You can delete the oil jets, however as Steve said you run the risk of melting your engine down!!!! I am currently having my G60 bored out to 2Ltr and keeping the oil jets, however Jim from Race Power Motorsport (but for now GP Speed Equipment!) is the only person that has worked out how to do it by machining the block. But he won;t tell anyone how to do it. Don't blame him to be honest!

Hi and Welcome to the Forum You can get Clear Headlights from Inpro which are also angel eyes - you can see in my signiture pic. They are projectors and best to get them from Gwent VW - about £230 delivered, but you need to remember to use the height adjusters out of your old headlights. We're all longing for the day that they release clear fogs and indicators but none are available and no rumours of any in the making!! Hope that helps!

So - Got the kit!!! Hmmmmm looks like it's going to get interesting. Does anyone on here no exactly what they are doing with this kit?? And do you live anywhere near Birmingham so that when I'm in a position to fit this (ie Engine completed) that would be able to give me and Stevemac a hand! I make a mean cuppa tea!!!!! -

i'M IN AGONY!!!!!!!!! -
Possibly the drive shaft weight has come loose. If it has just cut it off, makes no difference whatsoever (I'm bound to get proved wrong on that again though!!! I cut mine off when it came loose (The weight on the driveshaft people!))

If you keep following the A45 down into Birmingham for a couple of miles then you get to a large roundabout with a BIG Asda infront of you and a furniture place on you left that has closed down. I could meet you somewhere around there early on if that isn't too far for you to come. I've got alot on over the next few nights otherwise I would have met you at the Motorcycle museum -

Right All The video should be ready by next week sometime! However, I need all your attention....... My contact went to great lengths getting this video for us!!!! Spent alot of work and personal time on it. I think it would be a nice gesture if we did something in return. I'm suggesting that anyone that is going to view this video donate £1 or 50p via paypal to me and I will once we have got enough go and buy a Large Bunch of Flowers from all of us at the Corrado Forum for all her trouble. Bear in mind she didn't have to do this for us! Let me know what you think of this and I can set it up! Thanks Sam Mods - Can you Change the name of this post to point to this or something. I don't think we need lots of posts to say who has and hasn't donated but lets show our appreciation!! -
I'd love mine back in one piece instead of the 400 peices its in at the moment!!!!!

Thanks Steve - Just out of interest if I was to map the car to rely on the water injection, how would I build in a failsafe device to retard the ignition timing?????? I have also bought the Dash Display Unit for the extra failsafes it uses, don't know if that would help??? -

Well I spoke to Justin at aquamist and he told me that it would use a coke can full every minute at full boost (bearing in mind the kit I have is progressive so this figure is at maximum boost) But I am arranged a call with the MD of ERL (Aquamist) this evening to discuss in greater detail. -

However on the downside of mapping it, If I run out of water when the engine is wanting water then I could end up with a melted piston and other major damage to the engine! Bearing in mind that the kit will use approximatly 300cl/min so 3ltrs every 10mins That would mean that even with a 7 ltr bottle I would need to stop every 20 mins if on full boost!!!!!! Thats alot of stopping and starting and expensive if I want to run water/methanol mixture!!!! -
So I've gone and splashed out!!(literally on water injection!!!!) So just some simple things and I know it's been discussed in a broad sense on the Water Inj Group Buy but.... Obviously I'm doing alot of engine work culminating in a custom remap at the end of the build. So the kit I bought was a Aquamist 2D that has the intelligence not to need mapping but actually detects the fuel flow through the injectors so..... Do I have the car mapped without the water injection working and then due to it's intelligence let the brains of the water injection do the wok or.. Do I have it mapped with the water injection. However does this have implcations that I can't let the water run out and if it does what knock on effects would that have. Oh my Word have I stepped into a minefield by buying this????? And anything else I should consider????

I have it - and have watched it. It was aired on the 20 October 1988 (17 years ago!!!!) from the Birmingham Motor Show and was before Corrado was launched here. Quite amusing as it's not a bit like todays Top Gear!!! Very matter of fact presenting. On the same episode they also review the Cavalier 1.4L and the Peugeot 405 GL Estate and discuss how the advent of leadfree petrol is going to effect us all - How Funny!!!! Will be sorting getting it encoded soon!!!! -
I think someone will be on soon to debate/disagree with that one in more detail, but I remember this discussion from before and It's known that the VAG kit is much more heavy duty than the LUK or the SACHS and is actaully a combination of the 2. Even if you buy one of these 2 decent kits they are NOT the same as the VAG kit. Dutch OOOoooooooo I stand corrected (not for the first time!!!) Sorry all for todays edition of "Sam talks bo**ocks!!!!"
-
Don't go to VAG - get the LUK or is it SACHS one that is better from GSF!!!!! Sorry Steve, but payinig for a name and they're not better, actually probably more like exactly the same one
