Dilemma time. Getting the car back tomorrow at last but one of the alarm fobs is not working now so I'm down to one fob. It's a Pirhana alarm from the 90's and I can get the brain sent with the 2 fobs to London to get the non working one reprogrammed or I get the system removed and a new more reliable and better one fitted ?? Any recommendations or thoughts ? Lastly my brake compensator valve and spare front brake shields have arrived.

The rear VW emblem and Corrado just pull off, very carefully. They have tabs on the rear and just pop off.

That's what I think too but I'm going to get at least the rims/lips diamond cut. I think if the face is diamond cut the centre cap will look rubbish whatever you do with it ?? Whereas just the rim cut then the grey face and sprayed grey cap will be fine.

This is a poss idea in how the Speedlines would look if I went for the full face diamond cut.

I'm gutted with garages too and the weather. I'm out of Edinburgh with a double garage and moving back to Edinburgh for a huge mortgage and a single garage, excellent result !! Where are my GTD winter alloys going, spare Speedlines and wives Tiguan winter alloys going :bonk:

Lol Not standard and I'm hoping they will look good and that's why I think I will just end up with the lips/rims diamond cut and with spacers and the lowering look decent. I would have went for staggered Porsche D90's for the car but trying to keep stock with a wee twist.

I'm going to take advice from the shop and use their experience to get the best result. Torn between grey or black, lips diamond cut or full face but with full face the centre cap might be an issue ? Poss will end up with lips diamond cut and grey faces ?? Grey may be better with black calipers behind ??? Decisions decisions ????

They are meant to be good tyres but for some reason I always get Toyo Proxes :shrug: I've got my spare Speedlines going into werestorealloys to get them either black or grey and then the face diamond cut for a different look, then pushed out with some 15mm and 20mm spacers. That's the plan anyway. As long as it's all together for Tartan Tarmac breakfast meeting at the end of March.

They look great and can't wait for the better weather to get out !!

Lastly I will probably get the 1990's alarm system removed and a modern one installed when I have the coin.

So still not got the car as the fob wouldn't code to the car so had to take the spare down and will now get it back on Monday. It had the Mot yesterday with no issues and coolant change. I ordered 2 full fitting kits ( by mistake )for the rear brake compensator valve, so I will sell one set on but knew that I will need a set when the old stuff gets cut off when the valve gets changed later this year. Looking forward to getting the car back, newly refurbished wheels with new rubber back and trial fit for spacer sizes for ordering. Then getting all the arches cleaned down and waxed, wheels and spacers on and get out for some miles.

Cheers and once the better weather comes we need to meet up. I'm going to be heading to Tartan Tarmacs breakfast meet n the last Sunday of every month to get the car out. I'm booked I for a few shows already and prob do a few wee meets from my FB page.

Finally get the car back tomorrow. Think they have had an interesting time with the old bolts etc Just need to get 2 handbrake cable clips hopefully from VW, thanks to Sean above, to finish things off. Mot and coolant change tomorrow. New brake pipe fitted as it wouldn't seal ? or something like that but I will find out tomorrow. Advised to get a new Brake Compensator valve, so ordered one tonight and will get that fitted later. Git to paint the new front calipers and carriers when I get a chance and clean down all the arches at the same time. Going to drop off the spare Speedlines a week on Saturday for colour change and diamond cutting and new tyres. Then hopefully that's it for the season. I will get decent pics of the brakes etc when I'm changing the wheels and painting the bits.

VW Commercial do Synta 5 litres for a tenner at Volksfling Car show in Scotland every year. Total bargain :dance:

They do have different part numbers ? If I don't need them I will sell them for the same as I've paid plus the correct postage. I only bought them to help others if needed but going to double check mine first just in case, when I get my car back.

I just managed to find a pair of refurbed ones from Poland. Not cheap and I don't even know if I need them as my cars still in the garage so can't even look. If I don't need them I will put them up for sale.

There's speaker pods on eBay ending tomorrow.

Cheers Just got a call from the garage, one of the rear brake pipes is an advisory, so just getting it changed now. They are really busy though so won't get it back til next weekend now.
