Nice to see you aren't breaking it! Looking forward to seeing your progress :)
-
Can you get a piccie of where the exhaust cam sprocket timing mark is? I can't see it in that piccie you posted earlier..
-
I replaced a 9A inlet cam with a KR inlet cam and everything lined up fine. The cam sprockets will only go one one way as they are keyed. It might be worth checking the key-way isn't funked on the exhaust cam?

Don't break it.... ....let the DG boys work their magic ;)
-
Are there timing marks on both sides of the sprocket? the reason I ask is that you are looking at the other side of them in the picture of yours, compared to the piccie on ClubGTI website. Have you just replaced the inlet cam for a KR version??
-
What do the timing marks on the cam sprockets look like? Piccie?

I'm with CazzaVR and StormchargedVR6, all reds would look lovely particularly all red Impros

Venting to a catch tank would probably help ;)

DG Autotech or Stealth get my vote

That's Toad's forté!

Good work Yan! It was pretty much 3 years to the day that you took the engine out in the first instance!! How good did it feel to finally drive it??
-
Well, just wasted about 10minutes of my life on something I'll never own  Good fun though :D

If it's a split boot, the centrifugal forces will soon jettison it, and thus the CV wont last that long. If it's been doing it for a while, then I'd think it'll need replacing.
-
Cheers Kev :) Anybody else??

VE and Target AFR maps required - I want to have a look at other target AFR maps for different engine configurations, so screen shots would be good, if you can, please? :)

Ah, Sheffield may be a little too far (about 2-3 hours away) dude, but many thanks for the offer :)

Well, bugger me, I'm in the lead
-
Ah, ok. I need to find a known good one to try. Anyone??

Well, I don't think its the ISV. Gave it a good clean and checked it's operation by powering it directly off the battery, and it made no difference. I think I might just do what blaarado did and clean everything, although it'd be nice to know the reason. Feels a bit like over-fuelling to me. Warm-up reg??

Anybody know of a courier that will take a gearbox 44kg.....

The problem with the likes of DHL and UPS is that you need an account to send anything with them. -
Sorry I missed you earlier Tim. Awesome news mate. Looks like your and mine will hit the road at the same time (ish)!! Whoot!

Oh, Christ, off he goes again....

I just wondered if it was stuck open or closed. I now suspect stuck open. Would brake/clutch cleaner be a suitable product to clean it with?
-
Hmmm, ok. I tried disconnecting the ISV, to see if it was that but it stalled pretty much straight away. I also tried squeezing the pipe from the ISV back to the inlet and same happened. Nah, does it when operating the throttle body directly
