Another thing learnt, didnt know you could swap the engine out for a 4Motion unit. How much is a 4Motion engine out of curiosity ?
-
Could be the bump stops if its only when dealing with bumps, if its doing it all the time might be the bearings.

I'm having mine done at the moment, only went in to have the rear brakes done among other things, two phone calls later and its having all the brakes done :( will let you know costs when i get the break down.

Best ive seen to date out of my VR is 32mpg, havent driven a long steady journey so not sure what its capable of returning

Good advice on the bump starting, had to do that once on my old VR after the starter motor went funny. Luckily that car went back to the trader. Any advice for preventing things like this again, damp in the engine bay is a little unavoidable is it not ? Cant get it in the garage but ill work on clearing that out i think.

Garage have now dragged the car away for repair. Got a call turns out the HT leads were shot and the Coil Pack is near dead. Guess that answers why it wouldnt start, now ive got an even larger bill to pay  Thanks for your advice guys

Tried it again this time jump starting it, still no go :( I can smell fuel so i believe its getting its juice. Looking around the engine bay its not half wet in there. Wondering if its shorting while trying to spark. Dont have the tools at hand to remove the plugs which is a pain. Will have to leave till morning and see if the garage will collect

Im sure this has been asked hundreds of times before. Just been out to take the old girl for a drive, not used since the weekend. Tired to start it up and it wont catch. The started motor kicks in and tries to turn the engine over it just wont have any of it. Tried to start it about 5 times leaving a 20-30 gap between attempts. Occasionally the rev gauge flicks up to 3000rpm ish but still doesn't start. Any suggestions, talk about bad timing its due in the garage in the morning. I was wondering if its the fuel pump, i cant hear any whine from the rear with the ignition on. Currently got the battery on charge to check that.

Might have to pop down to my local store tomorrow, thanks for the heads up -
Thanks for that VR6Storm. Yeah i suppose it is really minor in the grand scheme of Corrado ownership, just my first ever major outlay on a car in one sitting. Good tip on the "rotor cages" forgot about them, had problems with those on my last VR6. Will get those replaced too.
-
Yeah would try my hand at most things there. Only problem is the weather :( garage is too full to fit the car into and MOT is due soon.

Hi All My VR6 is in need of some serious work, bought on the cheap i knew it needed much of the working doing. Just wondering if anyone could put a rough figure to the cost of this. Exhaust, Mid/Rear + Centre boxes Brake disks rear Shocks + Bumpstops rear Brake pads all round Rear wheel bearings Replacement seals on oil cooler Front engine mount (for safety's sake) + Labour Costs Would try to get it done through a VW specialist, and im after all VAG parts ideally.

i saw that, i dont do shell suits leave that to the townies

Hi All While i was unblocking the waste pipe in the rubber seal around the fuel filler, i thought it might be a good idea to clean out the road gunk from behind. As seems to be common while gently pull the gunk away i found the earth cable for the fuel filler. Its rusted off, and now as there is no road gunk to hold it in place im left with a loose wire. Whats the best way to secure this back in place ?

Welcome, another local person good to see.

Hi All In need of some help again, tried to take the door panel off tonight to fit a new locking rod (bar that runs from lock to door knob). Something was preventing the panel from coming off in the lower left corner of the drivers side panel. What am i missing ? i removed one screw from the top of the inside edge of the door, 2 from the handle and 2 from the outer edge. Next part would be once ive got it off, how do you go about installing the new locking rob Cheers Ross

Had a similar event the other night, picked my brother up from town. Looked in my rear view and spotted an FTO with blue lit washer heads. Kept on my rear revving at the junctions, and speeding up my rear end. I wasn't playing, it gave up after a while and went back towards town at a roundabout.

Hummm, BMW cruise control is pretty good, it only works when in 5th gear. Cant imagine other manufactures doing anything different. Id agree with Dr Mat blowing an engine is a safer thing to do. Id say thing guy just wanted to drive, good excuse though, but he could have thrown the card out the window.

Must be Blue, ive got an Aqua blue one now to add to the statistics. Pervious C was Midnight blue, loads of blue variants being sold recently.

Damn why did i have to move from Manchester.... Oh yeah country roads and air :) Scott would have need a good candidate, dont let him read that as he'll want his C back
-
Sounds plausible, luckily living out in the country plenty of roads to do this on. Cant see myself attempting this though

Anyone know of a good place around the Hampshire area to get my Speedlines refurbed ? All four need some TLC, based near Andover. Thanks
