For quick conversions i use a program called "Mp3 To All Converter" it will do what you like. Will convert WMA to MP3 and vice versa. Full choice of bit rates, only deals with constant not variable rates. Depending on the speed of your computer should do a track in under 30 seconds

How much is the original cassette holder worth?
Tekara replied to G60 Bob's topic in General Car Chat
Hummmm, plastic surround might be useful for modding. Cant really see a major interest, i didnt even know the Corrado had one. -
In the same boat, miss the C big time. Cant wait to get my hand on another one, got to get the Corrado bug out of my system before i move onto other cars.

Dont know the reason behind it. Admiral will allow cars to share no claims when both insured with them. Elephant might has Admiral is the underwriter

 Looks like a post gone wrong

Glad to hear you got one of the minor bugbears sorted

Congrats, its a great feeling Corrado ownership. Cant wait till i get a new one Ive heard a few mentions of door mirror problems, seems to be rusted contacts. Im sure one of the more experienced owners will answer it in more details.

Got told about Fuel Cats a few days ago, just been onto a site and read up on them. Seem a good idea but another got any first hand experience with them, wore adding to a VR6 ? or are they intended for really old vehicles http://www.fuelcat.co.uk

Ive notice the increase too, already raised my budget twice. Any more and i might have to consider a Golf :|

Thanks Kev, will remember to ask for Mk4 parts when i get that job done. Better start saving for the job now and ive not even bought another VR6 yet :)
-
Is it best to get the Mk4 solid tensioner system fitted as a replacement ? Any ideas as to cost for the parts

My last C was a daily drive, and whatever the next one is will also be a daily driver. Luckily i do have another cheapy mobile to drive should i need to, but it wont last forever. Other bouns is i only work a few miles from home.
-
Seem very varied, last day i had my VR6 i gave it a right pasting. Sat it 3rd at 5000rpm for most of the way on country roads, peaked at 106 thats the highest i ever saw out of it. Even when doing 100 on the motorway for 40miles it never went over 100. Mind you the C i test drove at the weekend from a completely cold start, reached 98 after 2 miles and i never exceeded 60mph or really revved it.

Really appreciate the info guys, looks like its a little more effort than i originally intended for.

Tempted by Scotts car, but this one is reasonably local, and apart from those areas i found is in good nick with top notch history. I know the guy will go to £4500 but just want to know above costs to see if i can pull it lower. Dont even want to spend 4.5k due to hassles of work involved, so trying to pick up a bargin. Bit of a gamble anyway, just wanted peoples expert opinions on it

Been to look at what seemed a good deal for a 1994 L VR6 in silver, 2 owners 81k currently advertised at £5500 On viewing the car, i found that the rear wheel bearings need to be replaced rear disk and pads need to be changed, exhaust hanger next to the mid box has come off. Slight blowing sound from the front area of exhaust, engine down pipe perhaps, slight prang to the drivers front wing, would require respray. Also was a mysteries water leak dripping onto the front engine mount, only a little but couldn't find where. Any idea how much the above parts would cost and labour. Also suggestions as to price. Drives well, pulls hard, stops in a straight line.

A fair few cars that. Id have to agree VW ownership is rather addictive. Im on the hunt for another VR6 and im getting really impatient.
-
thanks for that, looks promising
-
Hahaha Like it  Well got to sort something out driving round in a Toyota Carina Diesel is really getting me down. No way am i driving that to any VW events or meets
-
Paid £4050 after beating the price down. Looking for a proper one this time about £4500 i guess is my max, but if its a pristine example then i guess i might be able to scrape a bit more together.

I tried to avoid mentioning the companies name as i still dont understand the full story. They gave me some spiel about an ex employee doing under handed things, dont know if its true, something suspect at work there. Not sure how but vr6storm has guessed it, it was indeed Expert Tecik from Basingstoke. I bought it from a trader because i felt id have a little come back it things went wrong. Luckily i escaped this situation. Lets hope this helps other should they every experience a problem with them in the future. Full price back in cash, only way id accept it. Now safely back in my bank account. Would appreciate it if you could keep a look out for quality VR's and let me know if anyone hears of any other than the forum ones. Bit like having a misses really, cant live with them, cant live without them.
