I used to work for an independent Car-Audio shop, and we used to offer a service whereby you took your car in and one of our fitters would do an inspection and then we'd produce a letter as proof of fitment of Thatcham approved alarm. I'm sure there will be other places that do the same thing. We charged £25 for the letter. As far as the insurance certificate is concerned, they should have never asked you for the original, and even if it's there policy to do so, they should have returned it as soon as they had taken a copy of it. But I copy sent by you should be perfectly acceptable. THEY are totally liable for the loss and they cannot say they never had the original in the first place, as they asked you for it last year. You should make THEM pay for you to get the alarm inspected to prove make/model etc. I think it's bad form on their part. We've recently taken out a policy with Brentacre, and a copy of our alarm certificate was perfectly fine.

I think you'd be looking at around 1.5k realistically, but that's only because prices have dropped some much recently. It may sell for more to the right person, but it's finding that right person. However, you've spent a lot of time and effort to get it to that state, it'd be a shame to sell now. If it's extra ponies you want, why not either turbo the 16v (not for the faint hearted) or drop a 1.8T in there. Both will give you plenty of scope to go faster still! :nuts:

I would guess that the admin of that site has deleted that thread. It was just a load of bollards about a Ford engine that supposedly ran for eight years with one piston missing. A load of horse schitt marketing rubbish by the site admin, seems to be the general concensus

Well, if it's a show car and will not get driven on the road, it's fair enough, but show car or not he'll still need to drive it. Would hope he's not that stupid, but I doubt it. I'm not impressed by it, but if he'd widened the track properly, then I might give him some credit. I look forward to a 3 point turn in it. :lol:

I had an hours drive in a V8 Vantage a week ago. Awesome peice of machinary. I can only imagine what that V12 must be like. Stunning looking cars though 8)
