Saw you late Weds afternoon driving around Burnley, I was in a queue of traffic on accrington road when you went past making good progress :) You'd have remembered mine if you saw it ... the paintwork on the bonnet is minging :( Ahh cool,i tend to drive around in a daze...or constantly looking around for things falling off the car... Bigrim, your not known as William on ebay are ya? Neil.

Cheers guys...all seems good at the front of the fuse box.Number 30/32 had me thinking but according to what manny sent me (cheers m8 ) either 30 or 32 can be there. Just need to look for the 3 relays above the fuse box (16/17/18 ) ,can't remember seeing these :? Should see them in attatched pic. Has anyone got any pics of behind the fuse box? please? I know there are a few disconnected wires, but id like to check if they are right to be disconnected or not... Neil.

Does this look all good in a 92 G60? And can anyone tell me exactly whats what? Cheers,Neil.

Stood waving a hammer at it again...

Its a straight forward job,if everything goes smoothly...quite rarely does though on older motors. Problems can crop up when you come to removing the exhaust manifold nuts...often they are seized/snapping studs/rounded off nuts due to corrosion etc... It can all be sorted, but patience and cleanliness are important. Its worth replacing all of the studs in the head while you are at it. Neil.

If you stick with a 195/45 tyre, and anywhere as low as et27. Then you can go pretty low...Ive forgotten how much mines dropped by...around 2" 3/4 i think. Have had it a lot lower, literally scraping the front on the road and the tyres never touched anywhere. edit:vr will be slightly diffarent though...with having wider track. And come to think of it,earlier cars have skinnier arches? Confusing shiz  Neil.

Just remember that swirl removal will never ever be infinate, especially on a car thats used on the road. It is worth 'correcting' or bringing the paint up to a good standard, and then from a good base you can keep on top best you can, basically take as many preventative measures as you see fit,to prevent damage to the paint. Total infinate swirl removal/perfection will send you mad...

Here ya go m8,ive put the forum back up. Neil.

Ive got 3bar with stage 5 chip...according to my receipt for the chip anyway.
-
What issues would running the 3 bar one cause along with stage 5? I was told at the time that the 3.5 was only needed if using red top injectors?

Stupid feckin illness getting in the way of everything...and basically ruining my life m8 :(

As the guys say really... And must change my sig...

The clay is a sort of paint cleaner...in that it removes any slight tar spots/bits of overspray etc...in prep for cutting/cleaning/polishing.Its a mechanical preperation stage. But the step 1 paint cleaner is very diffarent,as its a chemical liquid cleaner that will give an evenly prepped/clean finish in preperation for polish, and should be used after clay, and also after something like scratch-x. Polish wise,id go for the autoglym ultra deep shine, followed by a carnauba paste wax. Use each stage...paint cleaner/(scratch-x if using)/polish a good few times before finally applying a wax.Dont be tempted to clean/polish/wax all straight away...use each product until best results are achieved... Neil.
-
Id only use it the once meself...its not just how dirty the car/clay is,although obviously it ups the chance of damage. :( its also that slight chance that the 1 little bit of grit/dirt that you thought was deeply moulded into the clay, may just end up on/near the surface and cause some damage. Its always a slight risk i suppose, but always using new will minimise that risk to an extent. pm i sent to Fay... Neil.

Pic request - G60 outlet piping running down under charger
Riley replied to Riley's topic in Engine Bay
Nice one Flusted 8) So thats a 76mm > 63mm? What have you used from there m8? Neil. -
Anyone got any pics of this? Interested to see how people have run the pipework from outlet then going under the charger... I have an rsr (straight with reducer) and it might be a tight squeeze to put a 45deg bend (silicone) on the end to go under the charger. So how have people done it? rallye outlets? or silicone bends off an rsr? Pics pics pics! :D Cheers,Neil.

Superb, cheers guys 8) I just wondered if the slam panel became a bit flimsy, but i suppose it can always be braced if need be... Might attack it later today 8)

Aye,know what you're saying m8... What about wayne at chipwizards? does he look at this sort of thing? And what would the likely average costs be for diagnosing? I could repair it myself if only i knew what the hell was wrong with it :(
-
How many people have cut the strut that runs from the front panel, down to the subframe where it bolts up? Any adverse side effects? Guessing its best to leave part of it there and maybe strengthen it? Any pics would be cool :) Neil.

How the hell am i ever going to sort this backfiring type problem ? Got a feeling i never will, and when the time comes to sell it...problem will still be there! Need to sort it somehow :? Im just guessing there must be a problem in the loom somewhere...maybe along the lines of the lambda probe...as after i had problems in the past nearly everything was replaced! Neil.
-
Tried another ecu and chip... Still doing it...Anybody any other idea's? this problems been bugging me for long enough now  Neil.
-
Aye,the megs stuff aint cheap...but i was really suprised by how good it is! Dosn't clog up much at all,and it gives a pretty damn uniform finish 8) Its just really nice sand paper if there's such a thing  ps:Mrb,i got it back looking like the others now using 2500 grit :D
-
Well ill kinda meet you half way  Used the 800 grit earlier, and just got p|ssed off with it...really dont have the enthusiasm like i used to :( How it looked, and then i just brought em back up with 2500 to same finish as the others rather than going 1200 grit/1500/2000 etc... Neil.
