Hi there, I have an early demister switch - will pm you the details.
-
Cool, thnks mate :)
-
Oooh, nice. Portent, do you have a scanner - it would be great to have a high res copy of that if possible?
-
I'm sure I'll be attacked by the purists, but I quite like that effect. I have fitted a Passat W8 interior light to mine to replace the original interior light. That contains 2 red led downlights which give a slight red glow at night, which I really like. I could imagine something like electroluminescent (EL) strip or led strips under the dash to get that type of effect. EL strips probably better as it'll be more even light and a lot dimmer. I could imagine with loads and loads of leds, you'll be lit up like blackpool illuminations.

I have a 268/276 asymetric schrick in mine Owen, and I used to have a Piper 285 (actually 276 not 285 for some reason their naming is funny). To be honest not much between them, and if anything the Piper had a little more at the top end. Too much overlap on a G60 is a problem - you blow all the air out before it has chance to do anything. 298 on a G60 would be a nightmare. Gains are subjective - do you want something at the top end or more grunt in the midrange? Choice of cam will help either, but also how it's setup and the amount of advance and retard will shift the power band. Cams are best coupled with head work - otherwise it'll just need mapping again if that changes. Yes it'll need mapping for a cam change.

Cool, cheers Portent - money sorted :)

I have a Porsche 3.5bar fpr which is a direct fit to the normal fuel rail if you're interested. I can do it for £58 posted recorded delivery.

Right.... except I'm not currently a member of the CCGB so can't sign up to anything on there. So are you saying we have to sign up for a membership this year and next to be able to go? -
Yes, absolutely mate.

Excellent, thanks Kip, will do that then. Do we need to sign up anywhere for the day so you get an idea of numbers? -

Can we sign up for the CCGB and pay our £10 for the year on the day for this or do we have to pay for it beforehand? -
3rd brake light - Vauxhall Vectra (bear with me...!)
JMC replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in Interior
Problem IMO with the US one is that it's not very high, especially if your car is lowered. -

Oooh, doubt it, it was 6 years ago mate. Looks something like one of these.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HIGH-LEVEL-AUXILIARY-3rd-CENTRAL-REAR-BRAKE-LAMP-LED-STOP-LIGHT-36-x-LEDs-12V-/180740192819?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a14f47a33 I had to cut the ends off and then cut a slot in the trim, graft it in, filler it and paint it. Took just a couple of hours in total. -

Did one years ago using a cheapy ebay kit (some pics below). Did require a bit of modding thought to make it look stock. -
Have a hunt with the search on here - there is plenty on setting the idles speed. It should drop as the car warms up as well - mine when cold is quite high then drops to around when warm 750.
-
ISV's are specific to G60's as far as I know so make sure you have the right one. 900-1000 is a bit high - my idle is around 750, but it does mean that low idle speed is not causing it to stall atleast. Even if the ISV works check the wiring - mine had gone brittle and cracked from the heat but it was all hidden from view. Good luck with it. Two other things to change for piece of mind are the ECU and fuel pump relays. ECU relays are a known weak point and can cause unexpected cutouts as well.
-
Lots of possible causes unfortunately. Could be to do with any immobiliser it has (my Clifford can do this at times depending on when I turn the engine on and off), also potentially to do with the ISV itself or the wiring going to it. The wiring for the ISV goes between the fuel rail and head, and gets very very hot causing it to go brittle and break. What does it rev at at idle when cold? Perhaps the idle speed is too low... Having tried the boost return mod, I would recommend you put it back to normal atleast to see if it cures the problem.

I'd be willing to put a tenner into this - as you say good advertising for the Corrado and definately a good thing to preserve some of our motoring heritage.

I'd like to come on this as it's just down the road from me, but I have no idea of the current status of my CCGB membership (was a member for years and then it all seemed to go to pot about 3 years ago, and I can't remember the last time I did a paypal payment for it). -
I wouldn't bother with their websites teveO - try calling them.
-
In the past I would have pointed you towards Gwerks, but have you tried JMR (John Mitchell Racing) or Jabbasport?
-
Yep, can do you one of those for £8 posted recorded delivery if interested. EDIT 28/11/11 - apologies, but having checked my switch bag I have every switch but the sunroof one :-(
-
Yep good fun - the Peloquin and Racelogic traction control keep it under control though (when I don't, lol).
