  1. Secondly use the search and also the knowledge base and look at the Buying Guide!
  2. Sorry mate - I don't really want how much I spend on my car to be public knowledge. And on top of that I really don;t want to add it all up myself as it'll make me cry
  3. For now! - I really am not sure what else I could get out of it. And I really need to draw the line somewhere! It's starting to go WAY overboard on costs now! Next i need to contrate on sorting out minor niggles and alterations with the body work plus I want a bare metal respray with a lartge amount of layers (around 7!!!) then smoothed out so I get that REALLY DEEP shine finish! The choice between tuning the G60 and buying a VR6 is really dependant on what you want out of it! They are soo different you need to think about what you are going to use it for and what experiance you want out of it. The G60 is a raw aggressive kind of car and as mine is a second car I don;t mind doing all this to it. But I would hate it as an everyday car! The VR6 however is much more smooth and controlled kind of power. So really it's a personal choice. Would i do it again??? - I wouldn't undertake all the manual side myself. I think I'd leave all the aggro and heartache to the garage next time. I just hope the power is worth it!! But you also need to consider - It was VERY VERY Expensive! Again was it a stright plug and play or need any giggary pokery???
  4. What size fan did you use and how easy was it to fit??? Did you have to wire it up any special way or did it plug straight in
  5. Just wondering and also is it a straight swap or do I need to do some creative wiring???
  6. We were and after 15 mins was all fine and went over to Stevemacs new motor for a 2 minute look - and thats when it happened!
  7. Today - For the first time in a while IT LIVED!!! Ran for a good 20mins to harden the cam. Then had a slight setback in that the fan didn;t cut in as was trapped and so overheated and blew a basket on a plate on the side of the block under the timing belt and leaked all the coolant out! I knew the plate needed changing but had sort of forgotten about it. So ordering new plate tomorrow and gasket, bolt on new plate, refill with coolant and time to run it in!!!! I have some Vid of it running but need to encode it before can post!! Show you all soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Remember you still need the 16V head, Inlet Manifold, TB, exhaust manifold and all other respective parts from the top end of a 16V
  9. If your going to the trouble of Red Tops and an SNS Chip - Put a smaller pulley on the car - 68mm would be about best for an everyday car!
  10. Well today we refitted the head as I was mobile enough on my bad leg to do a bit of work! Took off the old timing belt and it had a section about 3 inches long that had been stipped of teeth! So all we have left is tomorrow refit the new Powergrip Timing Belt, exhaust and inlet manifold, fuel rail, alternator, etc etc turn it over by hand and prepare to start her up for the first time in a while!!!!! I still need a new charger bracket but can manage with mine for now (so Andy665 - if you've managed to find that one yet?????) So All - Fingers crossed all goes well for once!!!!!!!!!!
  11. If the Supercharger is blown then you may well have other concerns, If the internals of the charger detonate it can blow the contents of the charger straight into the block if your unlucky and do more servere damage to the engine itself. Presuming that the charger isn't making boost for that reason! I would prehaps be looking for a better example with a well looked after charger! A new charger is going to set you back a fair packet. New around £1000 British Pounds. 2nd Hand - Upwards of £500 plus a rebuild to be sure!
  12. My parents lived in Keighley until recently - Up on Braithwaite Road! Now they've buggered off to the South of France!
  13. Hhhhhmmm I love all the Mods I've done - but the most practical: Lupo Wipers Headlights Brembo Brakes
  14. I spoke to my neighbour kelly who is a researcher for the BBC and also does some camera work about taking some footage of my motor out and about. Don't know how quickly I can get it done bearing in mind I have to get the car back together this weekend and then run in and map, but if your interested in including a bit of it I won't mind!
  15. No Hope of ever getting mine up ramps - I have to reverse into my mates workshop to get it in and then we have to jack it onto the two post lift!
  16. Birmingham! Not that far - but Girlfriends sister and fiancee run the Hole in the Wall pub in Shrewsbury!
  17. Unfortunatly not Darren!!!! I can't even fit the parts I've got at the moment never mind get under the car and have a nightmare fitting a new sump.
  18. No more for the time being for me - even my little surprise mod has had to go on hold as with my leg all bust up I need to be resting up not tinkering on the car!
