  1. C) Colour coded centres with polished lip, they would look ace! (Am I allowed to use the word "ace"? Of course I am, I'm trying to relive my childhood!!) P.S. missed out on those ones off german ebay you PM'd me about, he ended auction early...gutted
  2. I think I'm going to have to take it apart aren't I! What is the difference between the 9a block and the audi 6a block?
  3. Thanks guys.....8) So, port match inlet manifolds, and polish to semi smooth on the inlet ports removing casting marks (240grit), and smooth exhaust ports well removing casting marks(1000grit) Thats what I'll do then, and I'll try to get some photos up to! Cheers
  4. got mine of ebay - FK one for £35!! 8)
  5. So, something like 240 grit on inlet and 800-1000 grit on exhaust?
  6. Stuff like conrod specs, little end bearing size, compression ratio, combustion chamber volume, CR, bore, stroke, etc Not necessarily your normal stuff!
  7. I can't seem to find out technical info on my 9a engine :( , does anyone have a good weblink that has full internal dimensions for my engine, like con-rod dimensions, combustion chamber volume, etc?
  8. Must be the special BIG ASS mercedes edition
  9. I've got standard discs on my 2.0l valver with Ferodo FB2500 (IIRC) and they are soooo much better than original VW pads. And when they get warm they are brilliant! I would recommend them to anyone, made a huge difference. Got to wear them down before move to VR6 calipers up front, and will stick with the Ferodo pads and probably Zimmerman discs when I fit them. (Drove the missus's 306 Dturbo and the brakes absolutley pants in comaprison. Both cars have ABS!)
  10. You are correct my friend....
  11. How often have you used T-cut?
  12. Mine does as similar thing to this, and I found that if I disconnect the ISV, it doesn't stall, but the idle sits a little higher - 1000-1100rpm and if you blip the throttle the idle doesn't stabalise as quickly. But, it might be worth a try.
  13. I'll keep that in mind if the unfortunate happens
  14. not my cup of tea either........ Who's going to photochop them onto riley's car then? Come on guys you've had 6 hours already!!!
  15. Well spotted flusted.... Internal port polishing! Sorry for my inital vagueness!
  16. I'm just polishing my cylinder head at the moment and wanted to know what grit sandpaper to take it down to? Is 240 grit too fine a finish?
  17. Looks good dude, but would agree with the other guys about the grill - three slat would look better IMO, of course ;)
  18. Hey mate is this car from brum/wolves? If so ask him about a race with a silver mk1 g60  about 6mts ago..... :D   He's from Shrewsbury, but he travels about a bit, I'll ask him if he had a race with one...
  19. Just bring the back up about 1/2 inch.....or even the front down 1/2inch! 8)
  20. Yeah was wondering on the price, i like them, look kinda menacing.... And whose manufacturing them?
  21. Not seen them on a car before, didn't like them in the pics in the mags, but on the car is a different story! I like them, good skills my man!

    2.0 G60???

corradowales, did you read the article in PVW March edition about 1.8T conversion for a MK2 Golf? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the late 8v Corrado's are digifant? Therefore you could go down 1.8T route quite easily, plug and play with that custom wiring harness! (QPE I think were the guys doin the looms) Easy power, for not too big an expenditure, I thought, and potentially quite easy to do with your car as the base 8) ;)
