Thanks Jim,appreciated. 8) £25 QUID FOR THERMOSTAT! £68 QUID FOR SPARK PLUGS!  ! Water pump seems expensive too? is there a surcharge? Think i better cancel those spark plugs...fecking hell!

Bump :) Neil.

Aye,and yours goes alright up against mine Manny! This is what i can't understand though...when i bolted the crank pully on,it was a super snug fit,it cant go on wrong...so how could it be out? And guys...just trying to get my head around this bit. If i now use the flywheel to set the ignition timing...it wont be aligned with my crank/cam surely? :? So am i running a tooth out? Do i need to align the flywheel mark with the camshaft mark? It revs slowly compared to manny's (chappy above) and it seems heavyish on fuel,it also intermittently farts when hitting the throttle. Neil.

Right...here we go.As you can see,cam alignment mark. You can move the cam just slightly and still have it lined up if you see what i mean. But when you do move it just a little,it throws the crank/flywheel well out...By around a tooth :?
-
Trying to think of a way to explain this better... Imagine the cam pully mark lining up with the slit on the back plate...You can tweak the cam round either way just a little bit,but yet it can still sort of be lined up. Its a crap alignment idea... Anyway. If doing the above, just tweaking the cam a little bit,it moves the crank pully mark/flywheel mark more because of the difference in pully sizes. I tweak the cam one way,and its lined up with the crank...no flywheel marks in sight. Tweak it the other way,its lined up with the flywheel but the crank mark is waaaay before tdc.

Aye,ive always used a gun at 6deg :) All the marks line up mint at the crank side. But the problem is that,if i then go to look at the flywheel where everyones always told me to set the ign timing...the marks are not in sight. :? If i turn the crank to line up the flywheel... Then check the crank pully...the mark is way out...But the cam is still somewhere near...as it turns slower than the crank. If ya know what i mean. :?

Could someone price me the following up please...92 G60. 037 121 010 BX 055 121 121f 056 121 113d 191 129 620 n 903 086 03 X3 101 000 006 AF X4 N 012 2293 X3 Just been quoted £115 quid :? Cheers,Neil.

Cheers m8... Thing is...ive done the ignition timing using the crank mark, but everyone on here says to use the flywheel? But then...am i running a tooth out also? :?
-
Right, this is getting on my t|ts now  G60...New crankshaft bolt, and the gudgeon type pin was mint,no wear at all. It can only go on in one place so it has to be aligned perfectly for the timing mark. Flywheel... The timing mark does not match/align with the mark on the crank pully. How? Surely the only way is a twisted crank? :? or the marks are just put on the pully/flywheel willy nilly :? Ps:Im looking at the right mark arent i? The -o Neil.

Thanks m8, Cool, may just! still be under warranty then! Its throwing water out from the valve just above a core plug type bit on the bottom of the pump... :( Its like a little channel just under where the shaft sticks out. Remember the t shaped bolt head now, fiddly little sh|t to get too... Neil.

Aye... The light will flash if the coolant level is too low (via the sender you can see plugged in on expansion tank) You could unplug it and bridge the plug/connector with some wire to see if it stops the flashing,if it does this will tell you that the expansion tank needs replacing. assuming coolant level is good. If that solves nothing...another reason it can flash is if the temp gauge is disconnected.ie:probably the reason why the needle isn't rising. This uses a sender on the side of the head i think (been a while since i played with a valver) I think there are three, all single spade terminals. You can swap them around to see if it remedies the problem as the senders are all the same part number. Hope that helps. Neil.

Wonder if its been used as a temp fix for something? rather than using propper automotive wire... Neil.

Or mk1 0 corrado 1 As far as propper fitment/protection. The spoilers are to stop the bra flapping at motorway speed, when they flap...they are constantly battering the paint.Obviously not what you want. Neil.

Think I've found the problem...G60 v low mpg - advice needed

Id have it set up again now the lambda is plugged in and sorted. The g60 ecu dosn't need resetting. Neil. -
That looks like speaker cable to me m8 :?

Congrats Nikki 8)

As well as the above... Why are there 2 different water pump part numbers listed on etka? 037121010C And 037121010BX Exchange?

Sounds like a warning...ive had the same before. Always expect the unexpected though... Neil. -
Ive always thought best to go for a diffarent charger on the 16v...one that can cope with higher rpm,as thats what the 16v is about...being wound up. 8)

Remember that these were initially manufactured as a car care item, mainly for people who cover a few motorway miles etc... They shouldn't really be fitted for any longer than 7 days at a time if you see them as a styling accessory...Which most vw/audi nutters seem to! Mines just used as intended...motorway driving etc
-
Awesome. My favourite car of all time is the genuine manta 4OO 8) 8) 8) Im on the lookout for a replica to replace the corrado...but these days they are non existent :( Best looking car ever built imo...the 400. You have to watch this...its awesome. Clicky here for classic Vatenen, clipping a wall at high speed and oversteering through a gate. I would kill people to own a genuine one...
-
ps:Ive only covered around 12k miles in the car since owning it...And ive owned it for around 2 years!!!

The water pump has gone on the car again...its a vw one that i fitted 2 years ago... Will they replace it ya think? Or am i better off getting one from gsf :?

Wanted some new pics to put on the for sale adverts...started getting some until i noticed the water pump had gone AGAIN  Off the road again...
