  1. Hence why my thread was posted in the general car chat section, which is for posts not specifically related to Corrado's :D
  2. I see, can we start talking again about MK4 Golf V6 4MOTION's maybe ? Cheers
  3. Didn't ask for opinions on whether he would make 250bhp from the mods he has planned IF he buys it, just wanted information and opinions on the CAR ITSELF in terms of performance, handling, reliability, problems etc. Sorry if I didn't make it clear in the title....(however these are projected figures and similar figures have been achieved already on THESE cars with THESE mods) Cheers
  4. If he gets it will be getting APR or AMD remapped, flowed throttle body, induction kit and Milltek exhaust, should see about 250 BHP I'd imagine with these mods. Then should be slammed on H&R coilovers and either Anniversary / R32 bodykit and lights :D
  5. Hi all, A mate of mine is seriously thinking about buying one of these instead of a Mk4 1.8T Anniversary as they are too difficult to get hold of for sensible money. He has seen a few MK4 Golf 4MOTIONS around for £8000-£10000, fully loaded with leather heated seats, traction control, xenons, 16" wheels and 204bhp as standard. Any thoughts or opinions please ? In fact has anyone on here ownded or driven one ? Cheers
  6. Bought the Inpro angel eyes from JMR and seem to remember something bout manual beam adjusters required or something? Have also got some new uprated ice-blue H7 bulbs for them. What's this about being for LHD cars ? Surely I wouldn't have been sold them if they only fit LHD cars ??? Got me panicking now :?
  7. Hey all, Seem to remember there was a fitting guide somewhere on here for Inpro angel eye headlights ? Apart from headlight bulbs is there anything else one would need to get to fit these in place of the original headlights ? Cheers
  8. It's really a bodyshop onloy job mate unless you want it to end up looking crap IMO. Quite difficult to do and get it looking good. Sue it must have been done on a white one somewhere but don't have any pics although have plenty of pics of non-white C's with it done mate, Cheers
  9. What sort of figures can be had out of the 150 BHP 20VT engine then WITHOUT going for KKK-KO3S / KKK-KO4 or hybrid turbo i.e. just using remap, CAI, front mount intercooler etc. ? Cheers
  10. Does anyone that works for VW or a passat owner or anyone for that matter know if VW put the 180 BHP 20VT AGQ engine into the later-model Passat's ? Just mulling things over at the moment. Cheers
  11. Yeah, it was lucky that the bodywork wasnt damaged when whoever ripped of my new plinth, german surround and plate and true valvecaps and chrome rear badges are more easily stolen, as I know to MY cost but then that's that you were getting at anyway slimbo ? It's the fact that the trim tape / sticky pads wont work anyway as where I want to mount the plate doesn't have a flat surface or even enough area to stick a flat bit of tape / pad onto. Suppose I could make up a few small brackets out of alloy or buy some small brackets from diy store and stick pads to them to stick to the plate and then bolt the brackets to holes underneath / on top of the plate recess. Cheers
  12. Thanks for the advice but am looking for something a little more secure than trim tape (to avoid theft as well as avoiding it coming off at speed), aside from the fact that using tape will not work where I want to mount the plate as the surface isn't flat etc. Are they not some sort of brackets that can be used ? Pretty sure some folk on here have used this method, seem to remeber the relevant plates being fixed to the bumper off-centre ? Cheers
  13. Well B19 VWC should be out of the bodyshop by this Friday, having been in there since the 9th of May  Watch this space for new pics folks..... Cheers
  14. Hey all, Trying to find a method of mounting my front german plate to my C without drilling holes preferably and not using the standard recess (no longer there anyway). Not sure whether to put it at side or in middle of lower splitter or what to mount it with. Rather like this though see below, don't know how they managed it tho. Cheers
  15. Hi, The stud pattern is the same, 4 x 100PCD but standard Vauxhall offset is ET49 and VW is ET25 or 38. Centre bore fitment on VW is 57.1 mm wheras Vauxhall centre bore is 56.5 mm. You would need to get the centre bore changed by having the wheel centre bores machined on CNC / lathe etc by a professional. I had this done to get some MiM Vauxhall fitment alloys onto my old G60 but also has problems with inside of wheels fouling on the G60 calipers so I used 5mm spacers and no probs then. Cheers
  16. jonocos, Slightly OT here but car looks good mate, what is it G60 / 16V / VR6 ? Looks like MiM 1100 alloys on her too with the locking centre caps, had a set of them a while back too and haven't ever seen another set. Any more photo's ? Cheers BigTartanmTimmeh
  17. Funny, ha ha :? I AM keeping it CIVIL, just didn't expect SOME of the responses to this thread ! However, I can't speak for others. Cheers
  18. Yes, value is irrelevent (only £30 for caps and badge), and yes it's the principal, but for someone to start a stupid thread just to try and wind me up and take a cheap shot is pretty sad...... And no, think I will leave it somehow, I wouldn't want to touch any MK3 with a bargepole thanks. Oh and Rossco, think you'll find that seeing as you can't get these chrome Corrado badges anywhere in Europe anymore and haven't been able to for nearly a year now that would make them pretty rare ? Just as well I have a couple of spares.
  19. Yes, very amusing topic :? , pity that some people make jokes about other peoples losses, how would they like it if someone nicked bits of their car ?
  20. Some thieving git(s) decided to nick my rear chrome-effect Corrado badge (yes, it was the last one available in Europe that I bought last year :( and Porsche logo'd alloy valve caps last nite off the car when it was parked up outside the bodyshop. Haven't people got better things to do with their lives ?? Think I have a spare silver badge but am tempted just to get the resulting holesleft filled and smoothed, remove the pegs from the other one and keep as a spare. If I need to use it I can just use some sticky foam to attach to the rear ? Oh the joys !
  21. You can get ARRCraib Transport to do it but they charge around £300 AFAIK. However, got my new Corrado from Northampton area and drove back up north, left at 4.00pm arrived in Aberdeen at 12.00am and cost £65 in fuel :D Do it, nice. Cheers
  22. Yeah, wouldn't mind an Octavia vRS but can't afford even the lower priced early examples which are still making £7000 plus :( Mk4 Golf GT Tdi wouldn't be bad either but again £6000 at least. Can't think of any other comparable VAG model that is as good value as B5 early 1.8T Passat etc. for the performance, build quality, reliability etc Cheers
  23. Hey all, Just thinking about maybe buying a second car for my daily driver. Have seen several Passat B5 1.8T Sport SE'sand Passat V6 4Motion's, FSH, fully loaded with leather etc. for around £3500-£4500 for V / W reg (Did VW put the 180BHP 1.8T from the later TT's in the later Passat's, if so even better !). Yes, they have higher mileage but motorway cars and full main dealer SH so well looked after etc. Also considering Audi A3 / Audi A4 1.8T or A4 2.8 V6. What are people's opinions on these choices ? Reckon that the Passat would look really nice decked sitting on big polished Merc or Audi rims and could be APR chipped or similar for not a lot to get it to 200-210BHP (if the 150BHP 20VT engine) or 230BHP ish with the 180BHP 20VT engine. But the V6 4Motion also sounds really nice with 204BHP as standard :D Cheers
