    Just tell me

You'll not get 8.5" wide 18's under the arches without MAJOR modifications in a million years. I have 17"x 8 and have had to roll the arches. You can just squeeze 8.5" 17's under there but it's at a push. biggerbigben has managed 17x8.5 porsche wheels like mine but he has coverted to 4wd and has managed it with a negative camber that lets them squeeze in with rolling the arches also. Plus as everyone else has said the ride quality (or lack of it) will be terrible!!! Unwritten rule tends to be 16's if you want to keep ride quality and 17's if you can live without it to an extent!
  6. But it's not a Porsche an I don't need to pretend!
  7. You know what................ I can't exactly remember!!! I think 205/40/17's
  8. They are 8's And nothing less than Goodyear Eagle F1's - Don't think I'd ever have any other tyre - The grip on these are AMAZING!
  9. Why look at expensive conversions when you can buy a straight swap 6 speed conversion!!!! This is what I'm currently looking at for my G60 G60 Box Or a straight swap for a VR6 Box And the cost is FAR less than a Quaife Box and much easier than trying to convert an 02J to fit an 02A!!!! Work out about £1500 for a brnad new box + Shipping into the UK!!!
  10. Not sure if I want to post this on here after your commnet bristolbaron and please no comments........ My mum used to own mine!!!!!!
  11. Also.... New part arrived to hopefully end my exhaust issues!!! ILOK Motorsport Flex Joint capable of withstanding up to 1100deg and about the strongest in the business apparently - Thanks to Kev for pointing me in the right direction!!!! In theory it is all going on tomorrow providing the new centre box turns up tomorrow!!!
  12. So remembered I had some new pics on the camera from where I gave the car a proper clean and detail!!! Came out lovely and shiney!!!! Shame doesn't look like that now, although will try and get somewhere near it for the RR day!!
  13. Well I had to share this. Had a bit of fun "playing" with a Golf VR6 today. Lovely long dual carriageway near where I live, intersected only by a few sets of traffic lights. I calmly pulled onto the road at a set of lights from a side road and see a Golf VR pulling up to the red lights with a set of round headlight conversion and I just knew he'd try it on! Sure enough got to the next set and he'd weaved his way round a few other cars to get to the front of the queue next to me at the next set of lights and proceeded to Rev up his engine in a bid to get me to play. Well in fairness I shouldn't have but the road was clear ahead as far as the eye could see and I couldn't help it........ So I dropped it on green and left him for dead. Don't think he was too impressed as when we reached the end of the carriageway to a roundabout he caught me as I stopped for traffic. He had a look on him that just was one of being "slightly miffed" Oh such fun when a VR6 driver gets embarressed into thinking they have the fastest of the older VW's!!!! Not a dig at all VR drivers but some drivers in general just ask for it!!!
  14. LM's are possibly my favourite wheels aswell but as you said - they just don't work on a Rado. Think it's because they are 18's and 18 is just tooooo big on a C IMHO!!
  15. I finally bought my perfect rims a few months ago!!! Porsche Cup3 Turbo 3 Piece Split Rims!!!
  16. Isn't that the guy that was on the Forum a while back?
  17. Lanzar Neo's fit in perfectly without cutting anyplastic and are VERY good speakers. However they are a little pricey! You want to aviod cutting any plastic out as it makes them weak and vibrate with the sound!
  18. No worries there fella - I'm not taking this task on until January fella!!! Have a few plans for the beginning of the year before the shows kick off!! Primarily exhaust system and respray!
  19. Thats exactly the conversation I had with Blue Flame today. They think the bore size is too small and think I should move up to 3". Also I need to modify my manifold as I think that is where the restriction is causing pressure build up and in turn heat build up. The manifold goes down to a 2" bore size before we increase it to 2.5". So basically I need to get a good engineer to cut off the end of the manifold and open it up to a bigger bore size more like 3" - then change the entire systems to 3" possibly!
  20. Mmmmmm My missus isn't even aloud to think about driving my G60!!! But then in fairness she wouldn't anyway as she knos it is my pride and joy and on top of that for one she's never driven a car as remotely powerful as mine and two she wouldn't have a hope of getting insured on it. But on the flip side I've just ordered a brand new Alfa 159 that is fully loaded and I've got to put her on the insurance of that one! It's either the Alfa or the G60.
  21. Appreciate that but the few other independant contract hire companies said that when it comes to Saab models they use Saab Finance for all their deals as they subsidise the car to make the rentals very cheap, hence why no-one could get near there quotes! mattsomondo - i did go to my local Audi garage to have a look at an A4 and get an idea of rates. An A4 with exactly the same spec as the Saab and the same RRP came in at £686 per month - a whole £230 more expensive!!!! So i didn't take it any further!!!!
  22. Well it seems my hand has been forced and I'm changing to the Alfa. I signed off all the proposal forms for Saab and was shocked to hear that they refused me the finance telling me they saw adverse information on my credit history. So I went to Experian and Equifax and bought my credit reports from both. Experian was giving me a credit score of 959 out of 1000 which is pretty damn good. Equifax was showing me at 458 out of 475. The only thing out of the ordinary was that I have lived here for 7 years but didn't put myself on the electoral role till 3 years ago as I just kept forgetting! So they must have turned me down on that and wouldn't even talk to me about it! So I applied for finance on the Alfa and went straight through and got accepted! Black Alfa with Red leather it seems here I come. There is an outside finance company that Saab put me in touch with that is working on getting me the finance but I have a feeling that they will be more expensive and TBH i would mush rather have the finance with the manufacturer!
  23. It's always done that. I don't mean they come out the back of the exhaust but they can be seen in the exhaust when behind. That I think may be caused by the cam - I've heard you can get an of overlap IIRC but I might be wrong and talking out of where the sun shines again!
  24. But the only thing that could be increasing heat is really if as the others say it is running too lean - But as I keep stating we know it isn't!!!!!!! As I've said before the car is running spot on - It's been looked at enough. With all the hassle I've had with building this car I get it checked and rechecked all the time as I'm paranoid about it! The rest of the system is fine but at the end of it all it comes down to the centre box is quite close to the manifold join and this particular exhaust system can't seem to cope with the heat coming out of it and yes it is very hot. Looking at all the aftermarket systems they all seem to run only two boxes and run a decat straight through pipe to the rear 2 boxes. This is where my car differs and I am running an extra cylindrical baffle box where the cat used to be to try and quieten the car somewhat as we all know it is a VERY loud car. I think this is where the difference lies. To this end I think that perhaps aren't going to get a resolution with an off the shelf on e either by the looks of it. My only other thoughts are a different custom made exhaust such as Blue Flame and see if they are up to it. But with a long conversation with them first so they know what they are letting themselves in for!
  25. Spot on Supercharged, it's not rich it is way too lean-too much oxygen and not enough fuel. If you had an 020 box with rod shift gears you would have melted the linkage bushes as well. You need to get the fuelling increased. It's not running lean. It's been set up to perfection when it had a full custom map at ship wizards. The running of the car is spot on. I've had it all checked over and it runs spot on. But at the end of the day you have to remember that this is not an ordinary G60 engine. G60 engines generate alot of heat when they are standard so I think this is at the end of the day an exageration of that. And at the end of the day it's going to be running even leaner soon as soon as the water/methanol injection is hooked up!!!!!
