Like wise - make your own. Gauge wise I like the Autometer sport comp range. Not quote a match, bu very good vacuum and boost gauges. Here's a link to my homemede vent gauge (not the Autometer I hasten to add) http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?20906-JMC-s-G60-Dash-tweaks-22-8/page38&highlight=surrey+rolling+road There a picture of the Autometer one on page 3 of my build thread.

Agreed Jim - I can say from experience what even swapping to a cf bonnet makes compared to standard (especially with 250bhp, lol). The roof was always something I wanted to do, but never got round to it. I'm just intrigued to know how close to 300 he did get - can the glader reliably push enough air to make that sort of power (other than having to rebuild it every 20mins)?
-
Lovely car - wonder what power it actually makes (says in the ad 'capable of 300bhp', not produces 300bhp)?

He's getting a lot of questions about whats been done to it to justify it being readvertised for £3.5k more than it was previously - must be the tinting film, lol.

Corrado g60 issues after fittings 68mm pulley and Jabba chip
JMC replied to KBN-STANCED's topic in Engine Bay
When I first got my G60 it had a Jabba chip and overfuelled badly (which was an issue with them then - this was 7 years ago). Replaced with an SNS chip, everything was fine. -

Interesting build Drake. Looks like you have a similar engine setup to mine - what sort of power are you expecting to see? I like the carbon, as long as it is carbon and not carbon wrap. -
Thanks guys, I sort of thought that would be the case, but wanted to check. Gutted for you Owen :( that sucks. Fingers crossed...

I know the MOT regs with regards to CAT's have changed recently, however what's people experiences with the older Corrados (pre 93) in real life since these new regs have come in? From memory, if the car was registered before August 92 (which mine is) then it doesn't need to have an emissions test during the MOT. Does the CAT point still apply - mine has not had a VW exhaust from when I owned it so I have no idea whether it had a CAT or not.

djmac56's Golf n Corrado - bye Corrado, Hello Aston! Pics P7!
JMC replied to djmac56's topic in Members Gallery
Blimey mate, good on you for gettng the Aston. Hope you have a good ongoing budget for fuel, lol... -
vw_john, do you still have the black plastic box on the right hand side of the charger? If so this is high up on the candiate list for being the problem - they are prone to leaking through the seal round the middle, and it makes a really high pitched squeal.

National Day 2012: Sunday 20 May: Brooklands
JMC replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Amazing turnout and great to see so many in one place. The weather held for us, and we got up on the banking, yay. First of what I should think will be many shots from everyone. -
Hi Sam, Sorry mate I can't do it for that posted given the weight/bulk. I can go to £90 posted but can't go any lower than that I'm afraid.

Bump, open to offers, and can bring to National Day.

G60's are not particularly light on fuel, especially on short journeys. I drive mine like a granny most of the time and get 15-20mpg round town and 30-33mpg on the motorway. Granted mine is somewhat tuned, but even so I think the standard ones are not much better.
-
Oooh, thats bad. What's even worse though is that there is a website with that name...

Speaking from experience G60 ownership can be hard work. Obivously the main thing to check for is charger history - who was it serviced by and when? Does the car look well looked after - if so thats generally a good sign? G60's suffer more than most from being ragged before they get up to temperature - too much of that and again there could end up being charger problems? Has it been chipped - if so what make, not all chips are the same?
-
It removes a load of vacuum/boost conections which are prone to leaks, especailly when 20+ years old in some cases. It also opens up a nice big hole to the underside of the car to get cod air in towards the intake where it is needed most.

Yep, common thing to remove on a G60. There are a few threads on here covering off how to do it (what to remove and what to block off).
