Whats a ball park figure to get an engine bored out?
Blue_Joe replied to dirtytorque's topic in Engine Bay
How could it not be the best way to spend. If you look at what we went through to build that engine, I've basically taken all the heartache out of it for you. AND more importantly the cost!!! You can't just bore out the block to get to where I got to. It was a year long engine design and build with alot of learning processes along the way - even for an engine builder like Jim at Racepower that has been doing it for 50 years. The pistons alone in mine were custom designed one offs from JE that cost as much as whatI'm selling the engine for! Everything in that engine has been custom engineered to get the absolute best out of it! I know it's blowing the trumpet of that engine - but it really is engineering at its best (Racepowers work!) -
Whats a ball park figure to get an engine bored out?

What are you looking to do??? I have an engine for sale that is already done to the most extreme you could take it and only done about 5000 miles and includes teh ECU with a custom remap by chipwizards. If you want to know more I can let you know all the details, but essentially using a G-Lader with 65mm pulley it was pushing 246bhp and 247 lb/ft of torque. Thats about the best torque I have seen from a G60. -
Look at the roof lines and then find a pic of the IROC launch car........ Nowhere near the same!!! Think there will be some very disappointed people out there when officially launched!
-
Looks more like a focus than the concept that was released in Berlin. I'f be very disappointed if I had ordered one from the release only to find it drastically changed on build!!!
-
Of course they can.

Think you specifically need a G60 one, you'd be best ordering one from the stealers

The Nugget - what to do with it if I go to Dubai
Blue_Joe replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
My friend has gone to Dubai and cars are so cheap out there and fuel is so cheap it's not really worth shipping your car out there and as you've already said it'd not really suitable for out there. If I was you I'd probably sell it or store it! -
Bahn Brenner sell a 6 Speed Box for the VR6!

Mmmmm not sure on them, look a little too small. You need to hear them really. The thing to remember with 6x4's though is they will only ever be fill in speakers. you can only but try them out! I have a set of Lanzar Neos but currently they are as sold however the buyer was supposed to pick them up last week. Let me check he still wants them and I'll let you know! Sam

I used Lanzar Neos in the rear, they are 6x4 and 100W RMS. Although they are alot more expensive than teh Kappa's, when I wought them they were £110. However not only do they sound very good they fit in with absolutely no modification to the shelf supports with is always good as when you modify them they tend to vibrate as you weaken the structure of them. On the sub and box subject. If you have the funds I have a modified Audioscape sub box to take the perfect match to your speakers. In the box is an Infinity Perfect 12 Sub. Awesome sub, the box was extended (although has been done to look like it was always done like that!) Yours for £130 inc delivery

Plus that big disc conversion wouldn't work on the C anyway as the rear disc also integrates the bearings etc. Too involved!!!! The rears may look puny but when people see a BIG set of proper brakes up front - they know it means business and therefore the rear look becomes irrelevant!
-
Tis true - I thought the same when I put my engine in that I'd need to uprate the back to match the fronts. Approached AP Racing to see if could get a front and back setup - they told me to leave as is as if uprated the back would only end up with teh rear overtaking me everytime I braked hard!

Thanks Fella!!!

Will DDi dials / clocks from a VR6 fit a G60 ?
Blue_Joe replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Interior
The DDI are just faces to the clocks, the question is will VR6 clocks work on a G60 - The answer is no - they wont! -
The fuel return goes onto the XRP fitting, then you blank off the sensor!
-
Sorry Jon but listen to your big brother!!! Think of a hatchback as a 2 box car, one box for the engine the other for the passengers and luggage, whereas a saloon is a 3 box car - one for engine, one for passengers and one for luggage!!
-
I'd replace the plastic flange and the o-ring inside it. They are only a few quid from GSF
-
You just need the normal FPR, you don't really need one with a gauge unless your having an adjustable FPR which on your setup isn't needed. The one I have which you enquired is absolutely spot on for what you need!
-
I love it!!!!!

When you disconnect teh fuel pipes wait until fuel has stopped coming out for about 30 secs before looking down the end of the pipe for some unknown random reason. I found out by not doing this that petrol stings like buggery when you get it in the eye!!!!!!

Think if you read his post again he says - it wasn't as quick as a 106!!!

Mine was also a 1973 Mini - 850cc with a 1.0ltr conversion. I used to have to carry a hammer in the car all the time as the top engine mount was knackered and kept hitting the jet for the carburretor on the bulkhead so it would bend and stick. The hammer was to knock it back into shape! - Why I didn't just replace the engine mount i have still never figured out!!!!
