  1. Problem is if they did it would be a much watered down version! I'm sure it would be likely to be a disappointment compared to the concept version.
  2. Steve is right The speakers you have gone for are great, however they are not designed to deliver bass. The Neo's are fill in speakers and do the job fantastically. Not sure which kappas you have but are they only mounted in teh dash position or do you have them in the doors aswell ie. components?? Really to ever get any bass out of a system you need some sort of subwoofer in the system to deliver it. Even with audioscape doorpods to boost you up to 6.5" you'll still need one in teh system. 6x9's give some bass but are all rounders and are a bit "not great at any of it" but make do when no amp or sub is involved. Unfortunatly Jim your gonna have to bite the bullet at some point and get a sub and amp config of some sort in there!
  3. It's the engine. Currently up for sale (the engine that is!) Is a 2031cc Using the original PG Block. Complete one off engine Overbored to 83.5mm Custom designed pistons by JE 9a Crank and Rods Retaining Oil Squirters, but additional piston lubrication due to the added oil galleries in the 9a rods that teh G60 rods dont have! Fully lightened, flat planed, and balanced bottom end ported flowed head Custom Map etc etc etc Teh list goes on and on At that point was pushing 245bhp but 246lb/ft of torque. But that was before the Lysholm Charger and Methanol injection went on. No measured figures since. But was DAMN quick! And threw flames ALOT! As dirtytorque said its up for sale!
  4. You can't bore the PG engine to 84mm its just fractionally too big. When I did mine I was asked if I wanted to go big to 83mm or extreme maximum 83.5mm Any further was off limits as taking it too far and engine would be too fragile
  5. I am serious, but it won't be yet. Will be looking in the new year. Just doing some research at the moment and still undecided between that and a Tuscan S. If they are from Italy, won't they be left hookers though??
  6. Ok first things first. Source a block. Will any vw/audi 2 litre 4 pot with a bore/stroke of 82.5/92.8 mm do ? The RP and AAM passat engine codes have a compression ratio of 9.0:1 so I thought this block might make a good starting point ?! Will I need the transmission from said block or world a G60 tran bolt on ? Also I have read that PG and H1 blocks have improved oil/water ways to cope with the stresses of a supercharged engine,is it Russian roulette picking a block from N/A engine? err..I thinks that all for now. Thanks in advance Robert. I'm not sure whether any block will do - I doubt it! But yes the PG and H1 block does have MUCH improved oil and waterways to cope with the large amount of heat it creates. Also I know some blocks don't have the oil squirters which is a big no no! This is the much discussed problems with the TSR engine conversions!
  7. Before counting on using your G60 Pistons I would get them checked out professionally by getting them xray'd. When you bent the valves it is likely that the valves then "kissed" the pistons. This can cause factures in the pistons not visible to the naked eye but will weaken them to a point where when you start your engine running again can become more serious when the pistons detonate causing more damage to the internals of your engine as fragments of pistons can jam open the valves causing them to bend, score the cylinders that turn the block to scrap and much more!! Get them checked out first!
  8. A what?????[/quote:5233a] Watch this video and the 4 down the right hand side. They were adverts in the US for the Golf GTI Limited Edition http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij9A22-F1d8
  9. Do you have any details on your G werks engine? Im hoping to go that way with mine. Think ive done mine the wrong way round tho as i bought a screw charger first. Are you sure you wouldnt fancy mine?? I'm on the sales pitch again as I need to sell it!!!! Woudl suit a screw charger perfectly as that was the last charger I had running on it!
  10. I had one of the Oringinal GTI FAST's in mine, but I'm about to put it up for sale on ebay as I no longer have the Rado and they are as rare as hens teeth. Particularly in the UK!
  11. To run mine in I spent 5 days doing a big circular trip alternating it each day going from Birmingham to Manchester, across to Leeds and back down to Birmingham. On the other day going from Bham to London down the M40 across the M25 Up the M1 and back across to bham. While doing this you need to keep accelerating and letting off to keep the engine under load rather than just doing a nice easy journey so it runs in properly and the piston rings seat properly. It's a bloody nightmare and bloddy boring. I had to get 1500 miles on it before remapping it. As g60bv said it was bloody expensive as the car isn't running effeciently so drinks fuel and is also bloody boring and tiring as I needed to do it in the evening to ensure I didn't get snarled up in traffic!!!
  12. Yeah but that uses a diesel block that doesn't have the oil squirters and often results in the engine going bang!!! Do you not think that if there was an easy option I would have taken that rather than the cost and heartache and time (a year!!!) to build mine to a full 2ltr spec!!! You couldn't split the head off mine and use your own as mine has been specifically matched to the block as to create such a monster everything had to be set up to work perfectly with each other. The Valve pots on mine are increased to create extra cc's to assist with compression. However my head is FULLY done to as far as possible. Everything is matched up. After all the components were sourced and put together it was all lightened and perfectly balanced. You'd be better off if you bought mine, selling your head. You'd get good money for it though!
  13. Was very true what you said about my build - topped with we had to manage to take extra cc's out of the valve pot in order to increase the about of room for compression, this had to be done absolutely precisely, was watching them measure the cc's in the pots using liquid to get them exact!!! It was a HUGELY complecated build and one that Racepower stated that they would never do it again. They just wanted to do it to say that they had done it!!
  14. TBH though, you need to spend about £25K to get a decent 348 that has good service history and is RHD. From what I 've been looking at anyway.
  15. Is a little cheap but yeah thats a 456! Been looking at Ferrari's myself the last few days as they are something I'm thinking about, although I like many others would opt for the more common Ferrari style of the 348 or if I can stretch that far a 355 thats why the 456 is getting so cheap. Not really a shape associated with the Marque. It's more their attempt at a family car (almost!)
  16. I had Brembo Seat Ibiza Cupra R 305mm 4 pots on my G60 and I had a heavy foot! Never had an issue with warped discs
  17. Fella - whatever answer people come back with you should appreciate that whether you've done it before or not they are trying to help you. At the end of the day my advice like many others is exactly the same. Save some cash up and get it to an expert, I appreciate we don't all have loads of money, but you've had this issue for 2 years and in that time you've done ALOT of other modifying of your car, when really you could have put that money to use in sorting the car and making sure mechanically it runs spot on before making it look better. A good looking car is nothing if it doesn't go anywhere!!!!!
  18. I think we got the idea that you wnt someone to do this for you the first THREE times you asked!!! Patience is a virtue Riley! People have got there own stuff to do
  19. Hence why I said that really, if you want a power car tehn i've taken the hassle and cost out of it! But if you want to do it yourself then get proper advice as already stated and steer clear of TSR
  20. Or you could do what I did and get Late Lupo washer jets and mount them under the hood!
  21. Ahem!!!! FULL PG 2031cc MONSTER ENGINE! - All finished done and rady to drop straight in and enjoy!
