling its from a tdi something or other mate...Can't remember what exactly im afraid, damn bad memory :pale: Neuspeed rings a bell too though.
-
Aye, i know what ya saying mate 8) The g60 head must be massively restricted, especially looking at the extra flow that cncheads.co.uk can get from them! Unbeleivable tbh! But the whole flow is obviously split between the ports, finish and valve sizes/lift/duration etc too, so there has to be some benefit from fitting a cam that will lift the valves a little more, and for a little longer. I have 15psi trying to get through the head at the minute so id be happy if i could drop that a little 8) Probably best to wait till i sort a head but id like to get it on the rollers again to see the difference! Have got a 3.5bar fpr/new red tops coming, and the 4 branch and new system will be going on along with a remap...Would just be nice to throw a new cam in there too for the hell of it
-
Cool! Is yours a grumpy old bast too? Is that a none uk spec mate? 8)
-
Any good mate? Neil.
-
Interested to know how many late G60's were produced? Would be cool to try and get a good list of registered dates etc? Maybe for the full two? years that it was produced for the road? Mine is a late style with full late exterior, late chassis and floorpan, late (large) fuel tank, late fuel pump/filter set up with early interior. First registered: 10/4/92 Neil.
-
Cheers for the info mate, spot on 8) I wouldn't mind sommet a bit lumpy/wild overall, but im really interested in the distribution of the split duration cams mentioned too...The dbillas and the l+s cartec both have more umph on the inlet side which i like the idea of. You don't know what the overlaps of any of the above work out at by any chance mate? Im considering a cam that i could use for a good while, while also porting another head meself and fitting tougher valve springs etc. Neil.
-
Ok, apparently the standard cam is 256/252? The l+s cartec above is: valve lift 11,8 / 11,6mm duration = 114° Any thoughts guys? Edit: Another one in the mix. Newman volgs/264 264/278 Lift - 11.75/11.00 duration = 112°

Oh man...

That ddi probably sosnt look TOO bad on a dark rado, but aye...wrong positioning...Im not a fan of having the plate recess smoothed off tbh. Intercooler sits right behind the hole/dodgy number plate i made. Im just p|ssed off with it now, after having done a decent job of painting it myself etc then having an idiot paint it, and now having to flat it right back again :censored:
-
This is what id done before the incorrect metallic paint went on and then took it to be painted... Filled the inner part with fibreglass to make better flow to the intercooler that sits behind. I filled/flatted it, then plastic primed the whole bumper with spray tins from halfords. Now when i was painting it (again with tins from halfords) all was well until the last tin i used was incorrectly labelled, it was metallic black! So i decided to get the bumper painted elsewhere...I told the guy what i had done so it would need flatting right back. And this is the important part, see same pic again below...Where i had cut the hole, the plastic was furry on the edges, i used various grades and couldn't get it perfect. The painter told me he would sort it and make it mint for me to fit some mesh behind there. It looked 'ok' at a distance...The plate is made from plastic mesh which i painted my number plate onto.
-
Fooking hell! :gag: ! Thats the worst looking bumper ive ever seen in my life  Phil...I had started on making a fibreglass mold to sit in the recess to cover the crap edges but im no body guy, i just tend to have a go at things whether i can do em or not. Id like to have someone do it, but im getting expensive quotes on a bumper which ive only just had painted and already put a lot of time/effort into. :(
-
I tend to agree Phil :) Just wondering if maybe there's something that dosn't look too bad, im a bit undecided on the Reiger...but im leaning towards a no. I did modify the original, and got it as tidy as i could before painting it myself, but an incorrectly labelled spray tin from halfords meant i ended up taking it to a painter. I told him to tidy the edges etc for mesh to sit behind but i wasn't happy with the finish. Especially when the paint FELL OFF! after having some low tack masking tape on there...
-
Anyone running an aftermarket front bumper? What you got? Pics? Im having a b/\stard of a time modifying mine, and ive got p\ssed off with useless painters/body guys. :bad-words: so may have to give in and go aftermarket. :( Hopefully there is something subtle out there but with room for fmic flow. Neil.
