Door handles been replaced yet?
-
Did a search but nothing really seems to quite explain the issue I've got.... Well, thought I'd treat the Badcrumble to a good goin over today, started by removing the seats to do a proper hoover job on her, to find out that my drivers side footwell was soaking wet, front and back. So proceeded to remove all trim and lifted the carpet up. All the sound deadeneing was wet, but there didn't seem to be any evidence that the water was coming from the heater matrix, plus it just smelt like dirty water rather than coolant. Also checked the door membrane, and that seemed fine, and checked the drain hole in the scuttle which also is fine. I then remembered that the bonnet release cable clip had snapped and had pulled the hole cable into the car a bit when it did break. So checked the gromit. When the alarm was fitted the fitter ran the siren cabling through the same gromit so cut it a little in the middle then sealed it all up with silicone sealant. Do you reckon tha tby pulling the whole cable through the silicone sealer would compromise the seal enough to wet all the sound deadening over a period of about 2 months. Your thoughts??

costa-corrado and flusted, no problem. Drop me a PM when you're ready! :D -
And don't forget the lacquer, otherwise folloing several washes the tint comes off!!! Got to re-do mine properly this time. Is it possible to use a can of lacquer with a bit of red or black paint mixed in with it? I know most paint suppliers can supply this, but wanted to know if it would work and if anyones done it?

And me  It's all go now then Yan? Do you have a target time to get the engine in and running?
-
I didn't on mine, just removed existing tweeters and housing and just used some radio strapping bent into a U shape and some self tapping screws to hold them in position underneath the original grills.

These should also work for mk1 and mk2 golfs too -
What would you all suggest as the best way to refurb the dishes on my Borbet A's? The dishes are lacquered, but the salt has started to get in and under it. Should I start with 600 grit wet and dry and move up to 1000grit or 1500grit? Would it be wise to re-lacquer them afterwards?
-
Good job soo far, Neil! I quite like the brushed look :D Need to do mine as the dishes are looking rather buggered.

My mum drives a Bright Red Audi TT 225! And she does drive it reasonably hard! Not bad for a 63 year old! [/EDIT] She'll probably kill me for telling everyone her age

Boost charging tends to play havoc with some alarms systems. I've seen boost charging completely annihilate Clifford and Cobra alarm brains, so that could have happened. Try disconnecting the battery from the car and trickle charge on its own then re-connect and try the key fobs. It the very least the alarm brain is probably out of sync with the key fobs, and they'd require recoding/syncing. Other than that find a Scorpion alarm dealer. They may be able to suggest something else.

Have you tried Brentacre? John is a bit of bloke when it comes to Corrados!

Mate of mine had a jetex rallye (2.5") on his Golf Mk1 G60. Superb exhaust flowed well and sounded just about right. Mild steel though.

Always been a huge fan or the Carmonas. Rolled my arches and I still get the out bit of catching and mine isn't that low. No tyre damage though. Well worth it and it'll look sweeeet
