yeah according to vw it is still availiable but when RAC windsreens wrecked my bonnet i ordered the foam and when it arrived it was for the new style bonnet, after a few phone calls to vw they confirmed that the stuff for the old style bonnet was discontinued, so they only supply the new style whatever you order.

I removed mine as it was tatty and is no longer availiable for the early style bonnet, and i cant say i noticed any difference in the sound, but then i'm not outside the car when i am driving it

I did quite a bit of work in saudi last year fitting tracking and security equipment to vehicles. I have never felt heat like it, khamis in the north wasnt too bad, it was a bit like the uk in the summer but Dhahran reached 52c in the shade at one point and we had to work outside in that heat. I visited a few places including Bahrain, Dhahran, Khamis, Taif, Tabuk and Riyadh so I would definately agree air-con is a must over there. although i did see a mint condition early beetle on one of the BAE compounds while i was there.

to protect my weitecs i just brushed waxoyl over all of the exposed bits and also made sure i got plenty behind the adjuster ring, now all i have to do is wipe them with a soft cloth and they are spotless again and the adjuster ring still turns by hand so i dont even need to carry the spanner just the locking allen key, the waxoyl hasnt worn off anywhere either so it copes with the crappy weather fine.

the raceland de-cat pipes on ebay are only for vr's or 16v's the 16v one is the shortest the vr one is a bit longer but its still slightly shorter than a g60 one would need to be, i bought a vr one at dubfreeze and had to get a short section of pipe from demon tweeks to fill the gap, luckily they had some stainless pipe spare and flared one end for me for free so it was simple to clamp it on.

unfortunately its only a matter of time before this sort of thing starts happening more at v-dub shows, the number of chavs that are now choosing VW's is on the up, mostly due to the way Lax Power magazine has gone all "EURO LOOK" even featuring old articles from PVW.

you could try asking one of those windscreen repair places, i have seen them repair chips the size of a 20p coin and you cannot see the repair at all, should be a damn site cheaper than buying a new light.

so what do i need to order then if i want the front and rear TT wishbone bushes?
-
cheers will give them a try, its just the audi dealer is round the corner from where i work so i could have nipped in there at lunchtime.
-
will the part numbers for the bushes from the tt mentioned on the vortex thread be the same for the uk? front of front wishbone: 357407182 rear of front wishbone: 8N0407181 i will order a set from the audi dealer down the road if they are as mine have started to wear out.

i got away with it for ages on my mr2, i have seen plenty of number plates recently that are a printed reflective vinyl stuck on top of a non see through plastic plate. they are more tamperproof than plastic plates as the vinyl stretches and distorts when removed, as long as the spacing is correct and the plate is the legal size you should get away with it. i think 3M make the reflective vinyl.
-
yeah you should be fine, its a common upgrade for people to do when they fit big audio installs, the alternator has got a regulator built in so it wont over charge anyway.

How did you get all the gubbings out the tank, my Halfords blue one has self destructed and left bits everywhere inside the tank. Easy enough to get the spring etc back out but not the particals of plastic ah mine wasnt quite that bad, it just broke loose from the cap and left the black pressure relief valve section in the bottle which i managed to get out by drilling a self tapping screw into it and pulling it out. if there are loads of bits in the bottle it would probably be best to remove the bottle and shake all the bits out or buy a new bottle from the stealers, not much more than a tenner last time i checked and a nice new bottle looks good in the engine bay.

you actually need non silicone, non ptfe lube for the charger, i know it says ptfe on the G werks site but it is actually a ptfe alternative that can be safely burned off by the engine, the problem with ptfe and silicone is if some gets into the engine and gets burned it can coat the lambda sensor preventing it from operating correctly, the problem of silicone contamination was highlighted recently with the dodgy fuel that was being sold down south.

how much force is reqired to turn the adjusters and how much of a range of movement do they require?

How many Corrado's were sold in the uk???.......
coolrado replied to Balti Pie's topic in General Car Chat
I am pretty sure that they only have an obligation to provide you with information relating to yourself, not other people or property, so its unlikely the DVLA will share the information freely i'm pretty sure a friend of my father still works at the DVLA so i will ask around. -
i would take it as it is for 1800, front pads are an easy job, tyre will cost 35-40 for a decent one (although its always worth replacing a pair to maintain the handling) and rear brakes can most probably be sorted by a bit of cleaning and wiggling. so you would probably save around 100 quid which you could spend on the car elsewhere. edit: ah if the tyres are 17's it may be worth letting him sort it then.

The odd thing about that was that there where more particulates from soot/ash in the atmosphere and they actually acted as a shield against the suns rays, almost like a second ozone layer and actually slightly counteracted global warming, a similar thing was being discussed recently about the reduction in diesel particulates having a NEGATIVE effect on global warming. There is evidence from various sources including Dendroecology and varve chronology that shows drops in global temperatures following volcanic erruptions and meteorite impacts which have released large amounts of particulates into the atmosphere.

last 2 sets of greenstuff i had failed soon after fitting, the 1st set went all crumbly and fell to pieces which i luckily noticed when i had a puncture and found particles of the pad around the inside of the wheel and with the second set one of the pads de-laminated leaving me with almost no brakes as the friction material came away from its backing while i was braking. i have recently driven a corrado with black diamond disks and pads and was very impressed by it. was there a known problem with earlier greenstuff pads?

a mate of mine bought a mk2 gti which the previous owner had used a very strong mix of blue coolant in, all of the coolant hoses where perished and the plastic flanges where all brittle and bleached, it may have just been the age of the car but i have seen mk2's that have allways used G12 or G11 with far more miles on which are still running original hoses and flanges with no such problems.
-
shouldnt it be pink water? vw engines dont really like the normal ethelene glycol blue coolant, you should really only use the proper vw G12+ or an organic acid type coolant approved for use in vw/audi engines which are usually always pink.
-
i have heard a few people describing the later mk1 cabbies as mk2's as they didnt make a mk2 golf cabby.

not too sure if you can actually repair the shiny top layer of the leather, but you could dye the worn section so its less obvious and then treat the leather so its protected better.
-
PDI=Pre Delivery Inspection, so its what the dealers supposedly use on new cars before they are handed over to the customer.
-
yeah but as i mentioned before ^^^^^ they are crap  definately worth buying a genuine one as the halfrauds ones are badly moulded and made from dried out weetabix
