  1. i wouldn't pay that - would far rather get a specialist to do it and pay less. Remember a big collection of receipts help with any sale - more so in my opinion that just the annual stamp. again, just my opinion.
  2. i think it would only take a short while to get over the loss and soon you'll forget about it and look to something else... If I was in your position, I would bite my tongue, try to boldly look ahead and take the money... As always, just my opinion

  5. just found the scottish garages thread - thats that problem sorted. any ideas on the seat handle?
  6. Took the C in to get all my mounts changed yesterday - they told me they only managed the front and gbox one and then charged me £105!!! Then I step into the car and notice immediately the driver seat handle has been snapped off, the rubber seal on the sill has been torn a bit and the rear driver side door card was sitting out too!! I mean FS!!! Are the seat handles purchasable from VW - or is it a case of someone here helping me out? And I wonder why I am so anxious to leave my car in the hands of a garage... :roll: Where do Scottish owners here take their car?

  10. Insane_VR6 - you are a true gentleman - thank you very much!! help appreciated. i got there in the end - the bolts were extremely hard to get shifting! I agree its the access that makes all these jobs difficult. Now I know the bolt that Henny was referring to in an earlier post :) This would make a good How-to article for the forum... Thanks again guys for your help!

  12. almost following you here :) is it the front or rear pulley that has the bolt in the center? Understand its the opposite pulley which I shall use the screwdriver as a guide into its rightful place? I just found the belt was too tight to allow any movement past a certain point - hope this works!
  13. Thought I had this one worked out... I have removed the pulley and have a new Gates belt from VW (Gates 9.5 x 663mm). Already loosened off the tensioner but cant for the life of me seen to get the pulley back into place with the belt around it - i.e. it wont pull far enough over for me to refit. Do I also need to undo the bolts for the pump? I though removing the pulley would be enough... I've attached 2 pictures :) thanks for help in advance - I need to do this tomorrow morning so the garage can fit my new mounts!!!

  19. Andy - where are you getting the other 2 mounts from? GSF or VW?
  20. if the standard rear and gbox mounts will do then i'd happily go for them to cut down on costs! VT mounts are just too expensive. Curious about the Turn2 mounts for either of the rears though - read a Turn2 gbox mount and a VW standard rear is a good combo. Any experience of this with a G60? Thanks for the comments so far :)

Ok, I have been reading frantically about this lately - but all of the info I have found is quite dated and so felt it worth posting again to get an updated idea of what current mounts are good. My front engine mount is knackered and so I am replacing it with an EIP solid front engine mount. I'm not 100% sure as to whether this exactly what I'm after or whether I want something with a little give, but am willing to give it some time to see. At the same time I would like to replace the rear and gbox mounts. For a G60, what are good mounts to go for? I have read countless times that VR6 owners are going for a combination of VT and Turn2 mounts - but haven't found the same consistency with G60 owners - any suggestions please??? Any referrals to previous posts/products would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks and again sorry if I'm dragging up old questions - I have tried!!!

    lol yeah theres always one - and often the one that you a) have to undo without being able to see and b) is a B to get off :lol:

    henny - yep should have mentioned that too :) Again, Jim - the PAS belt comes off without any worries. Go get your hands dirty!
