Have you looked at the fuse? It's above the other fuses set on its own between 2 relays. -
I had the same problem on my vr and found an easy solution. Unscrew the pin to the top of the door slightly as it stuck on the door frame. I actually cut a few mm's off the bottom of the pin and it now works on the inside and doesn't deadlock when I try to unlock the door.

I got a TEMIC one from stealers 2 weeks ago for £172 inc VAT (mention CCGB 10% discount) GSF wanted £140 for a BERU one. When I changed it I saw that last time it had been replaced it had been tightened too much and cracked the plastic cover nearly all the way round, so be careful with that spanner!

am going to try peter ellam in huddersfield (behind MFI) he's an independant but have had very good reports about him. I've been told he is a well respected VW mechanic from people in the trade

wasn't richard alexanders in huddersfield was it dan? they tried to overcharge me by £100, quoted work needed doing to the tune of £1500, then lost my 9 year VW service history  Wrote a letter to complain to them and VWUK, took 6 months for Alexanders to reply, got offered a free winter check as compo, told them to F*** off!!!!

Some questions from a newbie here, 1- where is the sensor? 2-How do you know if it's knacked? 3-Is there a way of testing it? 4-Is it a cheap and easy job to replace? I know this might make me seem thick  but I've not been under the bonnet too much

Saw 2 today in Huddersfield  1 blue/black in multi storey car park, might have been JBOB, second was a red G60(?) parked at bottom of Northumblerland street. Looked standard exept for wheels. Both of these were at about 2.45 today

there are 2 screws on top of headlight and 1visible through a hole on slam panel. undo these and light unit will come out. Or you could move air filter box to get to the opening at the rear of light and just change bulbs
-
Mine seems to be the same as yours reggit only wet in drizzle or light rain. When I've used pressure washer it's been bone dry
