When i bought the design 90's they weren't actually mirror polished,i did bring em up a little bit with polishes, but never been fussed about em being like a mirror. Well im having a go,and while im at it taking out any little nicks/stone chip type marks to make em mint. 8) Time is an issue but ive started one. This is a before shot, none of the pics have shown the true state of the wheels really, but the rim outline you can see oxidisation/water marks and the circled area's show the slightly hazy finish. After 600 grit:Nicely scratched   But after being washed off,a nice flat surface and can see some slight dinks left that ill work next time: Will update when i get the 800 grit on the job. :) Neil.

Here ya go,car noise/wind noise  -
How do Kevin, Not had chance to test to be honest :( and today was a family/corrado video making day  Ive been running it with the afr gauge unplugged the whole time, and its still doing it,so ill definately throw the other chip in or swap the ecu...will see what happens. For some reason though, ive got a feeling its the loom for the lambda probe...i remember when i repaired the plug on the end that the wiring looked very dry and tired. Neil. :)

Never really fell in love with em meself tbh :!: They have grown on me...but i need 9x16's :D Treated it to a bonnet bra today (motorway/long journeys only) as the bonnet is mint, bumper needs repainting though really :( will get it done soon...

Gonna be for longi'sh journeys only...

Aye...maybe :D I was checking out a passat estate at the time too,was wearing a white rear plate 8)

Cheers Kevin 8) If i get a minute tommorow,i think im gonna try the old superchip in there...and throw the timing light on it...just to see if the timing mark is still jumping around. God knows what to look at next if it still does it :? possibly try one of the spare ecu's then...and thinking about maybe sending the ecu/sns chip down to darren to check out if possible... And its doing this without that friggin afr gauge   Neil.

More new plates  Im getting bored of waiting for the new rims! Threw these on...got through town and had a meat van stuck on my bumper for a couple of miles! Never battered an eye lid :? [:D]

Hi Steve...aye...the manufacturer dosn't supply instructions (in fact they have just put some together) but we wrote our own guidelines rather than fitting instructions.I will update the details we send out with them as soon as i can. 8) Fitting should be as follows. The small tie straps at either side should be hooked into the bonnet underside, and pulled tight. And the buckled strap just tightens across the width, you can run it through the center elastic hoop too (if you have one). Once its fitting snuggly,be sure to hang any flailing straps out of the way,and after the bra has been on for a few days...retighten and then cut off the extra length. Hope this helps, piccy below of another way to do it (if the bra has elastic at either side) You can run the tie straps (1 at each side) through the elastic to the center one...and then hook onto the bonnet.Every model of bra is diffarent,so there will always be a slight difference. Neil. :)

Aye...petition anyone? Darren, problem is...ive had people look at it before (independant garage owner, and a m8 who worked at vw...has his own garage) and they just scratch their heads...Cant understand why the timing is erratic :( Neil.

Im sick of thinking that there's something not quite right with the G60... :( And i want to just get it looked at and sorted for good/peace of mind. At the moment,it tends to backfire/splutter when hitting the throttle. And the timing mark on the crank pully/flywheel jumps forwards and backwards when trying to set it up... Sommet just aint right, and i wanna know what it is  I want someone who can basically do a few checks such as make sure the ecu is fine...and stick a timing light on it to tell me what they think...If anything is wrong, then obviously i will want it sorting. G-werks is a hell of a long way from me...is there anyone who could have a look at it for me for up north? And if not,Darren? Could you manage a look? Cheers,Neil. :)

Ive got 3 ecu's here...dont ask  Firstly a quick look on etka says that ecu part number:037 906 022 DP was dropped and replaced by:037 906 022 EG Anyone know why? or what the difference is? :? Secondly...map sensors...any difference between these part? numbers? 200kps - 1081BB 200kps - 3540BB 200kps - 2710AC Cheers,Neil. :)

If fitted sweet as a nut though when i replaced the crank bolt :? And surely that wouldn't cause the mark to jump forward/backward? not more of an electrical problem? Neil.
-
Cheers m8 :) Thing is...I know ideally both the crank pully mark and flywheel marl should match/be in the correct place. But who knows which is right? :? If the mark on the crank pully can be out a little, whats stopping it being out on the flywheel? Bloody stupid vw   Gonna pop up to the unit shortly, and swap the ecu for a spare i have (oe chip),just to see if it stops the mark jumping all over the shop...and then go from there maybe? Cheers,Neil.
-
Aye,as above. Possibly tired oil pump/pump pick up full of crap also... Neil.

Cheers guys 8) Kevin, how goes it? :thumbleft: Its funny...yesyerday i said to a m8,that ever since fitting the full blend charger/chip/pully...its done this, and yep we did get the chips at the same time. 8) But i just didnt know whether or not it may be something else that controls the ignition also (bts maybe?) Last time i had problems with it,the ign timing was the same...at the flywheel also.Never been a fan of using the flywheel for some reason...if the crank pully is in perfect nick, with the pin sitting nice and tight in the crank then surely you cant go wrong using it? easier to see with the timing light too? Unless there's some sort of rubber as steve says? cant just remember... What you reckon i should try guys? the original chip? And if it is the chip,is there a better one out there/Would Bilal replace it? M8 has original chip (as far as we know) and his timing mark on the crank is absolutely perfect, bang on 6d and dosnt move around at all. Rob_B,cheers m8...seems there's no definitive setting up procedure across the forums, but in the 'book' it does say 2-2.5k.What you say about aftermarket chip may be right though? Neil.
-
Ok guys... Checked the ign timing on the corrado today. When everything is ready to go,ie:bts off,rpm at 2.5k,and timing light hooked up...im getting a strange thing happening. The mark on the crank pulley is all over the place :? it jumps from being spot on 6deg (or as near as i can get it) to a little to the right/well over to the right/back again/to the left etc etc...its just all over :? The car runs really well, very stable tickover...but its never been what id call quick, and now and again it sort of backfires when you hit the throttle. ps:this is with the silly afr gauge unplugged  Can anyone give a reason as to why the timing mark is all over the place? Cheers,Neil. :)
