  1. Think that this was from the later model T4 Transporter van as mine also has 5 slats ? Will post pics when I have the car back  Cheers
  2. Hey all, Does anyone have any info or experience of running or building a new 24V supercharged V6 lump (same as V6 4Motion from Mk4 Golf and Passat B5) in a Corrado or in other cars (FWD only), wouldn't this make more power and be better all round in many ways ? Cheers
  3. All you have to do is change the hubs for 5 x 100 PCD VR6 ones or Mk4 ones and that's the problem solved as you then have the necessary PCD to fit the newer Audi wheels and a lot of other wheels as well, Cheers
  4. I believe that TSR offer these conversions i.e. substitute the G60 charger for an Eaton charger that is used on the Merc Kompressor models. IIRC they were charging about £2000 for the complete conversion fitted with all brackets and pipework etc. Cheers
  5. Hey all, Does anyone know if a steering wheel hub adapter from a Corrado will also fit a MK3 GTi ?? Cheers BigTartanTimmeh
  6. Get a new VW roundel rear badge from the dealer, only about a tenner and looks better in chrome finish rather than sprayed silver mate. Cheers and good luck with the car, looks great !
  7. This one ? http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight= Yes I have read it mate, he measured it by eye using the speedo, real figure will be down by 10-15 %, so prob doing 150 MPH max, Not wanting to argue about this really tho', suffice to say both cars are quick by anyone's standards, Cheers
  8. I think that 90 BHP improvement over standard is attainable with cams, throttle body and proper ECU remap (esp. if VXRacing are involved) and never heard of a Corrado doing or being able to do 160+mph ? Have also heard that these cars are to be used by some constabularies as fast pursuit vehicles and some will be or have been fitted with the same Chevrolet-sourced 5.7L V8 engine as used in the current Vauxhall Monaro VXR [329BHP] (in the same way as the 4 Lotus Carltons purchased by the Home Office to be used by Nottinghamshire Constabulary back in the day-my mate is a traffic officer and he drove them) Cheers
  9. As I said already, he was ON-DUTY at the time and it was recorded that he did 84 mph in a 30 mph zone at one point during his, quite frankly, ridiculous antics. 30 mph over the speed limit for any area is usually an automatic ban as it's classed as reckless or dangerous driving (the courts usually push for dangerous as it's a more serious charge and carries a harsher penalty) Would have to be a pretty impressive VR6 of any sort to pull away from this Vectra (has 300 BHP+) Cheers
  10. He was doing 84 mph in a 30 mph zone at one point during this "learning drive" and even if the M54 was clear at 4am there is still NO EXCUSE for driving at this sort of speed. He was ON DUTY at the time of the incident and he was NOT involved in any pursuit or responding to any emergency call of any sort, the adrenaline probably just took over and a little voice in his head probably said to him, "Now then, there's no-one around, let's see what this baby can really do" The brakes fitted to the Vectra GSi he was driving are not uprated other than having heavier duty pads fitted. Cheers
  11. Hey all, Still looking for a pic (or a few if possible) of Corrado drivers side (offside) wings that have been fitted with VW T4 Transporter wing vent ? Has anyone on the forum got one fitted to their C or have a pic of one they could post or email me ? Cheers
  12. There is absolutely NO WAY he was justified to drive at that speed on the public highway (even on motorway M42 / M6 where he was clocked by the vehicles own video recording) whilst quote, "getting used to his new traffic patrol vehicle". Another good one I heard was the chief constable of the constabulary where the officer comes from saying "it's a double edged sword, if the public want us to be able to respond in an emergency where their livelihoods are at risk, they have to be prepared for the police to drive at this sort of speed". Yeah right, how many times have we all heard about instances where it took the police ages, sometimes even hours or more etc. to repsond to a call where peoples property / businesses / relatives / friends etc. were being put at risk ? I think that particular police officers actions were very reckless, dangerous and stupid, e.g at 160 mph it takes over a quarter of a mile to slow to zero by the most experienced of drivers. How does he think he would have been able to safely stop if there was a collision up ahead, debris on road, peolple crossing or roadworks etc. ? This recent judgement only serves to reinforce the opinions of recent times that state that and also remind motorists / the general public that police officers always think they are "above the law". Ok, rant over. By the way, have been told that the police traffic vehicle he was driving at the time of this incident was a modifed Vauxhall Vecta 3.2L V6 GSi "breathed on" by VXRacing with reground cams, enlarged throttle-body and specially remapped ECU etc. (and 155 mph speed restrictor removed-rumour is they have top speed in excess of 170+ mph-I have a good source BTW) Cheers
  13. If it comes as part of the plug shouldn't a new one you buy come with this clip already included (have bought one already) ? I have asked this same question to both GSF and main dealer and they said there was no other part associated with / sold with the CO pot sensor unit, Cheers
  14. Yes I know that the green metal clips have been replaced by the black plastic ones that hold the sensor into the boost pipe. What I am saying is that WITHOUT a part number I can't GET these from the dealer / GSF etc. When I spoke to them last week, they hadn't got a clue what I was on about, hence I need to get the part number to order them etc. The other clip I am talking about, is the much thinner gauge metal wire-type clip that attaches the connecting wire with the male multiplug into the female coupling within the body of the actual CO pot sensor. These are neither green or black plastic but are a different type clip altogether. Hope this desribes what I need now, Cheers
  15. So does anyone have a part number to get these from the dealer and also where do I get the one that holds the multiplug connector into the actual sensor from (and part number) ? Cheers
  16. Yes, They are electric, difficult to get to fit properly and are pretty expensive as far as I can remember, Oh and it's "Porsche" Cheers
  17. Hey all, I need to find a couple of metal clips for the CO pot sensor which sits in the boost pipe of a G60 between the throttle body and intercooler as have lost them when I removed the dead sensor from mate's car. The part number of the sensor is: 037 906 040B The clips I need are the two metal spring clips, one holds the multiplug onto the sensor body itself and the other larger, heavier duty one secures the sensor into the boost pipe through the plastic flange on the side of the pipe. Does anyone have a part number for these or have a few spare ones lying around I could have, as the dealers don't have a clue what I am on about ?? Cheers
  18. Hey there, Have attached a pic of 16VG60's engine bay from a while back, hope this helps, Cheers
  19. No point mate, just for one pipe, think I have found a solution tho' Cheers
  20. Just found this topic: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... inal+drive phatvr6 says they are about £200 new from main dealer ?? Any further info ? Cheers
  21. Hey all, I am desperately trying to contact forum member s7orm in relation to a part I bought from him a while back but have since found out it was never delivered to Stealth Racing as arranged back in February. The only info I have is he is from Birmingham and his name is Hamid Ayub ? Thanks
  22. Hey all, Just wondering how much this would be worth as have been told it won't really be that suitable for my engine, so may end up selling it on, Cheers
  23. She went into the bodyshop on Monday, Watch this space ! Cheers
