Corrado meet - Brooklands 1997 - where are they now?
JMC replied to Bullfinch's topic in General Car Chat
I think thats a really great idea. I was there a couple of years back and there was an RX7 reunion which they took pictures for up on the banking. Hopefully health and safety has not gone mad... -
Blimey, that sounds like a really good system. Almost makes me want to buy a VR....
-
Yeah I saw that - such a shame it's not available as a kit, really fancy building something like that.
-
Here you go guys - a lego V6 engine kit. Older than most of the people on there though (but not me) http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=858-1

AFAIK the points are doubled in the 1st 2 years after passing your test.
-
Finally got the heating working on the mirrors using some self adhesive 12v heating foils. Now have toasty mirrors at the flick of a switch
-
Kev, The wheels have about 4mm clearance betwen the rear of the spokes and face of the calliper.
-
For some reason it reminds me of Mort Goldmans teeth....
-
Looks good mate - I see you've done the bumper mods you wanted then
-
Yeah there was one who smoothed over the bumper then drilled loads of holes about 15mm diameter all over where the number plate was. Can't remember who that was though (doh). Few other have done similar mods - I did an FK grill in the space, Riley did the mesh, and I're sure one of the VR6 turbo guys did something as well. When I was looking to do mine I did a few searches on here for inspiration.
-
PM'd with a few details mate as there are a few options.
-
Mine did that as well a couple of years back.... Ended up welding a couple of thick washers in as anchor points. Not going anywhere now :)
-
You should be looking at around 250bhp for that setup (with about 220-230lbft). Key will be the map though, without that you'll be nowhere. You'll also be getting towards the limits of the redtop injectors, so you might want to have a 3.5bar Porsche fuel pressure reg on standby to squeezew a bit more out of them.
-
This is the probe - connects straight to the wiring to the gauge. Connection between the probe and the exhaust manifold is via the swagelock fitting in the picture (compression fitting onto the probe and 1/8NPT tapped into the manifold).
-
Will do Kev. It'll be next weekend now but will post it up when I try it. My concern at the moment is that being ET35 they wont clear my Porsche brakes (my MO's are ET25 and even with them being 16" they clear the callipers nicely but not by 1cm from memory).

Loads in the search on this .... http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/search.php?keywords=battery+drain&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=firstpost&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search Usually good as the first port of call.

Looking forward to warmer weather then

Picked up a few bits ready for the forthcoming year (a lot of it courtesy of TaulPaul - cheers mate). Some Oz Ultraleggera 7x17 with R888 tyres (and yes there are 3 more), a pair of uprated G60 driveshafts, and Vibratechnics front engine and gearbox mounts (hopefully going on in a couple of weeks when the EGT probe gets fitted as it'll mean moving the engine). 2010 is the year I will fit the nitrous as well (and hopefully I wont be saying "2011 is the year...." in 12 months time  ). Tyres will be summer ones I think, and I need to get some small hubcentric spacers as the offsets higher then my current wheels.

Cheers. Sure but there'a not much to add really. Basically the positions were mocked up underneath, then 2 small sqaure holes cut in the supporting part of the underside of the bonnet so they could be pushed in. The holes were cut the same size as the washer jets so when they were popped in they clicked into place. We did leave enough room to add some small shims (only 1mm) so they could be angled against the window properly. Being honest it was Mike at Performance trim who did that, as I didn't want to cust up one of his carbon bonnets. Hope that helps.

You can get hall effects transducers that slip over the wire. They work for AC and DC. Wire goes through it and electric field generated by that makes a current flow in the transducer, and its that that is measured. I would have though you'd need a pretty sensitive one though.

I had a situation like his on my G60. It turned out to the the gasket where pipe comes out of the bottom right of the block. Corrosion meant it was not sitting properly and was ever so slightly (but continually) loosing fluid. Replaced the o-ring, smoothed off the surface o the block and it has not happened since.
-
I had one for while - got rid of it after shredding 2 belts in a month. Never had a problem with belt slip on the normal ribbed system.
-
No, I can't unfortunately - I couldn't remember the terminology he used in the title. Just tried search for 'fuse box cover clips' and it was the first thing that came up.
-
Its basically acouple of poppers, and as far as I know they are no longer available. There was someone on here a while back that had a load and was selling them off in pairs, for not huge amounts of money.
-
Ditto. The guys who are running Shrick manifolds and 263 cams are developing upwards of 220bhp without forced induction and without changing the injectors. There should be scope within the specs of the current injectors if you just need a slight increase, which should be enough unless you are going FI.
