  2. Morning, how u doin' Welcome to the forum, and greetings from bonnie Scotland ! :D Cheers, BigEastSideTartanTimmeh
  3. Yeah cheers guys for the comments. I bought the G60 made up badge by indeed buying Mk4 Golf, 1.6 and 2.0 badges. The Corrado one was made from two Seat Cordoba badges and the Kompressor one, as we all know, comes from Merc C / E-class models. Not sure whether to put them on or not. I might be persuaded to sell the G60 one tho' for a good price, as it would save you from buying three sets of badges gibber ? (think it cost me £18ish for the three ), Cheers, BigEastSideTartanTimmeh
  4. Hey all, I would appreciate some opinions on these new-style badges I have got hold of for my C, Cheers, BigEastSideTartanTimmeh

  6. Yeah something like that but doesn't need to be that moulded, seems a bit steep at £180 thought and that's with a group buy. Fair enough, they are good quality but just can't justify that amount just for a sub enclosure. It was more something like this I was after, not sure what make or if it was custom made tho' ? Cheers, BigEastSideTimmehG60
  7. Hey all, I am thinking about getting a custom-built subwoofer enclosure and amp rack made up to fit into the boot space of my C whilst keeping it clutter free and able to carry some luggage etc.. I am sure that some members have these already in their C's. I think the guy with the burgundy metallic VR6, (Slot ?), has these in his C ? Can anyone shed any light on where I kight get these made up, can't really be bothered to build it myself at the moment, Cheers, BigEastSideTimmehG60
  8. Hey retrodal, Do you have a link to this advert on eBAY for the retrim, have had a good search but can't find it. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  9. Just seen the auction, cheeky git, yeah, would have been nice to have asked or AT LEAST blanked out my reg plate :x BigEastSideVWG60
  10. Hey all, I am having issues with my passenger interior door handle. Suddenly, it has decided that the door will only open from the outside and not inside where the handle feels ok but only moves kninda half-way out when you pull it to open the door from inside the car. Has anyone else expereiced this as it's kinda annoying having to get out of car to let passengers out ! Any ideas on what the problem is ? Don't think it's an outer door handle issue as it feels fine and works perfect from the outside. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  11. Hey all, I am trying to remove the handbrake handle form my C but the bugger won't move, hiw do you get the damn things off ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  12. AFAIK, it was the Mk3 GTi 16V box that was discussed a few times in a few different threads on this forum as a direct replacement for the G60 O2A box. Don't know about the 2.0 8V box though. Isn't the engine in the Passat GT 2.0 16V the same as in the Mk3 Golf GTi 16V i.e. the ABF tall-block ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60

    16 x 9's ???

Hi, I used to run 9 x 16" Borbet B's with ET15 offset and NO spacers (god I REALLY miss those wheels  ....,) on my G60 and I had Koni TA's all round. The arches were rolled all round and the only real problems were the tyres getting scuffed on the rears. However, as has been mentioned this can be cured by using a spacer and fitting coilovers, then you should have no problems. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  14. Hey all, As some of you may know I work for a large car rental company, and the Ford Focus is one of our most popular vehicles on our rental fleet (albeit most of them 1.6 or 1.8 Zetecs but we also have some TDCi's and when working for my last company we had a few Focus ST170's !) because they are consistently good cars, reliable and cheap to repair (not that they need anything really as all are less than 6 months old). However, IMO they don't drive nearly as well as a MK4 Golf / Seat Leon etc. but there is nothing wrong with them at all. The Mondeo TDCi's are very smooth and have a real torquey kick when the turbo comes in at 2500 rpm but one common complaint is that they stall VERY easily (need to really keep up rev's when pulling away). The ST's are nice to drive and reasonably quick but need to be revved all the time. So there was a couple of nice ones, the Focus RS and ST170's are both quite respectable "hot" cars, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60 dinkus: double post removed
  15. Phat if you can get a rool or two for me that would be great. How mnay rolls needed to do the rear tailgate and side windows ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  16. Yeah, I agree with PhatVR6, am liking this, thing it looks classy and not too bling whilst helping security :D Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  17. Yeahm, just looks like the rear windows have extra reflective properties that the front's on this car don't ? Yeah spoke to my local Autoglass who said that if I provided the film they would do the rear windows and tailgate (only ones allowed to be after-market tinted now by law) for £90 inc. VAT or using thier light-smoke fims for £130 inc VAT. The picture entitled tint-new7.gif is an actual film available from a performance parts supplier down south somewhere, cost per roll (enough to do rear windows and tailgate glass) is £44ish inc VAT / delivery, which thought wasn't bad ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  18. Hey all, I am considering getting chromolux-style blue-green half-reflective tints for the rear windows and tailgate glass in my C. Trouble is, not sure where to get the stuff from and what it would actually look like. I have attached a picture of a members car (I think ?) that has similar style tints ? Or maybe I'm just seeing a bad reflection but it looks like this blue G60 has these style of tints on the rear windows. Would be interested to find out if the car belongs to a member, are the windows tinted, and if so who by / what film and how much ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  19. Got a link handy for this mate, can't seem to find it. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  20. Anyone shed any light on this one ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  21. Hey all, Just wondering how feasible it would be to convert a 1998 VW Passat 1.8T 20V AGU engine code to 4WD ? Is this possible using Passat 4Motion bits or even Golf 4Motionbits ? What bits would all be required to do this e.g gearbox, driveshafts, ECU, axles etc? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  22. My figures a good while back now were: 245.5 BHP 200.5 ft LBS but that was before I had another few mods added, and the engine is still not finished yet, watch this space...., :D Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  23. I'm not confusing both of you, if you look at the username I siad to watch out for,it says "shawnsg60" not "shaung60", Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  24. Well, other than sending cash by registered post or paying by PayPal, Postal Order or other money trasfer facility you are stuck, and anyway's, which ever payment method you use you are ALWAYS going to to have to TRUST the seller of the item you have bought to send the item when they have received your payment. What other choice do we all have ? Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
  25. You could always PM dubster82 on here as I think he attempted doing this a while back or at least something similar, Cheers, BigEastSideVWG60
