I bought mine with a few 'extra' mods - all but one were styling - and I'm on the route to taking it back to standard. After that - I'm almost there - theres the long road to getting the car back to top condition (doesn't help being a perfectionist)

and a good 24hr soak of something like wd40 or equivalent (there are much more effective solutions than wd40 out there)...

since when did bananas have spoilers

personally i would go for a 1.8 as the only real benefit from the 2.0L is that they are likely to have less miles and later styling. Seeing as both are still considered as 'old' cars and don't differ much in way of performance, it seems pointless spending 1K more on a 2.0. Miles shouldn't be a concern if its been well looked after Just whatever you buy, make sure its re-salable if you decide to a) get something other than a C if you feel its not for you as Jim mentioned, or b) decide to step up to either a G60 or a VR. Hope that helps :)

Mark Ingle - bought BBS wheels and tyres from him and they were exactly as expected and shown in the initial photos. Kept in touch frequently throughout the couriers very poor service. Top bloke - much appreciated :D :D

was this car not advertised on the forum here a while back?
-
well being a new owner myself I know the costs at the start can be BIG! Its easy to want to make your car perfect again and make it your own. As already mentioned though - £900 - how could you go wrong! Just pay AA their fee and you're grand :)

Hello there mate! Good purchase ;)
-
Welcome mate :D and I'd agree with you!
-
excellent - thanks for that. Yeah that is the cover I'm on about. I'm sending the s/charger to Darren so I'll ask him if he has one :) Scrap yard for me today then

I've tried calling GPC and GSF for the below parts, but no joy. Also been to the stealers but they were full 100% willing to rape my wallet... - solenoids for both doors and fuel flap - alternator plastic belt cover - oil dipstick tube (not the dip, but the tube the dip does down into...) - rear number plate surround if anyone can point me in a cheaper direction please do!
-
don't worry yourself about selling it on - just enjoy driving the damn thing!!!

I had the windscreen done on my old car by Autoglass and they made a right mess of it. Leaked the first time...badly. Took it back being furious and then they ended up puttying round the screen at the corners to cover it up and cracked the scuttle shield. I suppose that can be the service to expect from insurance jobs. I personally wouldn't go back so its worth checking out from people what place close by does a reputable job.

unless I've been heavily mistaken, they are RMs. I've just paid £200 for 4 with Pirelli P5000s, £40 for postage. Though I have seen some go for about 250. Ebay always to seems to have some on (including ones selling in germany). Hope that helps :)

cheers Andy, if you had the part numbers that'd be superb :)

and for the benefit of others, heres the steps that I followed (along with G-man's advice ;)): http://www.corradoclubmd.com/technical/ ... adder.html

once again, thanks for the help fellas. should have it sorted later today without any issues. Andy, you're blatently a wasted talent  I want to replace all the bolts I've removed as quite a few of them look pretty worn. Do you know whether the o-ring is something I can get elsewhere other than a dealers?

got wd40 out already - hopefully that should do it

damn, not more swearing ;) Thanks for the input all. Hopefully the charger will be fine then. Agree on the dipstick tube - tbh all the engine bay needs a damn good clean, but a weekend will only allow so much work at one time. Steve, to get the serpentine belt off, I slid the tensioner off as suggested by the steps I followed... though I know it could have stayed on had I of had some better tools at hand. Darren, guess it'll be Tuesday before the charger gets sent down now! Thanks for the help so far though :)

2 questions here: Removing charger: Started this today and was getting through it quickly (for me ;)), but due to a few lengthy issues with rounded rusty bolts and a stubborn silencer box I didn't get it all finished before the sun went down. Got everything removed bar the hex bolts holding the charger in place. I've taken a few photos and just for clarification can someone please re-post them marking out what I need to remove to get the damn thing out. Positive I know which ones but always best to get advice from someone whos an old hand at it. Charger Seals: After taking the outlet pipe off and the pipe joining to the airbox, I've noticed some oil inside and around the openings into the charger. I assume this means the seals are either going or have already gone? The charger is going to be serviced this week (as soon as i get daylight to remove it) but does this mean there could be some serious damage done? Cheers for any help and advice :)

Can any of you tell me where you have had your supercharger rebuilt? Am needing to get this looked at before Xmas... Thanks
