Scumbags feel your pain and good luck you will get her back in good shape- was something left ion the car it really looks like they tried to get in - I would say more over that it was none professional attempt to break in. Smashing of cars glass is very common on the highway - I noticed this more owning a dog and constantly walking round shattered glass on the pavement by parking bays. I invested in a disk lock last week and use that car to block in my other two cars.
-
Another thing worth mentioning is the isv houses srraight into the vsr through a rubber grommet on the back of it - not sure I need a damper like stock .
-
Certainly will more over on a basis that I do not want to cause any pinking .

They came with a black ecu piggy- I have seen adverts for VSR ecu but not sure that is correct to be honest- ultimately I imagine these ecu to be for dizzy cars so I will just be using my schrick piggy as my car is a coil pack - it just sends a signal to the solenoid to release air. Thankfully have this all ready set up on car but I will be chatting to Vince to make sure the schrick chip I have in ecu as present is suitable for the vsr. Also the later ecu units that my car and the storms have better immobilizer on the ecu- much better units. It may be that a full blown ecu came with early vsr systems then they upgraded to a piggy black ecu to bring down costs and to be compatible with coil and dizzy. Unfortunately I have this ecu piggy but it has a nasty burn mark in casing that is showing the internals of the ecu so I will just use the schrick- I did post the other day a perfectly good cost effective unit that you can use that is weatherproofed and also has the led lights like the shk ecu.

Fla it attaches to the bolts that hold the aux water pump. So behind right side of engine bay- also may I add the solenoid has the same 2 pin plug for schrick actuator. I have also seen these vessels in black but vsr cam with green so keeping stock although looks like a toilet float ha.

No worries gentlemen send me your postal address . Very busy this week but will get them sent out to you asap.

Thanks Geri it really was an hour or two work at home - just very happy that the solenoids where so ready available and cheap enough. There is very little info on the ground on vsr install so I will be recording my findings to help others..

So the build begins - as they say start off with the easy jobs first. Steering wheel now fitted - just had to put an extra cable in as three working horns on wheel but fits fine with a momo hub. The VSR came to me in a sorry state so I sanded down bracket and replaced with 3.2 mm black vacuum hose. After doing some research the vag solenoids where actually made by Pierburgh and still available - however with the vag numbers on them were triple the cost then direct from Pierburg so a bit of cross referencing and I got much cheaper and still original units. The green vessel quick clean and fine sand then lacquer came up new. Ready available in the UK and cheap. Picture below shows where the bracket houses behind the block. The biggest difference between a Schrick and VSR is the reservoir vessel is one way rather then 2 way on a Schrick. Continued on to sand down VSR and apply VHT 800 degree followed by a lacquer- picture is displayed with NOS engine trims. Im now happy the VSR is now presentable and should be fully functional as flap moves. The green vessel is still available new from classic for cheap and I have made a template of the bracket if anyone ever wants one.

This will work as well for a piggy ecu and also has the led lights red and green and comes in casing. Have spoke to the seller and it runs upto 12 cylinders - good price to. Wiring diagram on advert. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ignition-RPM-Activated-Switch-for-VTEC-control-or-other-S-C1/332825134965

The muppet on the video called it a golf G60 - heaven lords incompetence at its finest.
-
Thanks Geri you wont have to wait long - the gear box is the laegest job as the casing needs a few holes drilling and will have the internals inspected for wear whilst its stripped.
-
Thanks Fen , Im sort of thinking could this possibly be the only Corrado in the world with this combination of parts been vag motorsport parts?
-
Thanks for your kind words. The alloys I got for a steal. The steering wheels I made . The geabox gemini and vsr was mega but will get a rebate off the schrick which I will be very sad to see go as its every bit as special as a VSR imo = schrick is the business- its going to an owner of a Ottinger Rado so will be cared for . - nonetheless sad as been with the car since 2003 and feel like im selling part of the cars history.
-
This is the et chap. If you notice the spokes go from centre to outer rim whereas a normal speedline the spokes go inwards.
-
Thanks ABV The wheels are 7.5 J x 16 5 x 100- they were designed to take 6 pot AP callipers that came in the VWMS race packs for motor sport- also were on the MK3 rallye prototype. This is the car they came off Dave Pinkey and that is Vince from Stealth racing *red top) in photo that use to build the cars up with VWMS packs and also use to be the race mechanic.

Holy Somosa that is a fibre glass abortion.

Thanks mate should never need to ever worry about the fans as the old Bosch ones are going strong still although I just has an engine rebuild and it made sense to replace 25 year old fans- its just the plastic tabs that brake on the old ones and Im sure they are not going to last for ever.so thought get a 4 pin fan whilst you - I have not seen any other available worldwide in 4 [in - there may only be a few of these left at classics .
-
Crazy you can buy these genuine parts but not a quality rad- Classics should get a quality one made up as they are the most common thing to fail in the cooling system . Even the metal fan shroud is available believe it or not.
-
No worries chap- etka show the looms under electrical and also show part number for plugs which is listed on the click site.

Im not a fan of aftermarket manifolds especially headers - they drone on the motorways - they make the engine bay hotter- you cant hear or feel the engine if its working spot on whilst driving. The best exhaust systems are the vag long life but are heavy very heavy. Ive just purchased an ugly downpipe for the 16v which came with a silencer from factory but a 16v has a horrible rasp and drone without it .- 8v do not need one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hosenrohr-Vorschalldampfer-VW-GOLF-II-GTI-16V-KR-RHD-Rechtslenker-LEISTRITZ/124154357427 The exhaust is a German company called LEISTRITZ - they were the oe manufactures of VAG exhausts and in this case it cost me £200.00 inc postage- the same exhaust with the vag stamp is 699 euro from classics- so I love when an nos Leistritz (no longer made) comes on the market I snap it up absolute quality and they are all long life. https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/abgasrohr-f0752d.html Picture example they are the OE. So if you want an oe exhaust that may will be obsolete look out foe Leistritz - I believe they made them for the Corrado as well.
-
Thanks ABV. Of course chap here is the link off ebay- it includes all the seals and connectors as well- I think it is OE as well because has the orange seal inside plug same as vag. Part number is 1H0973204 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1H0973204-1H0-973-204-4-WAY-CONNECTOR-KIT-Inc-Terminals-and-Seals-4-AC278/233324341480 This is the company that sells them- they have many vag plugs in stock. https://www.auto-click.co.uk/

Also aftermarket selling fans with only 3 pins are rated at up to 450 w and would of been speed setting two that would of not worked 3 fine. Table below off etka cleanly shows the fan I have purchased.
-
Which fuse are you on about the one in the fan controller? Im pretty sure I will be fine as the fan I purchased wouldn't be on etka as a superseded part for a manual vr6 without aircon and towing.
-
This is the other fan unit . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auxiliary-Fan-Control-Unit-Kuhlersteuergerat-VW-357919506A/233875000584?fits=Model%3ACorrado&hash=item3674094d08:g:0T0AAOSwOPhgGhBa
