Looking at the pictures the interior rear bench and seats are a different cloth pattern- that needs sorting before asking this money. I think the seller is trying to get back what he is into the car and maybe more- unfortunately the maths never work on a corrado restoration at present unless your a dealer and get a garage queen off an OAP who dont know what they are worth and rip them off- all to common and they even pretend to be enthusiast as well sometimes the blag artists- makes you puke thinking of them sniffing around the groups trying to build bridges pre sale.

The bonnet has lots of holes and moldings underneath so it blends in- I would just cut it mate only you will notice it as everyone will be looking at the schrick with green envy ha.
-
If you can get one with no rot on the body and leather interior that does not need a spray job for around 6 or 7 k that should leave you plenty to spend on the drive train- If you can be patient hold of for some recaro as they are hard to find and sell for 2 k alone. .

Oh my will have a look - thanks .

Looks a good car- but come on where are the engine trims- your asking top money make sure the car it is complete-as I want the car sorted for that money- you need to watch out for high price cars they still dont need 5 k spending on them - really need to give the car a thorough inspection and make sure the asking price is valid.

Good to know. Anyone got a link to the brake hose kit you need ? Dox do the 280 mm G60 upgrade on a Mk2 16v - do i need any hose kit or is it direct fit - I know you need spacers for the BBS RA but I all ready have some fitted. Cheers

Are the 288 mm factory Mk3 ones all ATE guys so I know they are genuine ? Thanks
-
Hi ABV, I can confirm the Mk3 does have an option for a 288 mm desribed as RED. NO1 on diagram. https://www.ilcats.ru/vw/?function=getParts&market=RDW&model=GO&modelcode=184&year=1997&group=6&subgroup=615&part=615040&language=en Dox/ Shaun are these correct fitment for the corrado mod ? Thanks https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/bremssattelgehause-golf-gti-dbc664.html Its £400 for the set but would have to get carries to - works out to a fair bit so not a great option- .

ABV Im not sure about the MK3 - its a GTI I have never owned to be honest- it is possible I suppose that the anniversary edition came with red callipers. Its true when you think about it- the VR6 is heavier then the g60 and more powerful so it is surprising VW did not upgrade the brakes to 288 mm from factory. Thanks Sean I will look on etka later and find the part numbers - be interesting to see if you can still get them new- I could then use my 280 mm from the VR to upgrade on my MK2 golf . Just out of interest if I can find a second hand set- how much does big red roughly charge for refurb. Thanks

Glad you didnt get your pants in that photo mate would wrecked my bank holiday - seriously the interior looks mint well done. Cream looks so good fresh but so bad when tired.
-
Kamei no1 mate come on.
-
I would say individual the parts would cost a bomb brand new- I mean Ive never seen one advertised but its one of the biggest complaints in a corrado - sticky leather- Im just guessing now but for 1k would be worth every penny especially for a corrado owner that does European tours or lives in a hot climate .
-
They sound good all right- I noticed the Audi 80 came with a 280 mm double pot.
-
Stealth obsession for the name of the build ? I quite like Tempest as its a bit stronger then a storm . Im done spending for the time beign but very tempted for the callipers.

What 80's - 90s cars for sale have caught your eye recently.

Had to look twice at the price of this Mk2 16v at 35 k but then saw the mileage. Would love a smell of that cabin. Always seems to be slimey dealers that get their hands on these car - must be approached by family members in most cases to sell on behalf of an older relative- they make shit loads on them and do fook all to them. In this case it does say the garage that is selling it serviced it for 28 years- I suppose the selleres sometimes dont want to deal with the VW jealous haters. and tyre kickers. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202105283211064?advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=Pl143tx&model=GOLF&page=1&aggregatedTrim=GTI&price-from=25000&make=VOLKSWAGEN&include-delivery-option=on&sort=relevance&fbclid=IwAR2rkAKnPtFtLAlo75jCLrmnyWQfRcPKfQ1-fs6TiCJ2f_SKvrKCXdH5zQQ -
That is the best upgrade in all the vag classics for sure.
-
Ok thanks Dox- maybe I just get a set of the 288 mm - i think the stock brakes can catch you out in real high ??? speeds approaching slow traffic as we are so you use to more modern brakes.
-
Does the extra increase in sizr brakes put more pressure on an all ready temperamental abs sytem I wonder ? I imagine Dox its not as noticeable as the 266 mm upgrade to g60 280 mm in a mk2 golf ?
-
Very valid points there I do like a space saver to get me out the crap - what is the braking performance in real terms -does it out weight the loaded weight added to the axles. I do like to put on the stock 15 - but I suppose the ones to fit would be the AP 4 pots that match the vento kit.
-
Thanks mate - the only thing missing I would say is the 288 mm brake upgarde but my stocks are in fantastic condition. Do 288 mm accommodate the stock speedline 15 alloys - what are the part number for 288 mm callipers as I believe mk5 and a3 had them . I think you lot use the MK4 callipers ?
-
Final build sheet - had a bit of time today so thought why not .
