  1. Aye i buggered up first too, i went out and bought a normal R32 then got a text from dubster82 saying about the bi-turbo beast. Turn of station, delete save game, try again :)
  2. Tidy, cheers jimbo. im gonna be one minted bloke now :)
  3. Before posting up saying im gonna get a new alternator i bought a bosch silver top battery and it made no difference the alternator is dead, also the battery light doesnt come on on start up so im pretty convinced its see numerous better days
  4. Turns out the alternator is guffed, piss, 70 notes plus VAT for me then
  5. Yeh ive got etka, mines a J reg G60 mate
  6. Brand new thats about right mate, there silly expensive things. On another note Gavin i would be most interested if those power steering pipes turn out to be the same as my G60 im pretty sure that they are as it has the same resevoir placement and stuff, let me know by pm if they are the ones and how much you would be after
  7. Check your vacum pipe from the fuel pressure regulator to the inlet manifold, mine was buggered and it was reekin out smoke
  8. Right just back from uni and i put the battery on charge this morning so its fully charged up, checked all the wires and there all ok. Put the battery back in and she fired up fine but i checked the voltage accross it and it had lost 0.5 volts already. Also no light came up on the dash when i fired her up does this sound like a dead battery??
  9. What output do you get across the battery with lights, HRW, fan etc all running?, is it a lot lower than with them off? (engine running of course), I've changed my brush pack but it looks like either the windings or the diodes/rectifier in the base of the alternator(not changeable) are rubber ducked as the brush pack makes no difference, so a new alternator is needed. I'm basically not getting full charging from the alternator even though it's enough to prevent the red dash light coming on, I have a voltmeter fitted and you can see the problem from there as it wobbles around depending on load and drops below 12V if I haven't had the battery on trickle charge over night, the battery is a whopping great Diesel Hella one and less than 12 months old. David. I havent checked this mate, but im assuming the alternator is charging fine as when i fire the car up the voltage accross is a steady 13.8 volts and it doesnt move, its only when i take thecar for a burl that it starts getting silly, would it make sense that way and saying that the battery is on its way??
  10. might be worth a go loon, cheers. I fired it up today and it was putting a solid 14 volts accross the battery, went for a wee burl and then the light came on again and the voltage accross had gone down to about 9.8. Battery has been the same one since i bought the car 2 years ago and seeing as ive just changed the voltage regulator im guessing the alternator is back to full steam again, there no plat or weird noises coming from it. Rekon a new battery then guys yeh??
  11. Right problem appeared today again after my work, but it only appeared when i nailed the car and when i do that the car bounces around (torque and 9x16's ace!) then the lights came on, the dash lights went dim and the windows slowed down, so i nailed it again and it flickered and went off and everything was restored, dash was back to full brightness and the windows back to normal speed so in thinking theres a dodgy connection but my question is with which wires ( henny- looks like you may have been right) would it be the big thick one or the wee blue one?? Cheers Guys
  12. Wiring was fine, 13.52 + VAT = a happy G60. Yeh the regulator appears to have done the required job, cheers guys

    8 Valver Induction

It wont be K-jet mate, only rads to retain that were the 16v's
  14. My probe sounds the same as yours mate, 2 black and white wires are the probe heating wires, the other wire is the signal wire. best bet is to get a new probe and splice your old plug onto the end of it. Did it on mine and it appears to be working
  15. Pretty sure its the regulator, when i just poodle around the lights dimly comes on and last night the dash lights got a bit dull but when i gave it serious licks (im lovin my new G60) the light went off and the dash lights went uber bright again. This sound right peeps??
  16. Is the voltage regulator the bit on the back of it that screws out with 2 phillips head screws??
  17. Just as i was firing home i looked at the dash and noticed the battery light was very dimly on, really dim. I accelerated and it went out but when i went back to a slower speed it appeared again. Car drove fine all the way home and everything was working, any ideas. Read some previous threads about brushes and voltage regulators anyone rekon ill need to order some of these. Its a 90' G60 by the way
  18. Im a geek, it all works fine but one of the jets has a crack in it, scrappies for me tomoorow. Cheers Guys
  19. My washer jets have stopped workin, any common faults here like fuses etc... or am i gonna fire in with the multi-meter

    16 x 9's ???

Ive got the very same wheels mate, im runnin 215/40/16's and the dont rub cos ive wound the coils up a bit and ive had absolutely no archwork although im pretty keen to get the rears rolled but ive got the front pretty humped and it doesnt rub there. Oh and your deffo gonna need coilovers mate, theres no way they will bolt to the hub with out coilovers on the back anyway Struan i think your getting confused, if you put a spacer on your wheels which were et15 then it would stick them out even more and would destroy even more tyre

    water pump

Its a lot more in depth than a valver but is quite do-able, ye have to take off the charger and the charger bracket, once thats off then you will easily see how it comes off, 3 rubber hose pipes and 4 big bolts and it will fall off. great fun like
