  1. Bah, only 9 years for me. I'm such a noob....
  2. Can't see the picture for some reason (probably my work PC not letting me). The original plastic pipe should have an oring on the end of it which fits into the charger - I've not seen one yet which didn't. Personally, I would not be happy with having any form of sealant near the charger inlet, so would want to get it changed ASAP.
  3. Yes, Owen you'll need a remap for this. My understanding is that the voltage range they output to is the same as for the standard map sensor, however the absolute voltage for each pressure is obviously different as the range of pressures the sensor can read is different. I.e. say the original pressure sensor reads 1V at 0.5 bar, then the 1.5bar sensor may we read 1v at 0.8 bar. May well impact the ISV operation as well (if you still have that) and the pressure where it bleeds off at as that is pressure related. What pressures are you running and have you done any head work? I'm running my 1.9l with a fast road head and a 65mm pulley and I get no more than 12psi even at full throttle with a fresh charger as the whole lot breathes efficiently.
  4. Great build. Any news on what this is putting out yet, or have I missed it in the thread?
  5. Also bear in mind that if you use thicker oil and fit an oil cooler, the oil wont warm up as much so it'll remain more viscous (massively oversimplifying it there but the essence is right). With the G60 you're supposed to let it warm up before booting it, presumably one of the reasons being if the oil is too viscous it can blow out the oil seals.
  6. Mines a late J reg, and came with raised bonnet, late bumpers, late wings etc, but early interior. You should be able to swap early to late in the interior. Door cards, not a problem (done that on mine). Some wiring differences (late mirror and window switches are different for example). If you've doing a full swap inclusing interior wiring looms then there is no reason that shouldn't be doable, but yeah, look for one with a FL body.
  7. Same with mine Jim - facelift exterior, but early interior. I wasn't aware of any G60's having the late interior.
  8. Stratfords not to close to me (east london and I'm west london), but coming from Cornwall, you'll either be on the M3 or M4 - both of those pass the M25 not too far from where I am.
  9. Let me know when you're coming over this way Pasty. I'm in Egham (near J13 of the M25), and if you're this way when I'm around you're more then welcome to stop over, take a look round mine, and give you some ideas...
  10. Lol, great minds think alike Owen. Get rid of that cone filter, and put a normal air box and normal paper filter back on - your charger will live longer. Other than that have fun. If you haven't got any history on when the charger was last overhauled get it looked at ASAP.
  11. No the MFA still works from memory. I'm like you, I only use the trip computer to work out whether I'm getting similar MPG between refuelling. Suppose I could use MFA on setting 2 for that, and just reset it everything I fill up.
  12. Hmm, thanks Kev - thought it would be an 'instrument out' solution... I think I'll be 'living with it' for now.
  13. Right, for the 1st time in ages I have a problem with the G60. Now as they go this is a small problem, but annoying never the less. The trip counter sits a 0.0 and doesn't chnage. The total mileage goes up as normal, and nothing else seems to have stopped working, but this just sits at zero. Anyone any ideas about how to fix this - is it likely to be the switch in the instrument cluster that is permanently 'on' and therefore making it stay on zero, or could it be something else?
  14. I think LWS must have gotten hold of Performance Trims old moulds etc. On his website, under the Corrado bonnet is pics of my car and bonnet that Mike took after we fitted it, lol.
  15. No worries - not sure on how to tell max drop from the springs - typically it'll be in the 80-120mm range. Any more than that would be very unusal AFAIK. Model numbers of the shocks would be a good start point, then we can figure out what they are.
  16. No, in the picture the 50 refers to the spring rate (how springy it is), the 180mm to the length of the spring. They do them in 30-180 as well, so a spring rate of 30, with a 180mm length. If its got 40-200 on it then likely it's a 200mm long spring with a spring rate of 40.
  17. Do they rear ones look like the red ones in this.... http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5579590-FS-gt-H-amp-R-coilover-springs If so the 30-180 doesn't refer to the amount of drop they can handle.
  18. Only 2004 for me, although it feels like longer  - I think Corrado ownership does that to you...
  19. Not any more, but when I was at Uni I did Wing Chun kung fu, martial Tai Chi, Ryokyo kobujutsu, and Philipino knife and stick work, and dabbled in a few others including Iaido. Never been afraid to use a pool cue when needed . A couple of years ago I got back into a bit and did Pakua Chang for a while, but never had enough time to do the practising betweeen lessons to keep it up. Shame really, as that one was really fun. Never been one for doing judo or karate, always tried to find the more esoteric stuff.

    2.1 Lupos

Well, the old, left hand drive one has now been taken away for it's last drive. Definitely agree that a surprising amount can be fitted in these cars - we've had some pretty big things in there. New one so far is a good 'un, so fingers crossed.

    2.1 Lupos

No, not the engine size, but the number of them. My girlfriend has had a 1L lupo for 8 years - a bright Fantasia green one. Why, because of a little green playmobile model of a little boxy green car she had since being a kid (hence the .1 in the Lupo count). Left hand drive, brought over with her from Austria, and converted to UK (lights, clocks etc). It was in a crash before she bought it, and none of the panels lined up, it has had half a dozen windscreens as none of them fit properly, it needed a replacement gearbox recently, but it was much loved. Unfortunately it has finally give up the ghost - terminal electrical failure. So what did she want - another Lupo. This time we have bought a 1.4 16v one, but the same Fantasia green. 1 year younger, but with 50k less on the clock. So at the moment we have 2.1 Lupos (until tomorrow when the 1st one is being taken away to be 'disposed of' after all the useful bits have been removed for safe keeping). Hopefully this one lasts as long as the 1st one did :)
  22. When mine started making blue smoke especially when booting it, it was the valve stem seals.
