Thats basically what I have installed on mine. I have the Aquamist 2d kit. It's not cheap but it is made up of far better quality components and also maps itself to mirror the fuel injectors firing! Excellent kit!!

I bought an ILOK motorsport Flex Joint for mine from http://www.senioraftermarket.co.uk VERY very good flex joint!!!
-
I dont think they will!

You've got a much bigger and more dangerous problem bringing out the drivers side however!!! - IIRC Thats where your fuel lines run as thats what I was looking at when I was thinking about doing it! I was thinking about bringing it out both sides and had teh brake lines one side and fuel the other!!!!!

Mike - I'm going to be putting on a new rear bumper on mine next week while its in for respray as I melted the exhaust cutout on mine. If you want I can cut out a section for you to plastic weld into your bumper to lose the exhaust cutout and toe eye! Call it £15 delivered???

Just a big headache getting them here and cutting out the handles etc! Kit would be easier I would have thought???? Unless you can cut the handles out and send them to me, possibly along with how it all goes together!??

None!!

This is what I was looking to do with mine but bring the exhaust out of the gap in my side skirt! However to achieve it I would have to cut out a section of my sill which wouldnt be a too clever idea i woudl have thought!!!!! Also concerned about how loud it would be losing the back box and having to put a small box in as it is the largest silencer I have and it's already very loud!!

Does anyone know where else I can get a Audi A3 Door handle conversion kit from other than Venom as they are closed until the 8th and I need it quickly!!!???

For christmas mine is having a new front end, a full respray (body and engine out and angine bay sprayed!) and a few little body mods!!!!

Just whatever you do, do not hand over ANY money until you are happy. If you feel that they are not up to sorting it then you can take your car away and not pay any money. They would have to chase you through the court for cash and if you can prove their work is substandard then they haven't got a chance of winning. They are not aloud by law to withhold your car inlue of payment. I had this a few years back with my car when having my custom intercooler work done. (many will remember) I took my car to a "performance specialist" to have a custom intercoller setup done. 8 weeks later tehy had still not completed teh work, I had serious reservations about the quality of the work and decided enough was enough. I went to remove my car, took a recovery wagon as my car was in pieces. When I informed the garage owner, he dropped his shutters in the garage and locked my car in refusing to give it back until payment was made. I managed to stay inside with my car. I then called the police and they came out. They made the garage owner release my car and hand over ALL parts even those I hadnt paid for yet. Once the car and all parts were on teh recovery wagon the policeman informed me that I was within my rights not to pay anything and that the owner could do nothing except lodge a claim with the courts which he was unlikely to win!!!!!! Admittedly I didnt want to stoop to his level and agreed I would pay for the parts that he ordered only! Basically the moral is - DON'T PAY unless you are 100% happy with the work!!!

Chris Knott was the broker, But the policy is an Aon Classic Collection Policy, underwritten by Royal and Sun Alliance!

Yay!!!! Good news today! Engineer rang me direct to say he had inspected my car today and has authorised all the parts and labour etc for the FULL repair of my car. They are going to issue a payment to me by cheque for teh full amount minus my excess (to be claimed back if proved not my fault!) and will be in tomorrows post!!!!!!! Can't fault the service I've had on this policy!!! Accident Saturday, reported monday, inspected and cheque authorised by thursday for fridays post. All done in the space of 5 days

Don't do it at all for me!!!

As said in my PM I think it'd be worth more if you repaired it, even if you sold it afterwards. I'm sure a few on here will be able to tell you hwo to find out which gearbox you have. Then the garage I told you about can do the replacement quite cheaply, certainly ALOT less than you were wuoted before, and I can't see the headgasket being a fortune to replace! I'd check that route first before giving up totally if I was you as you stand to lose alot of money otherwise!!

Think it looked better as the 80's Classic Allegro!
-
Paul I presume I'm talking to the right person. If so how did you get on with the new box on ebay???
-
You really dont need another block though unless something is wrong with yours. There isn't really mush of an advantage to keeping your original head and block together. I would say the bigger advantage is keeping your original block and chassis together, saves you doing the DVLA paperwork! The main advantage of the first option will be torque!!! Cost options your best bet will be a new set of pistons that will take you to 1900cc that are available from Darren at G-Werks. They are a direct replacement to standard. Have your block honed out and change all the big end bearings, gaskets, bolts etc to give it that new engine build without having to buy a new block that unless is a problem with you just don't really need to!!!
-
It is worth going for the 1940cc option. But it's not cheap. You need a new set of Pistons, new crank, ARP Bolts, new head set etc etc etc plus the block needs to be overbored. This is quite an expensive option You can go down the 1900cc route with just a set of pistons and get your block honed out which would be cheaper. Then the other nessaceries such as headset, head bolts etc But obviously there is no replacement for displacement!! lol Cost wise - pass with the first but it won't be cheap. The second one, you'll be looking in the region of 1-2 grand by the time you've got all the silly little things. Plus labour if your not doing it yourself. One thing when I built mine I noticed is that I went WAY WAY over budget just because of all the little extras you don't count on or find you need in the process. New bolts, things you missed, things you think "oh I'll just do that while I'm at it, it doesn't cost alot!!!! So I'd jsut say be prepared!

It doesn't actually do anything - just a toy so to speak. Wait till you've got sound and watch the adverts, you'll get it then!
-
It is a VW Fast - Ltd Edition in the US, they made 600 to celebrate the launch of the new GTI! VW FAST or Another one There are about 6 of the adverts and they gave away 600 of the VW Fasts with the first 600 GTI's sold

Well so far the insurance company has been great. Asked if I wanted them to arrange repair or if I had a garage I would prefer to use. Said I had a garage. They said take it to them to start get the quote done and they would get an engineer to them within 3 days to approve the quote. As soon as that is done the work will start straight away. So should be early in the new year and it will all be done. They are going to spray the whole car as well sorting out a few minor issues with body work and a few body modifications while I'm at it that I've had in mind for a while. But I'll keep them a surprise for now. Personally I think it was my Fast's fault as it was his first ride out in the car!!!!!

What tyres are you using out of interest? The 16V box is a great box to be using IIRC - I'd look more to be going down the road of a Peloquin LSD
