  1. Looking at ETKA they are the same 535 199 315. The front cross members are different but the subframes are the same. The only difference is for manual or automatic gearboxes
  2. I had a 2.0 16v with 1.8 16v inlet cam some DIY head work and the obvious fliter/exhaust. Nippy enough! Although with anything you get used to it....
  3. Ah right cool. I had heard it was a complete mare of a job, and most resprays don't involve removing them!
  4. Neil, have you tried a standard ECU? I'm assuming you have. Also are there any faults up on VAG-com?
  5. Are you not having the rear quarter windows removed? I agree with Walesey, one of my all time fav Corrado's too :afro:
  6. Fair play that looks good. 8) Was considering this on my new valver....
  7. Sounds like a dodgey lambda to me! At warm up the lambda will not be running closed loop as it is soo far away from the engine that it requires heating to function correctly. During the warm up cycle the lambda sensor has a heater in it. So once the engine gets above the certain temp the lambda then runs in closed loop at idle. If the lambda sensor isn't warm enough or the the oxygen sensing capability of it is just buggered, then the ECU will see an incorrect signal that it will then adjust the fuel accordingly. Did you say you had a mate with a G60? Might be worth swapping over the lambda sensor and see what happens??
  8. Well, I know that the reason you can't wash a car with a spade is because an Orange is round....not sure about the colour though....What about Blood Oranges, are they red or orange? Isn't a tangerine an Orange? If so why is it not just called a small Orange? P.S. Surprisingly enough I like Ham and Cheese!
  9. Update. I've managed to bully one of my work colleagues into helping me with a Daihatsu 4Trak towing vehicle. I just need to find a trailer! I've called a few companies locally, but they aren't open on a Saturday, so picking up and dropping off on a Friday and Monday respectively is not possible. Is there anyone in the cambridge area who can help??
  10. It wont necessarily be a different map, but will be running warm-up fuel enrichment. In most ECUs, the enrichment is a multiplier applied to the standard map.
  11. Totally agree! I was only saying which speakers I had earlier. Its all about how well they are fitted. If you consider a home audio speaker. They are fitted in sealed/ported enclosures, to provide mid and midbass, and also to remove any unwanted frequencies by controlling how the sound is dispersed behind the driver. You want to try and recreate that enclosure as well as you can in a car. I remember seeing an Alfa Spider that had 5 1/4" components mounted in some custom enclosures, where the enclosure ran from the front kick well corners down along the side of the seat and to the back. It sounded like there was a sub in the car! Two poxy drivers and a 2 channel amp, it sounded awesome!

  13. Was on my way back from Shrewsbury before Xmas and had a similar experience with Lambo Muchialargo (sp?). Coming off the A1/A4 roundabout, and the driver gave it a LOT of beans. What a sound! :D It was dark too, so flame-mungus out the back on gearchange! 8) Driven the way they should be!
  14. What components do you have in the front? Are you using the standard door pods or Audioscape (type) ones? Have you used any sort of sound deadening on the doors? I hada set of Focal 6 inch components and Audioscape pods with sound deadening (Dynamat type) on the outer and inner door skins, with a vent through where the spears fit. Mid and midbass was superb, as it used the door cavity as a (almost) sealed enclosure. WorKed a treat!
  15. Might be worth looking into the 02S boxes out of the new mk5's and Audi's. There are apparently the same physical shape as the 02A. The use one final drive ratio, rather than two used in the 02M boxes and thus I'm pretty sure they have the same gearbox mountings. The only stumbling block will be the driveshaft flanges. I've not managed to find out if they are interchangeable with the Beetle 2.0 ones that mean you can use your existing 02A driveshafts.
  16. The Manual Aero would be my choice. Who is the Saab Dealer by the way?
  17. That should definately be cheshire cheese
  18. That's got one hell of a plenum chamber on the inlet manifold!
  19. Good work waynos! Glad to see a 16vt making progress and nearly finished. Which T28 is that? What was the donnor vehicle? Was ebay your friend? So many questions... Has the conversion cost you much in total?
  20. Jonathan, as far as I'm aware you can get specific bumper/plastics filler that is loads more flexible that normal body filler, but I have no idea what its called, sorry. Nitromorse would most likely melt the buper, so I think sanding is probably the only course of action....
  21. I do have AA relay, but I wouldn't want to risk them not taking it back. or even fixing the bl00dy thing at hte side of the road and saying 'on your way!' Goldie - interesting, let me know what you find out Gav - Fingers crossed on the Wayne front
  22. Interesting choice. My Dad hada 9000 CSE on a P-plate. 2.3 turbo, and it was a superb car. He had it for 3 years and 118,000 miles and the only thing that went wrong was one of the heated seats stopped working. It was pretty damn quick too; A superb 'over-taking' car! 2nd gear was really long!
  23. I have one of these for sale dude! It was bought 2 years ago when I had some issues. It was fooking expensive (£150+) as it's a dealer only part, that is only available with the coil and bracket - £40 plus P&P
  24. Not bad then dude! Didn't know you were getting some LM's......isn't that a little too 'scene' for you?  ;)
