Nope - Still not back on the road! Problems with the Toothed Pulley kit keeps throwing the belt off! but new set of pulleys should be on my doormat at home if all is well and should be back on the road at weekend all being well. Then can finally start running it in. Not doing any stupid overnight run ins - was a daft idea!

Because I love the Raw Aggresiveness of it! And particularly with everything I have done to it now!!!!! It's not a daily driver so I don;t need a smooth motorway muncher - I prefer the fun at a weekend aggression! And I also don't like the shape of the newer Rados, the roundness of the front end just doesn't do it for me! [Don's Flak Jacket, Helmet and hides under table waiting for the barrage of grief to subside!]

I'd never leave my G60 for a VR6

I've heard you talking about this for a while - could be interesting! -
I feel that I need to add a few possible corrections, I think that i'm right in correcting these!!! Actually I think this was something that happened during the space race last century when the americans sent the drill bit to the russians - but we all know what chinese whispers are like! dutch Schrick- American - No its a german company actually, based in germany and owned by the AVL Group which is also a german company. Sorry guys! However when it comes to performance engineering, I think in all the brtis have it far outweighed than the americans and most other countrys, which is why you'll find that the majority of the rally and F1 teams are based in the UK such as Mitsubishi RalliArt World Rally Championship Team, Prodrive (Subaru Rally) Maclaren to name a few. We are experts at extracting BHP and combining it with handling. Look at the BIG american cars, huge gas guzzling engines but couldn't handlef for toffee, manly due to breeding I think - Big straight roads on the streets and oval car circuits but compare to brits that have twisty roads and twisty race circuits so we have to combine power with handling!!! And lets face it when you talk 1/4 mile - Drag racing was an american thing. The new Dodge Viper - 510BHP out of a 8.3 Ltr V10 - 61.44 BHP per ltr The Maclaren Mercedes - 625BHP out of a 5.5 Ltr V8 - 113.63 BHP per ltr (ok its based on a german design) Aston Martin Vanquish S - 520BHP out of a 6Ltr V12 NA - 86.66 BHP per Ltr (For a true brit) Or a real contender Noble M400 - 425BHP out of a 3 Ltr Twin Turbo - Thats a whopping 143bhp per ltr So when it comes to engineering I don't think many are better. Its just that there are many other factors here. High cost of modifiying, Whopping insurance bills, Lots of Speed cameras etc etc etc that stop it being such a big market over here!!!!!

However MADDUB you are running a Rieger wide arch kit so a completely different story than trying to get 18's on a standard arch car! I think you will struggle with alot of rubbing unless major arch mods are made. But I'd agree with Neil G60 that 18's just look tooooo big

These are the wheels I have on mine. They may list them - but try and buy them as they are rare as rocking horse s**t In fact I'm not even sure if they are availabel at all any more!
-
The only down side to these gauges Henny is apparently they are VERY innacuarate as are not calibrated. I looked into these into some detail when I bought my new set!
-
Use an impact socket and you should get it to grip on! In theory the locking nuts shouldn't be done up to tight as your not supposed to tighten them right up - but chances are................... However once socket is hemmer on should be fine! Thats what I did last time some idiot at a tyre place used an airgun to do my lockers up so that the key sheared when I tried to undo them!

We all may feel a little aggreved with the police sometimes, however they ahve a job to do so I say be polite and let them get on with it! If you've done something wrong thenyou can't really argue! All to often th ePolice get a bad rap and I'll agree some the power goes to the head a little, but they have a job to do and lets face it if you need them, if your car was stolen or house broken into etc etc you will want there undivided attention. My full respects to the Police!

I thought a Mk2 GTI Head wouldn't go on a G60???

APC Overnight are about the cheapest and best I have found! £60 to send my entire engine to Racepower

Oooooo You just missed out as I just sold my Original RHD 2 gauge pod - so many people saying that they would have loved it but the post was on here ages before it sold! I definately wouldn't fit that 2 gauge pod, I'm not liking them at all! Personally I sold my 2 gauge pod to put in the Audi 3 gauge pod where the ashtray is. Make sure you get the pod with them gauges angled towards the driver as looks sooooo much better! I picked mine up for a tenner without gauges! Easy enough to do just remember not to go mad at it, just little bit at a time!

One simple design flaw right at the start - Front wheel drive! Should have made them rear wheel drive!
-
If your going to change it make sure you get an Elring one from GSF as they are pretty much the best you can get. They aren't that expensive, mine was about 20 odd quid for a G60!

dinkus Have you taken the mirror to bits then??? If so it would be cheaper to post just a few bits. I'll take the mirror apart tonight and say whats broken. But it seems to be the bar up the middle that hold the 2 pieces together and let it swivel
-
gradeAfailure I'm more concerned that it's my drivers mirror really and hate driving without!
-
The thickness does matter. I have an offset of 52 on my 17" porsche wheels and am using 25mm hub adapters which makes the wheels fill the arch nicely. Not sure shat you would need for et65 but are you sure they will fit even with adapters as thats an odd offset!
-
Thanks fella your a star!!! - Just thought though - I need to run the car in and going to get pulled without a drivers mirror!!! any chance you could post it???
-
Someone last night snapped off my mirror unit at the pivot breaking the bar inside that it rotates on. and at the moment I can't afford to replace it then get it smoothed and repainted!!!! Does anyone know if I can strip down the mirror unit and replace the broken part??? Also does anyone have a spare mirror unit that they don;t want or is broken/damaged etc that I can rob the bit from??? I'm a bit skint at the moment! Thanks Sam

Well you get JMR Engine mounts from - wait for it.......... JMR - John Mitchell - 16VG60 on here!!!! If you get a JMR Front Engine mount don't put anything other than standard on rear and gearbox otherwise it will be too harsh. Also replace the crossmember bushes as only costs a few quid!

He's not been on the forum for a long time - since a few months before GTI International as I remember meeting up with him then
