  1. Cheers guys :D New parts: Rear discs (machined -6mm)[/*:m:5cbd3] Rear brake pads[/*:m:5cbd3] V.A.G inner and outer rear wheel bearings[/*:m:5cbd3] New abs sensor pickup rings[/*:m:5cbd3] New rear brake pressure regulator[/*:m:5cbd3] New rear brake pressure fittings,bolts/roller/spacer/nut etc[/*:m:5cbd3] Good m8 of mine had machined 6mm off the face of the discs...This should hopefully combat the tyre/arch contact problem. 8) Everything went ok,but i got short on time so ive just done the passenger side for now untill tommorow. :) Drivers side pics (not done) Passenger side pics (done with minus 6mm) And a rear shot, hard to see the difference as i couldn't get far enough back for the pic :( Happy with it so far,the side thats been done still looks well (not sat in too far) but i haven't had chance to really test for arch/tyre contact as yet, think it will be ok :D Brakes feel a lot! better too,the rear discs/pads were really bad! Neil. :)
  2. Aye,the fuel pipes are a common one...they split on the inside so even if they look fine, its well worth replacing them  Ive replaced the ecu pipe a good while ago now,new 1m length from vw...Don't think ill ever solve the problem with mine :(
  3. Not a fan of borbet a tbh...every man and his dog has em eh? :( Looks superb m8 :D
  4. Thanks guys :D Ive posted waaaaay too many pics on the last page :( Made a new siggy from em though 8)
  5. Disconnect the earth lead from the battery. run a wire from battery earth to one pin on an indicater bulb. run a wire from the earth lead on the car to the other pin on the bulb. You may find that it lights up better than your headlights  if there is a drain. If it does, then pull individual fuses until its no longer/very dimly lit. Neil.
  6. Weird, sounds just like mine has been for the past 21/22 months :? Really have tried everything though...
  7. Welcome :D Sounds like the leccy part of the door handle has died? What happens if you lock/unlock with the passenger door? Neil. :)
  8. With all due respect guys...it could have been said a lot earlier in the thread...and i don't know of anybody around my way that could check it. Ive asked for reccomendations on who could look at it but im always told g-werks who are a million miles away.Plus money is an issue,so it would have to be someone who can possibly do me a favour,or help out as cheaply as possible. Neil.
  9. Id say its safe enough aye :) Plenty thread still left if you take 6mm off the faces. I never ran the car with that disc on,just checked how it sat and then removed it as im gonna go for 6mm rather than the 4.5mm in the pics.Plus im going for new discs/wheel bearings/pads etc... Neil.
  10. No worries m8,he is called Mat (barker44) and i think he may be on here... No spacers as far as i know, but then he's is a valver. Neil.
  11. 215/40's all round m8 :) I didn't want any skinnier as firstly i don't understand wide rims with skinny tyres :? and secondly...i want to feel as safe as possible with my little girl in the car. piccys here :) And with 4.5mm machined off the rear disc...going to get new rear discs and take 6mm off the faces. Hope this helps...Neil.
  12. Aye,can appreciate that m8  Once warm...it intermittently pops when hitting the throttle, and its slow to rev. Tape the wot switch closed and all is well. Neil.
  13. Sorry...off topic... But i hope so :D Just emailed you Steve? via the golf+ about This problem ive had for 21 months! Back on topic! sorry. Neil.
  14. Few pics from Volksdevil north west...held every last sunday of the month at blackburn jct 4 m65 services from 1pm onwards.
  15. i ran 8x16 porka rims with et27.5,with 195/45's it was no problem at all lowered decently as well. So you may just get away with it depending on ride height/tyre choice. Currently running 9x16 et15's with a little arch rolling and a little rubbing on the worst bumps...
  16. Just emailed The brain (Mr cresswell) via the golf+ magazine...
  17. Thread ressurection. Nope :( Can't believe im still having this fecking problem after all this time...21 months? :( Although a little progress has been made... If i tape up the WOT switch, the problem (slow revving and popping) totally dissapears... What this means i don't know.
  18. Mer Bumper And Trim Cleaning Gel :) It is something a lot of people tend to leave, but like the paintwork...cleaning before dressing will give better, longer lasting results. Neil.
  19. Mine...maybe not exactly what you are looking for :(
  20. Nice one. Thanks again for the help 8) Rear discs are currently really badly glazed/pitted :( so ive bought a new pressure regulator, and will adjust it once fitted along with the new discs (Machining down by 6mm)/pads/bearings etc. Neil.
  21. Thanks chaps 8) Will go for the new bearings/abs rings for sure. The sh|t shields  are pretty mint so i may just scratch em up with emory and paint em,probably dont need it tbh... What would be the need for new stub axle bolts m8? Will i be able to get the new bearings in with socket/wood/hammer? And just seen this on etka: Rotor speed sensor : 1jo 614 149 Sounds like the abs ring?
  22. Oh... Anyone have the part number for the abs rings? Cant seem to see them on etka? And as above, push fit? Cheers,Neil.
  23. Sorted, new ones it is...Do they just push on? Cheers guys :D Neil.
  24. Ahhhh, are the abs rings just push fit MrB? A case of levering em off? Cheers m8. Neil. :)
